OP posts:
stepfordwife · 08/04/2009 19:56

not sure, sfx.
as usual didn't get our act together to use the priority booking line.
bless....dd also does a rousing rendition of mamma mia

SJ99 · 08/04/2009 20:08

When is Kew swing again?

Didn't realise choc guy was on tonight as well, I missed it last night as watched the footie instead and forgot to tape it, d'oh.

Sfx - Yesterday Ds asked to go to preschool but had to remind he has 2wks hols for Easter. I have the option of sending him in Aug, haven't made my mind up either - part of me likes that he'll have some continuity & I get quality time with Ds2, but then the other half of me quite likes the idea of having the days free esp when the weather will be good and before we'll be committed to a 5day wk routine , anyway probably won't make my mind up til July!

COV - sounds awful, hope you get some rest and a break from the washing m/c

KC - like the tent

sfxmum · 08/04/2009 21:06

kew swing

slng we had moved by then, never met landlord went through agency

wine and chocolate in the house must dash

OP posts:
sfxmum · 08/04/2009 21:09

SJ that is some of what I think as well

today one of the little boys at nursery came up to me and said 'minisfx had a great day at nursery' apparently they all like her special Easter bunny headgear sent by grany and granpa

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 09/04/2009 06:54

sfx, can't really add anything re nursery breaks that somebody else hasn't said! Just need to do what feels right for you & dd. I know that ds1 doesn't like taking a nursery break so he will continue going before school, he does seem to like the continuity!

Dodgy landlords, had a few of those. My favourite one was someone who was supposed to be a 'friend' & refused to give us our deposit back on the basis that we hadn't paid it . We haven't spoken to him in a while

Running, sfx & pcworld do you fancy doing the Run for Life 5k? Have been thinking about doing it, but did it on my own once before & it was boring. Much rather do the 5k with someone! There's one in Richmond Park in June

tillyfernackerpants · 09/04/2009 06:56

Oops, pressed post before I'd finished!

Cov, hope the brood is feeling better & you don't get ill!

Train journey went as well as can be expected. Had to hold ds2 the whole way as nowhere to put the car seat but both boys behaved well, even if I did have to ask ds1 to be a bit quieter at times!!

Right, am off to York today, need to get organised!

SushiMummy · 09/04/2009 07:34

Morning all.

Tilly - glad the train journey went well. Have fun in York. Used to go there a lot when I was a student in Leeds, first boyfriend and that... Good old times...

CoV - oh dear, D&V bug. DS had it a few weeks ago. Hope all get better soon and most importantly, you don't catch it.

steppie - is the choc bloke from the choc shop in Richmond? It was lovely to bump into you the other day, btw. I love your hair, new colour, right?

KC - have fun with the tent. Has Gherkin-kun seen it, yet?

sfx - let me guess... is it Jared? Oh, DS and I will miss all the funny boys/girls after Sept. Whispers - J's dad is rather good looking.[shameless emoticon]

ComeOeufeneer · 09/04/2009 10:03

Morning all. Another bad night. DH was back and forth to the bathroom about every 15-20 mins all night, DD threw up 3 times, and ds still has a dodgy tummy and was maoning and graoning all night. I was up at 5.30am putting the first of 3 loads of washing on (towels sheets, duvets, covers, nighties etc). I am exhausted.

We are supposed to be going to my sisters for 4 days tomorrow, but that is looking unlikely. Therefore I will have to go shopping to get some food in as the fridge is empty. I am totally fed up

sfxmum · 09/04/2009 10:30

good morning all

tilly that is good to hear, I only tell dd to pipe down when she is cranky if she is happy I just let her get on with it nevermind the surly commuters am so community minded

and tilly yes to race it is on my list

suhsi yes it was, is that his line? don't know who is the dad have seen a few fairly good looking men but they all seem to blend into one except maybe one but he is not good looking

cov poor you I hope the bug goes quick and that you don't get it

thanks all again for feedback and supportive words

Got stalked by this really odd couple in M&S cafe again this evening. They made us sit with them and drink our coffee - I'm thinking of avoiding the place until the quality of the clientele picks up a bit.

stepfordwife · 11/04/2009 13:12

my name is stepfordwife..
and i'm a hot cross bun bunaholic..

stared off innocently enjoying the odd one with a cuppa..
then started increasing use..
now i'm on two or three a day..
someone help me please...

(don't even like raisins.....)

stepfordwife · 11/04/2009 13:19

happy easter, all

kew, yes i know of whom you speak..i was stalked by one half of aforementioned couple in w.h.smith...not even the comfort of a cappuccino to be had.....

sushi..it was lovely to see you, too . different colour? you mean it wasn't grey?!

cov...how's the sick house? hope you manage to have some sort of easter break
ds1 got a viral thing

easter hols flying past here. went to chessington for whole day on wednesday. little fellas thrilled but i find adventure parks a bit like a BR experience - captive audience eating crap, expensive food all day

oh - and highlight of weekend - Dr who on tonight

AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 11/04/2009 17:41

Lordy, I've just realised how I've been spelling my name

sfxmum · 12/04/2009 18:41

bit confused has to who you are

hello all hope everyone had a nice Easter we went to kew as per usual, quite nice if a bit soggy

we will be going back tomorrow if anyone should like to meet up, dh needs time alone to study so will aim to be out for a good few hours

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 12/04/2009 20:55

Hoppy Easter everyone

Anyone do Easter Egg hunt in Kew? We gave it a miss, cos of dreary weather and choc oveload here

Took the kids on the Baby P Justice demo yesterday, they were so good and treated it like a big adventure. We met lots of lovely people, including 150,000 Sri Lankan protesters . The Sri Lankans gave me a DVD to watch about the mass genocide, but am too scared to put it on

Steppy still on the Hot X Buns ?
I'm addicted to those Lindt Golden bunnies!

