Hi

Was wondering if any one else would like to get together one day and have a chat?

The more the merrier, everyone is always saying what is there for children to do, personally i hate going to soft play, swimming etc on my own. Think it may be an idea?

any one else with a suggestion?

x

I am working on Monday Geordie (what happened to the mac BTW, was going to type GMM?).

Only another Monday to work after that and then I'm off, which I would be looking forward to if I wasn't being made redundant at the same time.

But I will definitely catch up with you all then, been meaning to catch up with you and midnight for ages, but went back to work full time for a bit.

I would so be up for roller disco once I am not so huge!!!

midnightexpress · 11/06/2009 13:27

I haven't got any roller skates though, so that's that plot oot the windae.

Shame, I was just imagining myself as Olivia Newton-John, whirling around singing Xanadu before crashing on my tush.

Hello, just logging on for a min while at work. Friday 19th @ Tramway sounds fine to me at the moment - right next to the train station sounds perfect as a matter of fact!

PacificDogwood · 11/06/2009 21:57

Won't be able to make meet at Tramway this time .

But will keep an eye on any potential Monday meeting at CBDS, with or without rollerskates .

RedHairedGirlie · 12/06/2009 17:22

Hi Nyx n Wiggletastic, was really nice to meet you both on Monday and meet your lovely daughters too. Nyx, don't worry about the running off during coffees.. simply showing us what we have to look forward too

I am down at my folks at the moment, and have just enjoyed a wonderful full body hot stone massage... ahhh... and granny and gramps are going to babysit tonight so I can go out and quite possibly try my first G n T in a while!!

look forward to catching up again soon.

RedHairedGirlie · 12/06/2009 17:35

PS I should be able to make Tramway on the 19th too.. what time was everyone thinking of meeting?

weegiemum · 12/06/2009 17:38

The only roller skates in this house are small size 11 and have Dora the Explorer all over them - so it looks like I will have to give the roller disco a miss too .

Morning or afternoon at the tramway? I have to be home for 3.30 for kids, but can do anytime up unti lthen.

Nyx · 12/06/2009 17:43

What about 11ish, as before? Am looking forward to it

RedHairedGirlie - glad you're enjoying your time at your parents', and I am so of your massage - it sounds wonderful!

wiggletastic · 12/06/2009 18:21

11 at the Tramway is good for me.

Sounds like you girls are having a lovely time at your folks RedHairedGirlie. Massage sounds fab. I am going for a facial at the Urban Spa in Silverburn tomorrow - can't wait!

kirmcc · 13/06/2009 14:39

hello ladies- not been on here in a while- but its nice to see there is meet ups happening
i got lost in all the chat when is the next one? and is there room for one more mum and fluffy headed 3 year old?

kirmcc · 13/06/2009 14:42

forgot to say my daughter is at the gaelic school aswell and my son is starting in the nursery after the summer

Nyx · 14/06/2009 20:46

Hey kirmcc I believe there's one planned now for Friday the 19th at the Tramway, at 11am. And there's definately room for a(nother) 3 year old, as then possibly mine wouldn't keep running off! Looking forward to it

geordieminx · 15/06/2009 08:32

very bored in our house today!

weegiemum · 15/06/2009 08:48

Kirmcc - ooh another gaelic school mummy! What class is your dd in? My dd1 is in -4 (Mrs Hunter), ds is in p2a (the fabulous Mr Cassidy) and dd2 is in p1a (Miss Maclean). they all love it. Dd1 is off to the Falkirk Whee1 for a school trip today and dd2 to Blair Drummond. Ds off to Lomond Shored tomorrow!! Ds and dd2 also went to the nursery there and flourished - though it was a bit of a surprise when I found out one of the teachers was a former pupil of mine .... that made me feel old!

Should manage Friday at 11. I'm marking Higher Geog like crazy but will need a break.

wiggletastic · 15/06/2009 09:10

Bit bored here too and its raining! Nothing planned except a trip to Tesco.

I am interested in the Gaelic School, I didn't know there was one! Can any child go? Do you need to live in the catchment or can you request a placement?

DD is only 7 months but we are already worrying about schools in a distinctly PFB fashion!

weegiemum · 15/06/2009 09:20

Yes, any child can go, you get a placing request. transport is provided - mine get on the bus just a the end of the street! You don't need to speak gaelic, but they do look favourably on you using some kind of Gaelic preschool like their own one or Little Learners at Langside.

Its great though, our kids love it.

wiggletastic · 15/06/2009 09:39

Well, thats very interesting weegiemum. Maybe we could have a chat about it on Friday at the Tramway meet-up?

weegiemum · 15/06/2009 09:45

Great!

prettybird · 15/06/2009 12:30

I'll try and come along too.

Actually, dh is going to be there too, meeting someone else - a woman - but I know all about it!

kirmcc · 15/06/2009 21:44

hi
i must know you weegie mum at least in passing my dd is in p1 (mrs darroch/miss thomson) and she went to the nursery before it aswell

should hopefully make friday, have you all met before? how will i know who u are?lol

weegiemum · 16/06/2009 02:32

I think we were going to meet in the archway at the front at about 11am. maybe we shoudl wear a red carnation or something?

Kirmcc - we must have sat outside at the same time every day picking them up in August! My dd2 (dont want to go into names on the board but you can see my profile) is the P1 who is currently in a wheelchair so your dc will know who it is! I used to stupidly sit outside with an empty buggy waiting for her - you might have seen me! She has a short term hip condition that hopefully means next year she can be up and mobile as much as she likes.

The nursery was fab, wasn't it? Miss MacKenzie (the newest teacher) was in my Geog class when we lived in the Hebrides! So was the current p5 teacher Mrs Brown who, as Miss Macdonald, was ds's P1 teacher last year!

Hope for Mr Cassidy for next year - he's fabulous

See you Friday!

By the way, I am contact with expat who is hoping to be in Glasgow on Fri, so she might come along as well with small kids.

kirmcc · 16/06/2009 19:27

ah i think i know who you are
dd loves her teachers at the moment but she has talked about mr cassidy- i heard him shout once and he was scarey lol.
do they find out before the holidays who they are getting?

wiggletastic · 18/06/2009 19:16

Hello Glasgow girls, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at 11. I don't possess a red carnation so will probably just hang about inside the Tramway entrance and smile hopefully at every mum who comes in, then accost them with a cheery 'Are you here for the mumsnet meet-up?' and then try to back off gracefully when they look at me like I'm some kind of mad stalker-woman.

RedHairedGirlie · 19/06/2009 07:51

Been up since 5am.. someone kept wriggling about and sticking their legs and arms through the cot slats and getting stuck !!! Hopefully will stil be awake at 11 - Looking forward to meeting everyone again..

prettybird · 19/06/2009 09:15

I'll come along

We'll probably be meeting just as dh is leaving At least I'll get a chance to see the new woman he is meeting

(Actually, it is all above board and he is meeting her with one of ds' friend's mother: they are both on the board of a local voluntary orgnaisation and they are meeting a new member of staff to sort out arrangements)
