tillyfernackerpants · 27/04/2009 11:12

Sj, I went to a Kodak place, they were ok. Well done to ds2 on the baby rice, ds2 here has another month to go though I think he is rather keen!

sfxmum · 27/04/2009 11:18

was looking at dd's passport such a baby and you can see dh's hands holding her up so cute

SJ white lies mum is in her 60's lovely Irish woman I used to work with

well done on start of weaning here comes the orange goo

OP posts:
SJ99 · 27/04/2009 12:51

Sfx - that is cute seeing hands in photo!

Think I'll stick with the rice this week and take it slow, next week orange goo

Can't say I've heard of band but might check them out when I get a min. Your friend must be very proud of her son

Ting Tings came on radio and DS1 wanted to know what song it was so I told him, next question was 'what are the actions?'

Tilly - sorry not free next Mon, have my parents and bro over

pcworld · 27/04/2009 14:06

SJ, I got the dcs passport pics taken at Snappy Snaps Chiswick (I think there might be a branch in your local high street?) - they were v good.

Just back from another right royal soaking but I do have a car now Exactly one hour until the next one.

Wonder what the forecast is like for tomorrow. We have the plasterer coming at 0800am and I need to be out all morning. Gah! What can I say, some weeks are better than others, eh?

AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 27/04/2009 17:41

SJ, I am about to sort out our France photos for DS too (for our holiday quite near you at almost the same time!). I was just going to take the photo myself though, and print and cut out.

DS is getting to like tummy time after all, but has also discovered how to roll over onto his back again. The massage teacher who persuaded me to persist with it was very pleased!

'what are the actions?' -

slng · 27/04/2009 18:24

Hello!

What a rainy day!

We did various children passport photos at some Kodak place and snappy snaps. They all seem to be fine. It's the passport office that's the problem ... First time round they rejected DS1's photos until the Kodak person phoned them up (!) and then they accepted it. It's all a bit inexplicable. Anyway DS1's passport due for renewal .

Baked my first sourdough bread!

slng · 27/04/2009 18:27

Muesli - Massage teachers are great, aren't they? But eccentric sometimes, I think. My one was very pleased when babies clasp their hands together. She thinks that's a sign of contentment. Must say I believe her. DS2 clasps his hands together all the time! I'm not biased at all ...

AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 27/04/2009 20:53

slng - my massage teacher said that if babies learn to 'bottom-shuffle' instead of crawl, it can lead to issues with 'orientation' in later life. I said that actually I used to bottom-shuffle as a baby. Cue some awkward umm'ing and ahh'ing and 'so, er, have you found that you suffer from orientation problems?' I said I could think of many occasions..

Congrats on sourdough bread achievement! What will you be having with it?

slng · 27/04/2009 21:09

Museli - and crawling is supposed to be really good for babies, which is lucky since DS1 crawled for nearly a year before he decided to try the two-legged approach. It's all very funny.

Not sure yet what to eat with sourdough bread ...

mygreatauntgriselda · 27/04/2009 21:49

Hi - just back from Barcelona

Wld love to do meet up but like Tilly a away lat weekend of May

SFX are you thinking of using MY CM - I've been using her for 7 years, I introduced both Steppy and Kew to her and they both love her

SJ99 · 28/04/2009 10:56

Hello Auntie - how was Spain?

Sign up here for night out www.mumsnet.com/Talk/local_richmond_upon_thames/744346-May-Night-Out-Wagamama-Richmond-Sign-u p-here?msgid=15245896

Anyone else?

Museli - that's interesting about orientation & bottom shuffling. I was a bottom shuffler, it explains a lot

SJ99 · 28/04/2009 10:57

oops link didn't work

sfxmum · 28/04/2009 11:06

SJ that is so cute with actions

Hi auntie saw the pics looks gorgeous hope you had a nice time. not using childminder as such just enquiring after party venue but too expensive with min 20 children ouch

slng yeah for sourdough love it.

museli interesting ideas and great with the rolling

all is well in the genteel world of Kew pushchair has been returned so apparently wasn't taken by hard up investment banker

OP posts:
SJ99 · 28/04/2009 11:09

Auntie - also just seen your pics, look fab

Sfx - great news about pushchair

I made scones, have some family friends and wee baby coming over this afternoon. Right, better get on with some more cooking before pick up

slng · 28/04/2009 11:12

Morning!

sfx - must go to "our" sand dunes! It's on Boulevard d'Angleterre, coming from the sea it's just over the hill on the right. What a local knowledge I am! How has DD got 20 friends!? I haven't got 20 friends. What a social outcast I am ...

SJ99 · 28/04/2009 11:14

Slng - are you coming on night out?

slng · 28/04/2009 11:35

SJ - have signed up!

sfxmum · 28/04/2009 11:41

well slng precisely I wanted to invite about 10 or 12 but 20 min I expect is to follow the trend of inviting the entire class

btw thanks for local info, did you see anyone jogging? am taking my gear it is my safety blanket

OP posts:
slng · 28/04/2009 11:48

sfx - I think lots of joggers. And dog-walkers and kite-flyers.

mygreatauntgriselda · 28/04/2009 13:26

SFX lol at the idea of hard up bankers stealing buggies. 5 state primary schools in Richmond are taking and extra reception class in Sept, including our one, 'presumably mainly 'cos of people having to stop paying school fees

SJ - will go to your thread now - thanks

BTW thanks for nice comments about holiday snaps and LOs both of you

Kewcumber · 28/04/2009 14:57

went to see gastroenterologist about my various anaemias yeasterday - was at the hosptial form 9.30-2pm

I have pernicious anaemia which he was very unimpressed by "B12 injection for life - your GP will sort it out" end of discussion.

More interested in my (iron) anaemia - he says most likely I either have a bleeding polyp or coeliac disease. Tests for both on 1 June.

Hope all else is well with everyone. DS happy to be back at nursery.

sfxmum · 28/04/2009 15:20

Kew you need a few more exotic diseases to be interesting seeing as the terrible infection is on the way
when do you know for sure? or which one would be more exotic and interesting?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 28/04/2009 16:24

Well both have pros and cons -

Polyp can be removed (usually straightaway) but can be cancerous.

Coeliac disease isn't life threatening but can't eat gluten again - gluten is in everything it seems! Soy sauce has gluten in it.

Coeliac is automimmune commonly associated with pernicious anaemia (which is also autoimmune) but 1 in 5 people by their 40's have polyps so both are equally likely.

Will know at next appointment at end of June.

At last count I have anitbodies again my platelets, my B12 absorption, possibly against wheat absorption, antibodies to Hepatitis and tubercolosis and smallpox. Its a wonder there anything working at all!

sfxmum · 28/04/2009 17:27

you know Kew if this was a Hallmark channel afternoon movie of the week everyone would say it was far fetched piling on the various medical ailments
I do hope it is something easily fixed

on dd's list of things to take on holiday
Kitty the doll, tiara, assorted 'Jewellery' and swimsuit from whence did she sprung? I wonder

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 28/04/2009 17:30

SFX we all have a Kitty somewhere deep inside us

Kew - crikey - you are coping so well with all the health issues you have had recently. How do you feel in yourself?
