"we are going to Nanny's now"
"Why?"
"Becasue Weds is Nanny's day that she takes you to Tumble tots"
"Why?"
"Because she enjoys watching you do it"
"Why?"

Could you goggle for me please.

That Ealing disco looks fun - anyone fancy a group outing one Sunday afternoon - DS loves a good disco.

mygreatauntgriselda · 11/03/2009 13:21

Slng ad Ros YES PLEASE...
to cash donations this weekend! :

slng · 11/03/2009 13:31

I always say "what do you think" to these endless questions, and sometimes you do get some surprising answers...

Ros - terrible thing to happen! And that news just in from Germany about shooting in a school. I had to turn off the radio quickly before they interview the parents...

MrsR - surely no such thing as the largest number??

sfxmum · 11/03/2009 13:38

or the smallest anyway I digress

last year BIL got beaten up leaving the pub because he just happened to someone to be more considered (can't remember what about) on his way in - how macho

google is the fountain of all knowledge here, question answered with 'oh I really don't know'
mummy/ daddy google it

OP posts:
sfxmum · 11/03/2009 13:39

happened to ask someone that is

MrsRecycle · 11/03/2009 14:10

That's what I thought slng! But it's a googleplex with 30 zeros.

We moved out of wandsworth when a gun was held to dh's head whilst me, heavily pg, sitting next to him. All he was trying to do was push a car that had broken down. He hasn't learnt his lesson and still helps people out.

stepfordwife · 11/03/2009 14:23

hello everyone
ros, that's dreadful. thank god your cousin's right. how old is he?
after NYE, my cousin left her 17-year-old son asleep until the obligatory 1pm or so, went to to wake him up to find his face swollen to twice its size, bloody and bruised. he'd been beaten up at the train station, knew who it was but refused to say.
i'm never letting mine out.

mrs.r - my dh is like that. have made it quite clear to him that a dead hero is no good to me and my children. but what has the world come to if you don't help people? half the time you do it out of instinct, imo, if you actually thought about it, you probably wouldn't do it.

oh - and on a cheerier note kew, would deffo be up for sun arvo disco some time. sounds fab.
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 11/03/2009 14:29

ros, yes in another parenting life, i swore i'd never say 'because i said so."
now i have a loop of "things-my-own-mum-said-that-i-swore-i'd-never-say" i repeat until i bore myself, never mind the little fellas..

it goes something like...
"In-a-minute-We'll-see-How-many-times-do-i-have-to-tell-you?Take-your-coat-off-inside-or-yo u-won't-feel-the-benefit.I'm-not-your-servant-you-know."BLAH BLAH BLAH

SushiMummy · 11/03/2009 14:55

Ros - how awful for your cousin and your family. Hope he makes a full and quick recovery.

All these stories about gun held on someone's head, stolen bikes, etc make me and .

So what's happening on Sunday? Can I come along, too?

sfxmum · 11/03/2009 14:59

sushi there is dinner out this Friday too

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 11/03/2009 16:19

yes what is happening on Sunday - are we waiting to see if weather is fine or are we all just piling around to Ros's?

slng · 11/03/2009 17:24

Does anyone know if the shoe fitting people at Mothercare in Kew is any good?

sfxmum · 11/03/2009 17:31

slng imo there is one that is good most of the time blonde girl tad surly

Kew Ros et al apparently it will be sunny on Sunday but am waiting to see

OP posts:
SJ99 · 11/03/2009 19:27

Hello all

Ros - that is terrible news about your cousin hope he's making a good recovery

Mellow/PCW - I hope your respective leaks get fixed soon with the minimum amount of hassle to you both

Slng - FWIW I had a rubbish experience at M/c in Kew

DS seems to have skipped the why? stage and moved and constantly asks how everything is spelt, equally annoying!

Disco looks good, so when are we all going?

sfxmum · 11/03/2009 20:39

apparently the police will look for fingerprints on the bike business dh on the phone when they called
"- blimey you have gone all CSI, in the past you did not even bother taking a statement from me"
are the police ok with sarky comments?

OP posts:
pcworld · 11/03/2009 20:48

Sushi, did I see you, your dh and your ds in TEsco Osterly a couple of Saturdays ago? Have only met you once so was not sure. Rock n' roll anyway, hey?

Mothercare Kew not really that great for shoe fitting, in my experience.

Kewcumber · 11/03/2009 20:49

"Sushi, did I see you, your dh and your ds in TEsco Osterly a couple of Saturdays ago?" No you can't have because sushi and her DH and DS spend their saturdays following me around various M&S cafes of the south east.

SushiMummy · 12/03/2009 07:34

pcw - yes, that's us alright. DH used to hate going to that Tesco (too big and too busy) but DS loves the cafe... OMG, now everyone knows we spend a lot of time at various cafes...

KC -

SushiMummy · 12/03/2009 07:38

slng - Kew mothercare shoe shop (Clarks, right?) has a foot measuring machine which measured my DS's size wrong so don't try that.

rosmerta · 12/03/2009 08:18

Defintely don't like M/c for shoes. What about the shoe shop in Kew village?

Cousin is 18, is slowly recovering & they're trying to get back to normal but its not easy.

I'd be up for the disco!

This Sunday, I'm happy for everyone to come here if the weather isn't great.

Kew, I'm not sure googling 'she enjoys watching you' is a good idea, can imagine the sites that would pop up

mellow2 · 12/03/2009 08:36

sj - dd is the same. she's either typing new words on my Macbook laptop or with scrabble tiles.

She also asks questions about web tech stuff when dh and I talk about it, like what are domain names and how do websites work. When I attempt to explain, she would blank me.

Dh can't wait for her to take over building my web sites.

sfxmum · 12/03/2009 11:30

good morning all

slow start for us here due to restless night
but dd is at nursery and I managed to do my thing

slng meant to say that the shop in Kew village, called shoe station and one small step in Sheen are better for measuring feet and good service, just ignore the poncier items on sale
dd needs new wellies so might go there today

dd's current obsession is playing I spy and odd one out this often includes the Captain of the Axiom or some other WALL-E character

can't believe I am going out Friday and Saturday, not sure if I want to really how did this happen?

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 12/03/2009 12:25

Ros so sorry to hear about your cousin - poor lad Is he OK?

Slng echo the views that MC is mucho crappo - I recommend One Small Step One Giant Leap in Sheen - they are great

mygreatauntgriselda · 12/03/2009 12:26

Is there a meet up on Sunday as well???

rosmerta · 12/03/2009 12:59

There is auntie, either at mine or Kew!

Slng, there's a One Small Step in Ealing as well
