£200 extra that is a huge amount

Ate leftover after all. Not too bad. Also have butter buns rising in the fridge to be baked tomorrow for breakfast Anything to take my mind off bloody incompetent types. It's so depressing.

Reading another Rebus book. This one's better - serial killer plots scare me too much ...

sfxmum · 04/07/2009 12:21

hello all

trying to keep dd busy, dh grumpily off to work which is understandable

KewC are you around? how are things?

OP posts:
slng · 04/07/2009 15:02

Hello!

We are being quite lazy too. In fact I've just woken up from a short nap. DS1 and DS2 are playing separately (ie peace reigns) and DH is still in the land of nod ...

Not sure what to do next. Half promised to go to the park but hopefully it will rain!

slng · 04/07/2009 20:08

Didn't rain. Did go to park. And cafe.

Reading Tintin now.

sfxmum · 04/07/2009 20:12

love Tintin have a few in several languages

we went to Kew but dd is now running an fever and dh is stuck at work
I might have a glass of wine

OP posts:
slng · 04/07/2009 20:43

sfx - we have the most politically incorrect Tintin in Congo in Chinese ...

I'm cooking dinner and having a glass of wine.

pcworld · 05/07/2009 07:37

Good morning, I have just trimmed ds's hair while sitting in a rocking horse (him, not me). It was the only way that I could (semi)restrain him to get the job done. The result, as you might guess, is "interesting". Especially given that I was using blunt safety scissors. Rather 80s, actually. I wonder if we could get a pair of skinny jeans over his chubby thighs

tillyfernackerpants · 05/07/2009 08:34

pc

Had ds2's baptism yesterday, went very well. Though a lot of ds1's friends & cousins were there, all with blonde hair & wearing white shirts, comments were made that it was a little bit like this . Must have a quiet day today!

Slng, how annoying from the nursery. It must be a common problem as our nursery can't seem to keep proper accounts either, they write & say we owe them money, we work it out & nope, they actually owe us money

Sfx, hope dd is feeling better today

sfxmum · 05/07/2009 13:15

hello all

amused at pcW guerilla hairdressing

slng Tintin not know for pcness but actually funny

tilly good to hear it went well regarding link have you seen the ad for the new Torchwood?

kewC called you back will try later

dd seem better thanks but I spent a good portion of the nigh checking up on her, she then got up at 6.30 no no no

Hello!

Went to cheap shoe shop and sports shop to get sandals for LOs. So busy! It's like the credit crunch never happened ...

Home alone with DS2. DS1 off to take part in a concert .

mygreatauntgriselda · 05/07/2009 19:49

Lol Tilly!! Glad Baptism went swell. Will we see the cutey pix?

I was in Richmond Park for mega walk (in place of Sunday morning swim) at 7.45am today and it was PACKED!!

pcworld · 05/07/2009 20:46

Oh, sounds wonderful, Auntie! Any news on our night out? Am v keen! Also, what is the Facebook thing you were talking about?

sfxmum · 06/07/2009 10:00

good morning all

easy quiet day I hope, Chris and Pui to the rescue with their new show, much excitement from dd, she found the advert on CBeebies website

hope everyone is well

OP posts:
vbus · 06/07/2009 10:08

Morning all

Back from fab weekend in the countryside, I now want to move there
Everyone v. tired here, almost need a weekend to recover after these jaunts!

Tilly - LOl, glad all went well for DS2

PCW, or should I call you Vidal?

Hope everyone well. Off to Tesco now as need to get some stuff for hols

BTW anyone read any good books lately (no horror, too scary for me)? Need some ideas to take on hols

slng · 06/07/2009 11:42

Morning!

Got rained on on school run ...

vbus - I'm a very urban type. A bit of the countryside is OK but too long without cash points, car parks, supermarkets and restaurants and I'd break out in rashes ... Sorry no recommendation for books other than detective novels - Ian Rankin, Henning Mankell and MC Beaton. I particularly enjoy the Hamish Macbeth stories. They are quite funny.

sfxmum · 06/07/2009 12:01

vbus I always feel like that when I spend time in the country especially in France or Italy, Somerset would do too, but I know I would not survive there
glad you had a nice time
my next book will be Joseph O'Neil - Netherland which apparently is a good holiday book

dd is on food strike for over 2 days even pasta not doing its job, am refusing puddings which are not fruit

OP posts:
slng · 06/07/2009 13:40

Just had lunch - braised chicken with homegrown kale and homegrown chilli! >

sfx - we seldom have food strikes, but certainly have periods of eating a lot less than normal. The opposite of growth spurts? A period of consolidation?

sfxmum · 06/07/2009 13:58

slng well done know you just have to keep chickens for extreme smugness

about food dd did eat the couscous salad for lunch, when she barely eats dh gets really stressed which makes dinner time difficult, we have different approaches when it comes to food

OP posts:
sfxmum · 06/07/2009 13:58

now

OP posts:
slng · 06/07/2009 14:54

No livestock, thank you very much.

I get quite stressed about DC not eating their dinner too, but mostly because I imagine they might wake up in the night hungry and demanding food, which has never happened before, so I might be just a bit paranoid ...

Off on school run. Will it rain?

mygreatauntgriselda · 06/07/2009 18:28

vbus that sounds lovely - where did you go?

pc - OMG did I miss you too? Will check FB - tis about birthday picnic...

Can anyone else hear Jules Holland? Was rehearsing this arvo

SFX I only have a few on the nite out board but we can stil go!! (try stopping me lol)

mygreatauntgriselda · 06/07/2009 19:13

vbus · 06/07/2009 19:55

Auntie - wedding was near Salisbury and friend's lovely house was not far in the deepest depths of Wiltshire. It was tempting after such a nice wkend, but I'm sure I would get bored atfter about a month, too quiet for me

DS1 appetite is so random, it really is feast or famine, food strikes do occur here too. Constantly amazed that DS2 often eats more than him!

Looking fwd to night out, but where is everyone else?

May tape TW, I'm so tired but will watch Valentine, he's back!

slng · 06/07/2009 20:55

vbus - are you watching the funny bloke telling us what to eat? Woman is hypnotising lobsters!!!!
