SJ - We did part BLW. It was great. I couldn't stand making the purees after about 1 month. Does ds2 posset/vomit his milk? Dd never had a problem with that. If she did, I think BLW would be scarier as there would be more gagging/choking.

mellow2 · 24/04/2009 07:12

PCW and tilly - thank you.

pcworld · 24/04/2009 09:29

SJ,that's what I did - started on puree and then graduated to baby led weaning pretty quickly - for a while we did a mix. We have a wooden floor in the dining room but nevertheless, food still seems to get spattered all over the cream wall behind the highchair plus on the door! ds likes to grab a handful of food and wave it around wildly There is no escaping the mess!

Morning, everyone else - hope you are all well today, Tilly that's good news regarding the swimming, we are working on that here as well, dd goes with dh every Sunday and I am signing up to classes during the summer hols. Off now to hang out the washing and stop loitering on here, slacker that I am

sfxmum · 24/04/2009 09:58

good morning all

slow and easy start here did not wake up until nearly 9 then stayed in bed reading stories whenever we get ready we will be heading out to Sheen

about swimming I think I need to get dd some lessons I have swam since forever but have no clue how to teach really, besides I learnt how to swim in the sea, I expect my parents worried less for our safety

OP posts:
slng · 24/04/2009 10:38

Good morning!

I'm strangely wishing it's not so sunny. My eyes hurt...

SFX - I have a book on how to teach children to swim . We are stuck at the stage where they have to try putting their heads underwater...

SJ99 · 24/04/2009 14:46

Slng - what's worng with you eye? have you had it checked out? Hope it improves soon

Tilly - did you just take DS swimming or have you started classes? Must try and see if there are any classes which coincide with preschool then I can take DS2

Sfx - learning to swim in the sea must've been exhilerating. My mum learnt to swim in a well with snakes in it

Museli - nice to catch up with you earlier

PCW - will probably do a similar approach, can't see that I'll be doing the purees for long as I just don't have the time. Re: mess good job we're in rented accom

SJ99 · 24/04/2009 14:56

So who's playing out?

tillyfernackerpants · 25/04/2009 04:19

Sj, its ds1 who's having lessons, though I would like to take ds2 to lessons as well. Richmond pool seem to have lessons on every day in the morning so there will probsbly be one that suits

Have put my name down on the night out thread

And another 3am start!

mellow2 · 25/04/2009 07:25

Sympathies tilly.

I have been sleeping 4/5 hours every night for the last 3 months and that's murder.

Rubbish weather this morning. I was hoping the weather will be nice over the weekend.

MrsRecycle · 25/04/2009 08:15

Mellow - congrats on the contract, but you must be feeling sad about leaving dd. How long is it for?

Sj - thanks for organizing night out - can't believe you're weening ds2 - where has the time gone?

Hi to all! Work is still good although I killed a server yesterday for 2 hours! Oops. Goodjob it wasn't the mumsnet one eh? Our house sale seems to be going through but once the valuation has been done We'll be more happy. We are looking at loads of houses in Rye, peasmarsh, Romney today. There is a 4 bed one that would make us mortgage free. But the primary school in Peasmarsh seems to be better catered for dd2. So lots to think about.

mellow2 · 25/04/2009 09:09

Mrs R - thanks. I will miss dd. It's a 3 month rolling contract.

mellow2 · 25/04/2009 09:10

Mrs R - Things are certainly moving quickly with your sale. When is the valuation booked for?

slng · 26/04/2009 09:37

SJ99 · 26/04/2009 09:42

sfxmum · 26/04/2009 17:48

slng happy birthday to minislng, so did you make it to Hyde park?

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 26/04/2009 18:26

Dh did very well, finished in 5hrs 7mins & we did manage to see him around the 24 mile mark so there was a big cheering section for him, he reckons it helped him finish . Ds1 had fun too telling us all the costumes he could see!

Anyway, have to go & get the boys ready for bed!

SJ99 · 26/04/2009 19:41

Well done Tilly DH - hope he's relaxing in an ice cold bath now!

Nice to see some of you earlier, Sushi - hope your DS feels better soon

Off to book our french trip now, ooh la la

tillyfernackerpants · 26/04/2009 20:05

I seem to have missed a meet up today, oh well! Does anyone fancy meeting up on Bank Holiday Monday week after next?

Sj, dh decided against the bath on account of having to step in & out of it . He has gone to get a takeaway though!

sfxmum · 27/04/2009 09:19

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 27/04/2009 09:33

morning,

Sfx, we're having a quiet day as well. Ds1 in nursery this morning but he's had two full days of running around so think he could do with a quiet afternoon. And as its raining, we may as well stay at home

sfxmum · 27/04/2009 10:57
