Am I on the birthday list sfx - I haven't checked yet.

slng · 13/06/2009 19:00

Hello!

Hope everyone is well. Kew - glad you are recovering. Well done on being alive!

OK here but have serious hayfever nose and eyes. Have harvested some kale and going to harvest some pea shoots for tea! Very exciting. Hope it won't be pants ... DS1 tried to pull out some leeks thinking they were weeds. I see that further education is needed ...

Hello

Can't keep up with thread!

Just back from an indulgent week at parents in Wiltshire (DP on business in Asia for 2 weeks) where I ate vast quantities of raspberry pavlova. Great to have a couple of extra people to 'entertain' him, especially as DS is now waking every 2 hrs at night. Been a bit zombie-like as a result. We went swimming for the first time ever, which was lovely! Salisbury has a fab 'beach pool' which trails off to about 1cm deep. Glad I didn't give in to (probably imagined) pressure to do the whole 'baby swimming' thing. Feel like the only person in the world who isn't doing it. But I think he'll grow to be quite confident enough in water without being dunked.

Nice to be home. Pondering a walk in Woodland Gardens when DS wakes up.

Going into work tomorrow for a one-off meeting. Eek!

Anyone going to Kew Gardens or MHH one-o-clock club this coming week?

slng · 14/06/2009 18:41

Hello all!

Tried to go swimming this morning but pool was full so went to the park instead. Then had friends came round for lunch. Then park again... All in all quite a nice day, only marred by having to say everything about 10 times to DS1 before getting a response ... But kids are in the bath with DH on duty, and there are TWO bottles of wine open, one of each colour.... What to do what to do?

sfxmum · 15/06/2009 10:20

Hello all

Had a fabby, wild weekend. Thanks again Slng/Tilly - costumes were spot on

Glad we went out in the sun before the storm came over.

KC - glad no case of swine flu

Hope everyone well

pcworld · 15/06/2009 20:06

Vbus, what on earth have you been up to - partying? Kew - hope you are feeling much better by now. All is fine so far at this end, ds cried a lot this afternoon, he had his MMR jab this morning so am hoping he manages to get through the night ok. It's another busy old week here but we might see about Kew Gdns on Fri morning (weather dependant, obviously!) - if anyone fancies it.

slng · 15/06/2009 20:54

Hello!

sfx - we went to Gurnell.

vbus - glad you had good time!

We have sports day on Friday morning.

Am exhausted....

sfxmum · 15/06/2009 21:09

pcW am on for Kew weather allowing of course, hope ds feel ok tonight
must sort out dd's booster

slng pools in the park was ok busy but manageable and wonderfully open air

vbus was it a hoedown?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/06/2009 11:19

and I am now agreeing with Boris

OP posts:
slng · 16/06/2009 12:32

Hello!

sfx - what did Boris say that you agree with? Is it "Bollocks", or "absolute bollocks", or some variation thereof?

vbus · 16/06/2009 14:10

PCW - yes, let's just say it felt like year's worth of partying in one weekend Cowboy party was more like mini festival and there was guy from Casualty there (as I don't watch it I wasn't star struck), DH looked like JR Ewing
Hope your DS is ok

Would be up for meet up on Fri but it would be just me and DS2 if am

Been to Cheeky monkeys, 1st time in about a year but it was great to catch up with some friends and DS2 seemed to really get into it. Might go more regularly

Sfx - spill the beans, what did Boris say that you could possibly agree with?

sfxmum · 16/06/2009 14:28

hi
slng well people like Boris work as MP's imo because he tends to speak his mind and you sort of know what you get from him, and thankfully not always along party lines, he was talking about immigration here
serious debate and proper facts needed imo

not sure about him in executive power of any kind but good for a debate and a laugh

dh took dd to nursery and I just picked her up in her pink cycle glory

I really really need to study

and btw the bbc iplayer seems to have odd rules about how long a series stays on available to watch, Sunday night I was delighted to be able to catch up on some of the poetry season but most of it is gone now

something else to keep me from study

sfxmum · 16/06/2009 14:31

vbus party sounds fun I am a bit spaced when it come to meeting 'celebrities' in normal circumstances I keep thinking I know them from some place and looking at them oddly deciding if I should smile or ignore because I don't know them at all

on Sunday there was a bbc journalist with her 2 children in the pool and it took me a while to work out that she was not a nursery mum just someone off the telly

OP posts:
vbus · 16/06/2009 15:58

Sfx - LOL at star spotting, I am just the same. Bizarrely I also saw Emma Forbes on Sat.

Off to DS1 nursery induction tonight, can't believe how fast it's all coming round

slng · 16/06/2009 17:42

Mobile phone has just died. Phone company refused to deal with me because phone registered to DH. Fair enough, but is this normal:

Me: I've been using this phone for the past 5 years.
Phone person: Oh, are you not with him any more?

Tell me there is hope.

slng · 17/06/2009 08:32

Hello!

Phone came back to life. Phew! No need to talk to Phone Persons anymore after all.

sfxmum · 17/06/2009 10:59

good morning all

slng phone people are a bit evil in fact most services where you have to call and are not actually buying something seem to be there to waste your time

dd woke up at 4am today barely slept since, I stayed with her until 5.30 me drifting in and out of sleep she talking endlessly, the decided to take her to my bed and share the pain with dh, thankfully she was far more interested in telling him how lovely and wonderful he is and let me sleep some

she rode her bike to nursery and seems fine but I expect the afternoon will be quite cranky

hope everyone is well

Morning

Slng - good newws re: phone, was it the battery?

Went to induction last night, nice to meet the staff and hear about the school.

Having a chilled out morning. DS2 having a super long snooze and DS1 at preschool, have already finished all my jobs for the day

slng · 17/06/2009 11:20

Hello!

vbus - don't know what was wrong with phone, probably just bad contact since it came back on after having been dismantled ... How do you find the school then?

sfx - DS2 woke up at 6 yesterday, was OK all day till DS1 pick up time - fell asleep midway through a conversation while waiting for DS1, then woke up to demand his piece of cake, then fell asleep half-way through the cake. It was quite funny ...

sfxmum · 17/06/2009 11:22

vbus is the nursery attached to the desired primary? how exciting
we have our evening on the 25th am quite nervous about it
