sfx - Disco for kids!! My friend's running it. I haven't been to one yet but have heard the tunes she played in the last one which were fantastic

mellow2 · 10/03/2009 16:58

Sfx,
Sympathies. We've get a lot of bikes stolen from our bike shed too. Sorry I was too wrapped up in my plumbing problem to mention it earlier.

MrsR,
Ds is a Sep 10 starter. I was that dd starts school in Sep 10 too.

You can tell I'm a nervous wreck atm.

Oops. Not that much of a nervous wreck.

sfxmum · 10/03/2009 17:07

thanks for link slng the birthday is not until June so atm am favouring the 1 O'clock cub for the indoors and outdoors space
dd apparently just wants to take a cake to nursery, or so she says today

mellow the plumbing problems sound terrible, hope they find the problem soon

I think DH is quite angry as he uses the bike everyday to go to work, it is insured but besides the point today

fabby for Sunday meet up both options are great

dd is calling me to play princesses and knights, make a change from the ice cream van

mellow2 · 10/03/2009 17:18

sfx - I've got to plan dd's birthday party. It's only 6 weeks away. again. We were going to send a birthday card to Cbeebies but I don't know if we will get round to it now.

MrsRecycle · 10/03/2009 17:18

Oh no mellow - the leak sounds awful - I remember seeing a programme before about a new build that the builders hadnt connected the waste pipe - are you getting them involved (or I guess the insurance company will).

I know it is a re ds isn't it!

sfxmum · 10/03/2009 17:26

mellow you can do an electronic onw and play on the computer it is read out by one of the presenters, DH said he will do a card to send to CBeebies here

OP posts:
sfxmum · 10/03/2009 17:27

to send one in they ask minimum 8 weeks, dd sent out her letter ages ago and it was read out last friday

OP posts:
mellow2 · 10/03/2009 17:48

Sfx - Thanks for the link.

Mrs R - The management company is dealing with it. Apparently there have been previous incidents involving leaking waste pipes. Shoddy work indeed.

rosmerta · 10/03/2009 17:55

Mellow, hope they get it sorted quickly

Sfx, sorry about dh's bike, any luck with the cctv?

Speaking of CBeebies, ds1 has done one of their flower request things & sent it in. Now he keeps asking when it will be shown!

Slng, that disco thing looks like quite good fun!

Must be something in the air today, I've had 2 grumpy boys this afternoon. I'm very weary now!

slng · 10/03/2009 19:30

Mellow - hope all get sorted soon.

Ros - I shall miss this one because we are going on holiday but hopefully will make the next one. Also Drayton Court has large beer garden with climbing frame, so good for having a drink on a sunny day while kids play.

Had a super grumpy DS1 today - I wasn't impressed with his table manners and he wasn't impressed with not having pudding ... Is 5 too young to be reminded what not to do at the dinner table?

pcworld · 10/03/2009 20:03

Mellow - sorry to hear about the leak. That's stressful and I hope you get it resolved soon. We have a similar situation here as it happens. Am either going to have the very nice (new!) tiles in our upstairs bathroom ripped out - OR the hall ceiling taken down - in an effort to source the leak. Have opted for hall ceiling We will then have to have our front room redecorated as well as the hall ceiling reinstated. Am trying not to think about it as it is such a nuisance.

SFX - sorry about bike, that is just maddening

Ros, we might be around on Sunday too. ds has started crawling and is very busy indeed lol!

Am really looking forward to the Easter hols, dd seems to be really tired and out of sorts at the moment.

mellow2 · 10/03/2009 20:06

Thanks ros and slng.

PCWorld - That's a real shame. And it wasn't so long ago that you had your house decorated.

rosmerta · 10/03/2009 20:32

Pc, what a shame about your house too, hope it doesn't take too long

Judging by the shouting & swearing coming from next door, I'm guessing that a) football's on & b) Chelsea's playing. Oh joy

sfxmum · 10/03/2009 20:33

pcW sorry to hear that sounds really stressful too and then the crawling near toddler how time flies

apparently I am getting a bike dh determined to carry on biking with the entire family, best learn how to do it this time
regarding CCTV it seems to be working and we have been promised that the tape will be kept, the coppers not that interested and asled us to report online - when did that happen?

and btw dd said that when she is bigger she will get a bike seat on her bike so she can take daddy for rides, so that is old age transport sorted

I've just found out one of my younger cousins was stabbed on Saturday . He's fine, back home now, but he was stabbed 3 times & lost a lot of blood

mellow2 · 10/03/2009 23:37

Ros - oh dear that sounds dreadful.

MrsRecycle · 11/03/2009 06:36

Gosh how awful ros - where did it happen? Glad he is recovering from it.

pcworld · 11/03/2009 08:07

Oh my goodness Ros, how absolutely dreadful. I hope he is ok, have the police got the perpetrator? Where did this happen?

rosmerta · 11/03/2009 08:07

It was in Blackpool, my aunt emailed the link to the news story. He got in an argument with a group & they stabbed him in the leg as he walked away, he's very lucky to be alive

pcworld · 11/03/2009 08:25

Oh my goodness, very frightening, Ros I hope the police have got the person who did it.

sfxmum · 11/03/2009 09:15

oh Ros how awful glad he is recovering, I hate these senseless violence, people don't seem to just disagree and leave it at that major violence always seems to follow

dd keen to go to nursery early I suppose being there before 9 is good training for big school

OP posts:
rosmerta · 11/03/2009 12:52

Afaik, they haven't caught them yet!

Ds1 has entered the 'why' phase! Dh & I agreed that we would never say 'because we said so' so I've been googling things all morning. Like why is chocolate delicious & why mummy's juice as bubbles. I thought that might discourage him but it seems to have had the opposite effect!

MrsRecycle · 11/03/2009 13:14

It never stops ros - spent the last 2 days googling stuff for ds2 but instead of why, it's what - largest number, how big is Australia.... Am awaiting tonights set of questions.

Gosh how awful to be stabbed like that, what is the world coming to?
