Hi

Was wondering if any one else would like to get together one day and have a chat?

The more the merrier, everyone is always saying what is there for children to do, personally i hate going to soft play, swimming etc on my own. Think it may be an idea?

any one else with a suggestion?

Awww I wish I could have been there but I was sitting in a stifling conference room discussing answers on glacial scenery, rural land degredation and development indicators! Now have 177 papers to mark - eek!

Once that is done I would love to have a meet up. If Friday is good for people, Friday at the tramway would be good?

midnightexpress · 09/06/2009 10:27

Ooh I might come along to next one if I can drag myself away from work. My two are at nursery m,w,f am but quite flexible apart from that.

Tramway's good for a meet-up - and the garden is quite good for containing children Nyx (I too have a wandering-off 3 year-old, and a wandering off 2 year-old, usually in opposite directions).

PacificDogwood, I'm as ancient as you . can't believe you're contemplating a 4th - hats off to you!

geordieminx · 09/06/2009 11:40

(((((waves to midnight))))))

Dogwood - I think we have met.. [blush}

geordieminx · 09/06/2009 11:41

that should be obviously.

wiggletastic · 09/06/2009 16:46

Didn't spot you staring prettybird, too busy with baby chat and admiring redhairedgirlie and nyx's DDs, little smashers both.

Tramway suits me and is good whatever the weather. (cakes are good too ) What about a week on Friday, the 19th?

weegiemum · 09/06/2009 16:50

That sounds good to me. Once again I should have no kids with me, but would love to be there. How about at the entranceway tunnel bit? I might even walk down from Crossmyloof! It will give me a break from the marking!

What time suits folk?

PacificDogwood · 09/06/2009 17:00

geordie, I have a sneaky suspicion where we may have met, so please don't out me here .

Friday for a meeting is not so good for me; how about a Monday? Or weekend?
Tramway sounds good, one of those places I have never been to, but always fancied.

Nyx · 09/06/2009 17:11

I didn't notice you either, prettybird - shame you didn't tap one of us on the shoulder and let us know it was you, we'd have waited for you to come out of the exhibition! Wonder if you saw me running around the floor shouting DD's name at one point, as she'd disappeared, and when I got back to the table she'd appeared there before me. Ahem.

I can do Mondays or Fridays, and Tramway does sound good, but will have to have someone let me know what bus to get and where to get off it...I know, I'll google earth it! Is it close to a train station or underground, or would it have to be a bus?

Nyx · 09/06/2009 17:14

Oh, and weekends

geordieminx · 09/06/2009 17:14

no worries., i am anyways., but would like to meet as mumsnetters if thats ok?

Most afternoons ok for me, ds in nursery thursday and friday.

Another good place for a meet is cbd's which is just off the whirlies roundabout at east kilbride. Its indoor but all contained so no escaping children. Has huge sandpit and loads of ride on cars/bikes/tractors. £3 for an hour although only a vending machine so no scrummy cakes.

midnightexpress · 09/06/2009 17:31

I can't make 19th - off down south for a wedding next week.

Nyx, tramway is right next door to Pollokshields East station. Go up the steps and trn right and it's the big buildingon your right. Don't know about buses, but I'm sure there will be some that go past.

Geordie, cbd's sounds good - that's very near us. Will have to give it a try. Anything involving tractors has got to be good. Is it in that retail park bit?

geordieminx · 09/06/2009 20:38

this is cbds its not in retail park, its the industrial estate next to it, opposite the new flats?

Its great, usually on an afternoon we are the only ones there?

poppeto · 09/06/2009 20:40

19th at the tramway would suit me. and even if my daughter decides to go down for another extra long nap, it's really close, so I should be able to run over the road and still catch you all.

geordieminx · 10/06/2009 08:48

(((((((hopes she hasnt scared dogwood away)))))))))

PacificDogwood · 10/06/2009 16:29

Geordie,no, not scared, but RL has a habit of getting in the way of decent MNing ! I am v happy making a pratt of myself contributing on MN, but try and maintain a minimum of decorum in RL .

CBDS looks fab, I have never been but have boys who would think it heaven by the looks of it.

midnightexpress · 10/06/2009 16:44

If you two don't stop it you're going to have to explain to everyone.

Thanks for the link Geordie - looks fab. Might have to wait until ds2 is 3 or can I sneak him in under the radar?

geordieminx · 10/06/2009 16:56

its easy to explain she is reallyb victoria beckham... everyone thinks she lives in LA but really its Uddy... and I bumped into her at Greggs last week but have promised not to out her.

Its only over 3's at weekends as they tend to have a lot of kids parties so it gets busy - during the week there is no limit - as I said, we are usually the only ones there. They also do a ladies rollor disco on a thursday night.

Anyone fancy it monday pm?

midnightexpress · 10/06/2009 17:00

We're away next week, and I'm supposed to be working...

PacificDogwood · 10/06/2009 17:02

Yes, me, me, me! But have school run to do . Is after 3pm too late?
Will they let me in in my 5in Manolos?? . But I could bring sausage rolls for all...

geordieminx · 10/06/2009 17:21

Midnight - you away next week?

I could do any time after 1ish - not sure what time last entry is?

wiggletastic · 11/06/2009 07:59

Ok, reading back it looks like some of us can do Friday 19th at the Tramway and some can do Monday 15th at CBDS in EK but Midnight is on hols so can't do either. Shall we stick with this plan or move both to the following week? What do you think girls?

midnightexpress · 11/06/2009 09:59

Don't worry about me ladies. Y'all go ahead and have fun. I really am supposed to be the breadwinner in this here family at the moment and should be working while the work's there .

Though a roller disco in EK would be hilarious. The mind boggles.

geordieminx · 11/06/2009 10:16

Tis on a thursday night - fantastic exercise, all you need is your own boots

I will organise it if anyone else fancies it?

trixymalixy · 11/06/2009 11:30

Why have I never heard of CBDS before?!?!??

DS would love it, but a roller disco sounds hilarious!!!!!

If only I wasn't 32 weeks pregnant......

Anyway hello everyone, I will be on mat leave in a couple of weeks and up for some meetups so will keep an eye on this thread.

geordieminx · 11/06/2009 11:41

Hey Trix - yep he would love it - C does - and the great thing is they can access everything themselves so you dont have to run round after them like I have to do at the soft play. Are you working on Monday?

Also - I posted on your other thread babout restuarants - not sure whether you have seen it? We went to fifi and allys in the end for afternoon tea - was lovely!
