Hi

Was wondering if any one else would like to get together one day and have a chat?

The more the merrier, everyone is always saying what is there for children to do, personally i hate going to soft play, swimming etc on my own. Think it may be an idea?

any one else with a suggestion?

Monday 8th at the Art Gallery good for me too! I've never been to a MN meetup either so don't know about the etiquette, I guess I assumed we'd 'out' ourselves but haven't actually got a clue.

Thanks for suggesting West End btw, I'm chuffed! For future ref, I've actually been to Pollok House by train before so I can do that too

What age of children do you all have? DD is 3.4 and tends to run around a bit.

poppeto · 01/06/2009 21:58

I've never done this before, so I don't have a clue either. I don't mind either way though, so happy to go with what other folk think.

I've got a DD whose 21 weeks btw

pingviner · 01/06/2009 23:54

I should be there too, with the small pingvin (7 months) in tow, but dont know the etiquette either
perhaps we should have some symbol of glasgow mumhood to recognise each other by?

wiggletastic · 02/06/2009 07:32

Symbol of Glasgow Mumhood... hmmm... greggs sausage roll and a fruitshoot? Nooooo...only joking!

I have a small wiggle who is 7 months (snap pingviner!). Shall we meet at the info desk in the main hall? I will be the tall one with the long dark hair pushing the buggy and she will be the small one with the short fair hair relaxing in the buggy.

Looking forward to meeting you all in RL....

Nyx · 02/06/2009 08:09

See you all at the info desk then - I will be the short one with glasses chasing after the blonde 3 year old and trying to lasso her or something

poppeto · 02/06/2009 12:44

great, see you all on Monday then...looking forward to it.

Weegiemum · 02/06/2009 12:51

Oh good - Monday at 11am I can manage but I have a meeting in town at 1.30 so that suits well (am an exam marker - its the "do we give a point for this" meeting!!)

I'm the tall and fat one with no kids at all - all mine are in school just down the road! Hooray!

Midnightexpress - feel free to cat me or email on t i t t m a r s (at) h o t m a i l (dot) c o m. I have 3 kids in the gaelic school and they are doing SO well - dd1 (P4) and ds(P2) are pretty much fluent now and I can't understand a word of it - its brilliant! Dd2 (P1) catching up fast!

midnightexpress · 02/06/2009 15:37

Oh thanks weegiemum - I'll do that when I get a minute! Am supposed to be working atm.

(I used to be a uni teacher so well remember the give-a-point-for-that meetings )

pingviner · 02/06/2009 18:24

I was thinking baby bottle filled with decanted bru and buckfast?

I will be there, short, dark and probably knackered

wiggletastic · 02/06/2009 18:55

Oooh, thats 'well sofisticatit' pingviner. You spoiling that baby with the good stuff?

pingviner · 02/06/2009 19:32

what, you thought it was for the baby?
hic

RedHairedGirlie · 02/06/2009 23:21

Hello Ladies,

I would be interested in meeting up - the wee one is 8 weeks now and I feel more confident getting out and about :-) I am over in the east end. I noticed there was a possible meetup on the 8th - I can't make this one as I start a baby massage class but would love to catch up for coffee's / chat in the future.

prettybird · 03/06/2009 00:10

I was about to say I'd love to come, seeing as I now have the luxury of free time since I got made redundant at the end of April - but then I remembered that Monday 8th is an Inset Day and I was going to spend it with ds

But then I thought I could see if I could kill 2 birds with one stone and see if I could tickets for the Doctor Who exhibition, which I've been promising to take him to.

BTW - I am another Southsider - about 10 minutes from the Tramway to the west.

mumtoobe · 03/06/2009 14:59

How Exciting, I haven't been on since I first posted and am so glad we are making progress on the meet up front. I could make Monday the 8th at the kelvingrove poppeto, but might be a bit late as I will be getting the train to Charing Cross.

mumtoobe · 03/06/2009 15:02

RedHairedGirlie, I'm in East End too. If you fancy meeting in Tibo sometime let me know. Cafe Sejuiced is good too.

poppeto · 03/06/2009 20:19

great mumtobe, glad you're going to be able to make it. I'll be travelling over from the south-side, so between that and my dd, there's a good chance that I won't be there for 11 o'clock on the button either

oh, and I should have said as well, I'm tall-ish, dark curly (messy) hair and glasses.

mumtoobe · 04/06/2009 14:04

I'm short with shoulder length dark brown hair. I may even wear my very bright yellow jacket to make me even more obvious, I shall be pushing a black pram.

RedHairedGirlie · 04/06/2009 14:19

Hi Mumtoobe, would be good to meetup sometime in the Eastend, strangely enough was at cafe sejuiced on Tuesday :-) Know is Tibo the outdoor place? I am going to be away next week visiting family but back the week after so could arrange something then.

Was wondering also if anyone fancies doing regular 'exercise' meetup... was at Strathclyde park earlier and there were loads of 'serious' mummy walkers with the jogging gear on and pushing the prams.. need to get back in shape [smilie] I can generally make any day apart from Mondays at the moment..

RedHairedGirlie · 04/06/2009 14:56

PS noticed all the typo's there!!.. trying to juggle feeding me, baby and writing!!!

wiggletastic · 04/06/2009 19:21

RedhairedGirlie, if you are interested, I go to a BuggyFit class at Queens Park on a Tuesday. It is a good class and not too torturous. We usually go for a coffee/chat at the Glass House after. The trainer is called Wendy and her email is wendymacleodpt @ yahoo dot co dot uk. If thats a bit far for you to travel she might know of one a bit nearer.

wiggletastic · 04/06/2009 19:24

I have noticed that Kayleighx who started this thread has not been back on. Its a bit of a shame as it was her idea in the first place. Not sure of anyway to contact her to let her know we have all organised a meet-up. Any ideas glasgow girls?

RedHairedGirlie · 05/06/2009 14:54

Thanks Wiggletastic, will drop her a mail.. where abouts is Queens park though? Is that kind of South Side area?

wiggletastic · 05/06/2009 15:04

Yes Southside on Queens Drive. If you are using public transport then any bus that goes down Victoria Road towards the Victoria Hospital would do. If you are driving then maybe check the best route on the AA website. Maybe Wendy will know of one closer to you if you think getting to Queens Park is a bit of a trek.

RedHairedGirlie · 05/06/2009 16:49

Great - thanks, hopefuly can mnake it over one tuesday soon before all these cakes start to take there toll!!
