Hi

Was wondering if any one else would like to get together one day and have a chat?

The more the merrier, everyone is always saying what is there for children to do, personally i hate going to soft play, swimming etc on my own. Think it may be an idea?

any one else with a suggestion?

x

'Ooh er missus'

I thought there was going to be a bit of scandal there for a minute!

prettybird · 19/06/2009 15:39

It was really nice to meet you all : Weegiemum at last (as I've "known" her for over 6 years in various guises), and wiggletastic and redhairedgirlie as "newer" Mumsnetters Not a hairy trucker in sight!

And I got some potential cusomters for dh - for both wine and mini rugby.

Wiggletastic - I'll e-mail you some specific recommendations for some sauvignon blancs that dh thinks you will like. I'll also send everyone a link to his web-site (I wasn't sure if it was "ready for visitors" yet but he assures me it is)

weegiemum · 19/06/2009 17:39

I had a fabulouso time - it was great to meet you all and your gorgeous babies - redhairedgirlie, maybe we can get a cuddle of your lovely little not-so-redhaired-girlie next time as she was so sleepy today!

I have 3 very excited-about-rugby dc here!

On the way home my jeans ripped though (they have been going between the legs urghle) and I have a sore bit now - eek!

Hope you all enjoyed it as much as me - hope to see you all again soon - would be nice to be there on a sunny day for gardens play in the holidays!

prettybird · 19/06/2009 19:02

Weegiemum - here's a link for therugby

I'll also remind you closer to the time when it is re-starting.

weegiemum · 19/06/2009 19:04

BTW never told you that our table was the 3rd one I asked if they were from MN. People were looking at me in a funny way .....

Hello! Lovely to meet you all today and have a good old chat.

Looking forward to the South African wine recommendations Prettybird. As I said, I know nothing about wine, so it will be great to have some 'professional' advice on what's good.

Hope to see you all again soon. Cross fingers for a sunny day next time so we can sit outside.

RedHairedGirlie · 19/06/2009 22:32

Hi Ladies,

Nice to meet you prettybird and weegiemum - hopefully next time DD will be more awake for cuddles ... she made up for all that sleeping earlier and did not settle all evening until about 30 mins ago... this gave me a good excuse to munch on chocolate digestives to boost my energy levels

Thanks again wiggletastic for the swim nappy, will drop you a line next week re: going along to one of the pools sometime..

prettybird, look forward to the link for the wine - this could be just what I need to get me back 'off the wagon'.. hee hee

Look foward to another meetup soon - perhaps a picnic in one of the parks - guess this needs last minute back up though just in case the weather isn't playing nice..

Nyx · 20/06/2009 17:20

Hello there,

I'm sorry - my pc crashed yesterday and I couldn't check a) mumsnet to confirm the meetup was still happening, or (b) google-maps the venue. I havered about coming along anyway but chickened out!

Hopefully next time...sounds like you all had a nice time.

wiggletastic · 20/06/2009 19:02

Sorry you couldn't be there Nyx, we missed you and your little DD. See you next time...

RedHairedGirlie · 24/06/2009 21:51

sorry you couldn't make it Nyx, hopefully catch you at the next meetup. Speaking of which, does anyone fancy trying to catch ugain on Monday 6th July? Any ideas on another good meetup location?

PacificDogwood · 24/06/2009 22:04

Oh, please may I come too? I couldn't make the 19th (arsey work) but the 6th would suit me fine...
Kelvingrove Park? Easy access to park/play ground or museum if weather inclement?? I know, it has been done before...

wiggletastic · 25/06/2009 17:32

I can do Monday 6th. Kelvingrove is fine for me or happy to try another location if anyone has any good suggestions?

weegiemum · 25/06/2009 17:36

I can do Mon 6th with no kids as they are at my parents that week!! Hooray!

Anywhere suits me! Would be nice to meet again, and I'd love to do so later in the hols when I have children with me too (proving I am not a hairy handed trucker ).

Will contact you prettybird about the footlball in the garden invite!

weegiemum · 25/06/2009 17:37

Kelvingrove is good btw. The other good option is Pollok park, as there is the Burrell or the playpark there, depending on the weather. But am happy to go with KG this time.

PacificDogwood · 25/06/2009 18:53

Just though of another one: Tollcross Park has a good play ground and a kind of city zoo. We've not been in aaaages.
Does West End or South Side suit more people?

giraffescantdancethetango · 25/06/2009 19:04

Hello wondering if I could invite myself? Very bored off work waiting for an op All my friends are at work and theres only so much "This morning" a person can watch My names Dave and is there a place at KG to park my truck?

wiggletastic · 25/06/2009 19:11

Parking is very limited at KG Dave and could you please remember to wax your hands before you turn up as hairy hands give me the heebie jeebies. Thanks.

PacificDogwood · 25/06/2009 19:13

Oh, didn't realise only hairy truckers were invited!

weegiemum · 25/06/2009 19:28

Southside suits me better as thats where I live, but am prepared to go pretty much anywhere for a coffee and cake .....

RedHairedGirlie · 25/06/2009 22:26

Kelvingrove is good for me, or any location really. Was there today and actually made it across to the transport museum... kind of makes you feel old when you see mini metro's and ford escorts mk2 in there ..

Shall we just go with Kelvingrove, and hopefully it will be nice weather so we can maybe have a bit of a picnic [Smile]..

Did I miss something with hairy truckers [hmmm]..??

What time should we go for 11am?

giraffescantdancethetango · 25/06/2009 22:45

I like the old prams in the transport museum...am just waiting for the day I see a phil and teds - then I will know I am really old.

I will go anywhere...I am very very very very very bored. So much so I am starting to get overly excited to see real people

Nyx · 26/06/2009 00:00

I can't do Monday 6th as I'm working that day (I don't usually work Mondays but we're moving offices that day!) I will try to make the following one, and hope you all have a lovely day for it

weegiemum · 26/06/2009 00:15

Nyx we will make sure the next one is on a day you don't work! Let us know what days so we can organise!

11am is fine with me. In the car park at Kelvingrove, or elsewhere? (makes no difference to me, I'm on public transport so am Very Good Friends with anyone who offers me a lift home!!)

Shame I can't bring my kids but they are going to my parents on the Sunday for a week - mainly to go fishing with Grandpa! Dd1 (9) is very very keen on catching fish and killing them!!! then she eats them, which I suppose is good, knowing where her food comes from etc ....

Will we bring picnic food, in expectation of a good day?

weegiemum · 26/06/2009 00:16

Giraffe - if you are very bored CAT me and you can come round for coffee/lunch etc next week if you like?