Muesli give us a clue

AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 13/04/2009 09:24

Sorry - didn't mean to confuse anyone! You don't know me - I'm not another MNer posing as a bowl of cereal, honest! Just rather mortified at my original mis-spelling of Muesli, but mysteriously, someone else has already taken the correct spelling as a name on MN.

Anyway, enough of that. Sounds like everyone here has been out and about over Easter, which makes me feel rather like a couch potato, but little DS is feeding every 2 hours right now and there doesn't seem to be much time to do much else. Did manage to 'fit in' watching Grease on TV yesterday, mind, whilst dancing around the room and singing to DS. He seemed a little bemused

tillyfernackerpants · 13/04/2009 09:53

Hi everyone, made it back from Yorkshire ok, hope everyone had a nice Easter. Ds1 has got 3 easter eggs, every time he was given one he'd say 'wow, thank you' then whisper to me 'what it is?' . My mum finally told him it was chocolate!

And speaking of ds1, he's suddenly seemed to have grown up the last couple of days. No bottle of milk at bedtime, no night nappy, no muslin (his comfort blanket), he's really not a baby any more

Hi muesli, nice to see you again, how's ds?

Steppie, how's the hot cross bun addiction? At least they won't be on sale anymore soon, you'll just be able to go cold turkey!

Not sure what we're up to today, either Hyde Park or Kew Gardens!

sfxmum · 13/04/2009 10:22

hi muesli as I recall it was not so much the every 2hr feed but the feeds that when on for over an hour but you get through it

tilly glad to know it went well we are off to Kew in a minute for face painting and animals before they get too weary

OP posts:
pcworld · 13/04/2009 19:42

Wow, Tilly, I can't believe DS1 has given up the muslin! dd still has her "brown bear" and no sign of that one going. But there is loads to look forward to so don't be too - we're having a ball with dd, so many questions to be asked, so much to learn lol! Hope all the travelling was ok.

SFX - glad you had a good Easter. AUntie, glad the demo went well. We gave Kew a miss, I did my back in royally as the saying goes, so we were forced to take it a bit easy. ds is too heavy! Improved a bit today so we made it to Windsor this morning to say hello to Queenie and then back here for some gardening although still loads to do, bit like the Forth Bridge!

Hi Museli

Anyone fancy a meet-up on Friday?

sfxmum · 13/04/2009 21:11

pcW sorry to hear about your back that is a recurring problem isn't it? ouch

tilly they do grow so fast
I just can't believe my niece is off to uni she was just a baby the other day

auntie demo seems to have been a success, well done

we did the Kew egg hunt, very busy yesterday despite the weather, went back today for face painting and animal handling, am exhausted as had dd solo and she has been on a sugar high since Friday I think, there will be a lot of withdrawal at nursery tomorrow I think

about Friday was thinking of going to the one o'clock club partly to sort out the details for dd's party, would love company

can't wait to go running tomorrow, have a sore throat but craving alone time

OP posts:
AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 13/04/2009 21:36

Hi Tilly, DS doing well thanks. Just coming up to 11 weeks and has not had an evening meltdown since last Thursday, so v pleased and relieved about that indeed! He's full of beans and regularly wanting to lie there, wide eyed, waggling all limbs simultaneously whilst grinning, hyperventilating and generally looking like a loonybaby (though still hates tummy time so don't really like to do it). Have also discovered that whistling to him brings on a kind of horizontal highland fling..

Doing St John Ambulance first aid course tomorrow morning with DH. Leaving baby with MiL for first time - bit concerned as she's not a terribly relaxed person, but hopefully it will all go okay.

tillyfernackerpants · 14/04/2009 07:28

pc, hope your back feels better. Ds1 has his teddy as well & he did pick the muslin back up so it didn't last long! I'd be up for a meet on Friday, if anyone's interested the toy library in Brentford is open Fri pm.

Ds1 got all excited about his easter eggs but seems to have forgotten about them. Not sure whether to let him have some or just eat them myself?

Muesli, glad ds is doing well, ds2 also isn't keen on tummy time but I keep trying. Have you tried popping a towel under his chest to prop him up a little? Am sure MIL will be fine!

We didn't make it to Kew yesterday, couldn't get on a bus . Went swimming & then to the park instead.

pcworld · 14/04/2009 08:25

Tilly - I'll let you into a secret - dh and I ate one of dd's eggs!! LoL. Well - she got so many she didn't even notice!

Muesli, glad to hear it's all going well.

Tilly/SFX - I would have been up for the Race for Life - a friend is also doing it and perhaps we could all have hooked up - BUT I'm not going to do any running for the foreseeable. Need to sort the back out and I think if anything, yoga or pilates might be better for me.

Re: Friday toy library OR 1 o'clock both sound great! If weather is nice then I think we would love 1 o'clock, Ros do you think you would be able to make it? I was thinking of bussing it and then walking so that ds can have a nice sleep in the pram. And if wet - toy library? I have never been and would love to go.

Poor ds has his 12 month injection today so I shall need to steel myself and not turn into a wibbly wreck in front of dd!

tillyfernackerpants · 14/04/2009 08:45

Not sure where 1 o clock club is, have a feeling its 2 buses to get there?

Pc, toy library is great now, they've had loads of grants & funding. Its also open on Thurs am, I'll probably be going if you want to come along then instead. Open 10-12

Kewcumber · 14/04/2009 09:55

hello from Isle of wight. Heading back today.

SFX - fancy a cuppa round my place some time Weds/Thursday or Saturday? (not that I need help to put up a tent, no siree)
