ok finally Christmas is over

OP posts:
sfxmum · 14/04/2009 11:09

good morning all

KewC probably Saturday is best but will keep you posted, hope the weather is nice and you are resting properly there

tilly- it is Marble Hill easy walking distance from Richmond, but it is easy for me as the R68 goes from the retail park to Marble hill

pcW can't recommend Pilates highly enough for back trouble, it is close to miracle cure imo

am a bit doubtful about it as party venue now as they do not allow the children inside, only access to kitchen for food prep, and this is England after all the weather is not to be trusted

muesli hope you and your boy are well

dd is on sugar withdrawal and there is still chocolate about despite dh valiant efforts yesterday to diminish the stock

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 14/04/2009 17:23

Might get the car & drive to Marble Hill! Would probably be easier than towing a 3yr old along!

Have just had a productive afternoon in the garden, lots of weeding (& I mean lots ) & even mowed the lawn (first ever in my life!). Just wondering if I'd be able to put up a 9ft electric fence with barbed wire to stop the girls next door popping up everytime we go outside?

sfxmum · 14/04/2009 20:30

oh a garden

dd has become a huge fan of Morph and Wallace and Gromit she is constantly asking to go on youtube to watch it, she has also starting talking about HSM I blame the nursery for that last one

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 14/04/2009 20:36

Sfx, ds1 is also Wallace & Gromit fan!

SJ99 · 14/04/2009 20:46

Greetings from Wales

Hope everyone had a nice Easter and is doing well. Trip so far has been great. Off to a whiskey distillery tomorrow, I never knew that the Welsh even made any whisky!

Toodle pips for now, will catch up on your news next week

pcworld · 14/04/2009 21:00

Oooh SJ hope you manage to get a free whiskey! Although the Irish make the best whiskey

AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 14/04/2009 21:45

Hi SJ - have fun with the Welsh whisky. Let's have another Starbucks Teddington coffee when you get back - I want to sample that omelette you had!

In other news, MiL coped okay with her first DS babysitting job. In the 4 hours she had him, she took him out for a walk 3 times . And I have completed my St John Ambulance Child & Infant Emergency First Aid course, so I can definitely perform CPR on an armless, legless mannequin if nothing else. Now off to practice the recovery position on the sofa with a glass of wine.

sfxmum · 14/04/2009 22:04

speaking of meet ups can we please sort out another evening out? last one was lovely

muesli- I used to have to do First aid every year and the baby mannequin was awfully realistic it used to creep me out before I had a baby, I could barely do it afterwards

SJ sampling whisky sounds like a worthy holiday pursuit

tilly, they are funny aren't they, dd loves the contraptions current favourite the snowmatron

dropped in to see steppie on getting back from IOW as DS spotted her DD and insisted on saying hello. Sadly discovered that Steppie's mother died unexpectedly the day before and she was away sorting it out.

Doubt that there's anything we can do but thought you might like to know.

sfxmum · 15/04/2009 15:06

hello all

so sorry to hear of steppie's loss
huge hug

hope everyone is doing well

here we have a quiet day filled with the mundane and rather baffling task of trying to find new curtains, never knew there were so many choices and all so incredibly boring

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 15/04/2009 17:48

Kew that is such bad news about Steppie's Mum She was really close to her MUm, who regularly stayed with her and used to look after the two boys before her DD was born. Poor Steppie - what a shock. Did she say what the cause was? . Will send her a message and see if their is anything we can do. I feel really sad for her

Tilly, we used to have that problem a few years ago - everytime we went in the garden, the two kids next door would rush up to the stop of their climbing frame and stare at us over the fence. It was pre-kids and I used to find it a real intrusion. Mind you, now my DCs do it to our next door neighbours, from their play house

SFX - we all love Wallace and Grommit too and often spend the odd half our watching stuff on youtube with plasticine animals singing etc. Have you seen the Gummy Bear song?...Have you sen Laughing Babies, with the Mum and her spooky identical quadruplets all cackling together - so hilarious

Would love to catch up on Saturday but am going to Barcelona and Sunday with DS1 and DD so will be running around like a headless chicken buying bits and bobs and pressies for the friends we are staying with

tillyfernackerpants · 15/04/2009 17:51

poor steppie , big hugs to her

Auntie, it is really intrusive but ds1 seems to like the attention from them! They were throwing a ball back & forwards over the fence yesterday so he enjoys it, I just find it a pain!

Will look up the W&G stuff on youtube now, ds1 is a big fan of youtube, he's always asking me to find stuff on there!

SushiMummy · 16/04/2009 07:24

I am very sorry to hear about steppie's loss. I'm thinking of her and her family...

Kewcumber · 16/04/2009 11:05

It looks like Seppies mum died of a heart attack in her sleep. As steppie says - her dream death but that does case such a terrible shock for those left behind.

sfxmum · 16/04/2009 13:09

hello all

seems like it will be raining tomorrow so maybe 1o'clock not the best idea

hope everyone is ok

my course starts the week we are away so am trying to get some advance work done as well as helping dh so it has been busy

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 16/04/2009 19:39

oh gosh, just popping back on here to see how everyone is and can't believe poor Steppie - it wasn't so long ago that her mum was staying with her. My thoughts and prayers are with her at the moment.

Completely manic now I'm back at work, so little time to post on here. But really enjoying the new role. Would love a meet-up sfx - the last one was fun wasn't it. Richmond is fine with me.

Kewcumber · 16/04/2009 20:20

WOULD LOVE A MEET UP SOON.

sfx ARE YOU FREE TO COME AROUND sATURDAY AFTERNOON TO ASSEMBLE TENT?

aNYONE WANT TO COME FOR A LAUGH

Oops sorry capslock incident

sfxmum · 16/04/2009 20:48

kew Saturday should be fine

mrsR glad at least work is going ok, yes let's meet up soon

anyone around tomorrow? not sure what we will do as it seems it will be raining again and I am supposed to get a delivery at some point

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 16/04/2009 20:57

Another one here happy for a meetup, cheap & cheerful as usual

MrsR, glad you're enjoying the new job, hope it continues. How's the house move going?

Sfx, we are kind of around tomorrow. We're having a quiet morning at home & then to the toy library in the afternoon if you'd like to join us at any point?

Things pretty quiet here, ds2 sleeping is much better, & I'm not writing an essay!

sfxmum · 17/04/2009 07:46

good morning all

tilly will give it a miss today, dd was up with a fever, coughing and singing Do Re Mi
sofa day I think

hope everyone is well

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 17/04/2009 07:54

sfx, no worries, hope dd is feeling better today. Given the weather, a sofa day sounds good!

pcworld · 17/04/2009 08:15

SFX, hope dd is better soon. Tilly, what time are you heading to the toy library at? And where is it we might be interested. Think that this morning we will go out for coffee!

sfxmum · 17/04/2009 08:19

thanks it seems like your run of the mill cold cough combo
it is quite miserable out isn't it?
just ordered some more summer clothes, living in hope I am

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 17/04/2009 08:29

sfx

Pc, toy library, go down the high street then first left after Somerfield & there's parking around the park. Its on 1.30-3.30pm, they have tea & coffee as well. Unfortunately Pauline isn't there today so no cake

pcworld · 17/04/2009 08:32

Thanks, Tilly. Don't think we'll make it today as this is ds's sleep time. Normally I would walk / bus it and he can sleep - but can't face it today in this weather {{wimp emoticon}}

SFX, I blame this rainy weather on you - if you WILL order summer clothes then look what happens ...
