Morning

Sfx - could be G20 related...did you go for nap? that's what I would've chosen

Do you think auntie will get any sleep tonight?

sfxmum · 31/03/2009 11:24

SJ run but might be sleeping this afternoon, so can't possibly do the ironing

I expect auntie will be up at 4am
'is it time yet? is it time yet?'

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/03/2009 14:45

where is my shopping I have ice cream there and I need it

nursery has a list of children going to big school and there are a fair few who will be dd's classmates, I am quite happy about it

mygreatauntgriselda · 31/03/2009 18:04

SFX One of my colleagues at work was woken at 1am by Obama arriving last night in a convoy of US helicopters, which lasted for 3 hours

Colleague lives behind Regent's Park

SFX DH is driving tomorrow to pick up car. I will be in passenger seat, saying "are we there yet, are we there yet?"

Kewcumber · 31/03/2009 19:25

hullo - start new job tomorrow.

SFX when does DD hear about which school?

sfxmum · 31/03/2009 19:28

Kew good luck on your first day

about school we found out on Friday and she was offered a place at our local
sushi will probably know the other children from nursery who also got in, and where they live, it should give you an idea of catchment area

OP posts:
SJ99 · 31/03/2009 19:29

KC - good luck with new job, hope all goes well and they give you an easy start while you're settling in

Auntie - LOL

Sfx - has ice cream arrived? how dare they be late. I am now currently waiting for delivery, so much fun

Right off to scoff some stuffed peppers, haven't made this recipe for ages so I'm quite excited (I really should get out more )

mygreatauntgriselda · 31/03/2009 23:02

SJ enjoy stuffed peppers - yum!

Kew good luck on first day tomorrow - new girl huh?

"don't forget to sponsor me when you get your first pay cheque "

ONLY 12 HOURS TO GO UNTIL NEW CAR!!!!!!!!!

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 01/04/2009 07:32

Auntie, do you have your car yet? I have an image of you banging on the door at 6am demanding your car!

Kew, good luck today!

sfxmum · 01/04/2009 10:52

Good morning people

hope this weather holds would try to take dd to Kew after nursery but not sure she will be up for it
poor thing crashed out of bed last night knocking over the bedside table, she seems to have bee unharmed, did not even cry dh picked her up and she just rolled into bed

I did not sleep much

slng · 01/04/2009 11:29

Good morning!

We had tantrums galore this morning, all from one small person. The sooner he recovers from this jetlag of one hour the healthier it would be for all of us ...

SFX - did the FB fruit quiz thing and then it disappeared on me! Oh well. I'm sure I can't be that bad at it - I do shop in Waitrose after all!

Kew - so is it a real job or an elaborate April's Fools joke?

sfxmum · 01/04/2009 11:59

LOL slng

had a quick look at the news on telly am amused at the hype reporting the demonstrations
-camera on 'revolution'
camera off 'give us a fag'

Kewcumber · 01/04/2009 12:02

is it a real job or an elaborate April's Fools joke?...

well its 12.01 now...

SushiMummy · 01/04/2009 14:26

Afternoon all. What a lovely day!

Am shirking from home today to avoid possible disruption but seems all under control in the city... oops, spoke too soon, someone broke into RBOS building...

KC - how is the new job? Made any friends, yet?

About the school, not really sure what the catchment is for the school but all kids I know live v close to the school (I'd say less than 10 minutes walk?).

sfx - I see lovely Barney is going to the school, too.(whispers - yes, I have been checking the school list with interest) Did you know the reception kids at school play with pre-schoolers at nursery in the common play area outside? At least my DS will still see mini-sfx and other friends after Sept.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sun.

sfxmum · 01/04/2009 15:23

sushi there is a fair contingent moving over, I am pleased about the way they manage the transition, all the ones moving over spend story time with reception class for the last few weeks of term

dd is in a particularly trying mood today can't quite seem to keep the peace, I expect she is tired after coughing all night and so on

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 01/04/2009 15:54

sfx - poor mini-sfx. Hope she feels better soon. DS is ok healthwise (touch wood) but in a very defiant phase at the moment.[sighs]

Can't really get used to this working from home business. My DH makes too much noise!

sfxmum · 01/04/2009 16:00

funnily enough she does really wake up but obviously not having a restful enough sleep

dd is a bit like that the latest was because the face painting wasn't exactly like yesterday cue screaming crying running around the flat all the while smearing her face, well at least it did not get on the walls

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 01/04/2009 17:17

you're not supposed to work at home at the same time as DH!

stepfordwife · 01/04/2009 17:25

hey, kew, on mumsnet on your first day at a new job...daring, eh?!
hope it's going well m'dear...

mellow2 · 01/04/2009 18:23

Hello everyone,

Kew - Hope 1st day went well.

Auntie - How's your new people carrier?

Hope everyone else is well too.

I've been lurking but haven't had much to contribute.

We're awfully busy here. I can't believe it's Easter holidays next week. I don't know what I'll do with dd for 2 weeks.

mygreatauntgriselda · 01/04/2009 19:19

I am deeply in love, Mellow

At first I was worried in case we didn't "bond" but as soon as I drove it I was overwhelmed with a huge rush of unconditional lurve

sfxmum · 01/04/2009 19:31

auntie happy honeymoon

mellow thankfully dd will still be going to nursery possibly until a couple of weeks before she starts Reception, I need the break for study and general sanity

Kew hope it all went well today

the plan is to read my book this evening until I fall asleep, might not be very long

OP posts:
pcworld · 01/04/2009 20:30

Hi everone Kew, hope your first day was ok? Auntie, glad you are bonding with the new car.

Am finding things totally exhausting at the moment, it is one thing trying to keep up activities with dd and another trying to keep up with over-active 1 year old who is getting into all sorts of scrapes! Oh, yes, and cook, wash, do the school run and bake birthday cake If any of you old-timers out there have any coping tips, please share

I'm sure things will seem much better once I've finished this glass of wine. Looking forward to the Easter fortnight, no school so we are free to get out and about with gay abandon

mygreatauntgriselda · 01/04/2009 21:58

PC no tips, other than it is exhausting and to try and get a few early nights

Do you fancy doing Kew Gdns over the hols? Our LOs could run wild, while we recline on the grass, sipping cappucinos

mygreatauntgriselda · 01/04/2009 21:58

Kew are you doing 4 day or 5? How was your first day?
