ok finally Christmas is over

OP posts:
slng · 25/03/2009 10:46

sfx - that's weird. I always keep my eyes on the needle though. Seems to make it less bad.

stepfordwife · 25/03/2009 12:11

helllllooooooo
sfx. yes that is weird, woman.
next you'll be telling us you like having your toe-nails pulled out with a blunt paper clip...
i know! i know! when i say i watched mistresses, i mean i watched about 15 minutes of it to marvel at the ham acting and over-blown music

yes, i like franz ferdinand. success of the killers? everyone, male and female, fancies brandon flowers. (too pretty for my tastes)

kew...would love to go to latitude actually, but doubt muchly if finances will allow it this year

mellow..yes, i did get your two e-mails and i replied - but a few other people have said they haven't received stuff from me...but..

thankyou very much and yes please on both counts!

pcworld · 25/03/2009 14:16

That's enough medical stuff for today, peeps {{fainting emoticon}} Thank you.

Have just read that M&S are introducing a 75p jam sandwich. Madness!!!! Or is it just me?

Ros, hope the pj day is going well, the thought does sound very appealing

sfxmum · 25/03/2009 14:31

steppie no don't fancy him at all

weird weather day dd busy doing crafty things by herself I might just fall asleep

OP posts:
rosisdreamingofchocolate · 25/03/2009 16:27

Pc, if only we got to have our pj day! Instead have been to Kew Gardens (& yes we got rained on!), round to a friend's & then to a shop to see about a new fridge freezer. Ds1 is now falling asleep in the chair!

slng · 25/03/2009 18:16

sfx - have emailed you about French holiday.

pc - 75p jam sandwich!!?? Am outraged that anyone would buy a jam sandwich. Having said that in my hometown people used to go to coffee shops to have coconut jam on toast ...

sfxmum · 25/03/2009 20:26

thanks slng

SJ99 · 26/03/2009 08:16

morning all

Nice to see you & lovely DC yesterday PCW

Steppie - I don't fancy Brandon, esp not with tash(!) but I do like their music

Sfx - Scandinavia is gorgeous & can be done cheaply, let me know if you want more details.

M&S are going to sell jam butties , what is the world coming to?!

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 26/03/2009 08:24

morning all,

Sj, sorry about ds2's eye, hope it doesn't come to that!

Not sure what's going on with ds1 lately, he seems very tired & emotional. The smallest thing can make him burst into tears. I think it could be a growth spurt as he's got noticeably taller in the last couple of weeks. Think we're just going to have a pj day (finally!), build a den & chill out today.

Kewcumber · 26/03/2009 10:37

just bought a tent

Injection was fine not as bad as previous intramuscular ones and had it in my arm. Stuff injected was alarmingly red though. HAsn't worked yet... still slept from 8pm though to 7am with a short revivial to turn all teh lights off at about 1am.

Steppie - kids are free...

Are you coming Sushi? Do a Ros and leave DH behind!

sfxmum · 26/03/2009 11:06

good morning all

Kew losing her camping virginity, be kind girls

SJ yes please dh has fond memories of holidays there but no useful info
about Brandon prefer him with tash actually less of the pretty good boy then

Ros may well be a growth spurt dd gets cranky as hell and quite sleepy other major clue for me she eats vegetables without complaining of the taste of vitamins

steppie come on you know you want to

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 26/03/2009 15:35

now I'm worried because tent is only 5ft high, I have bought a tent for midgets.

sfxmum · 26/03/2009 16:45

just how tall do you expect it to be? it is just a festival, are you likely to be entertaining?

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 26/03/2009 18:07

heeeellooooo ladies. Kew sorry to hear about your body being battered again (the jabs not the tent). But hope the tiredness subsides.

ros my ds has just started going through this stage and funnily enough seems to have grown a bit.

sj how awful about ds2 and his eye but it sounds as though the Doc is on the case.

Busy, busy time over here - had a lovely Mother's Day - went for a walk up Northala and then for a meal. I've been trying to shuffle/sort out a lot of things recently and, at long last, seem to have turned a corner.

The job in Kent is still on hold so I decided to look elsewhere and, as of Monday, I'll be working for the Daily Mail (but don't tell any other Mnetters!). So we'll be staying put for a little bit longer and no childcare/schools to be sorted out for LOs in the short-term.

Talking of schools, have had quite a traumatic week but have got wonderful support from the teachers. We think dd2 is dyslexic - even synical dh was in tears when he googled it and it described dd2 to a T. So, in a way, I'm glad we're not moving just yet. Still no buyer but a few that have property to sell that want to buy ours.

mygreatauntgriselda · 26/03/2009 18:20

I quite like the sound of coconut jam on toast

slng · 26/03/2009 19:43

God I'm tired! Just as I thought I'd get a bit of rest after LOs have gone to bed before I tackle the washing-up and laundry, DS1 shouted for me and asked if there were spiders in the room... Harrumph.

I could murder a few coconut jam toasts now. Must make some coconut jam one day ...

SJ - poor ds2! Hopefully he'll grow out of it soon.

MrsR - at job. What will you be doing? Slaughter rational thoughts to feed the beast daily? (Actually have never read the esteemed publication, so speaking from a position of ignorance which is the best position to speak from. Probably.) Will there be lots of support for DD2 in school?

slng · 26/03/2009 19:44

Just read Kew has bought a tent

sfxmum · 26/03/2009 20:05

evening all

slng LOL @dailymail description, actually am utterly fascinated by that paper at the moment, the I go and rant to dh and he just rolls his eyes and says just don't look, well but many people have that for news and basis to form opinion

anyway congrats mrsR it is not like you are going to write for them is it?
about dd am sorry it must be a worry/ shock but thankfully these days there is great support out there and I am sure she will have the confidence to develop her interests
it is just the way the brain is wired isn't it?

dh is on bedtime story detail and I am planning on just watching telly tonight

ros have you caught up on BSG? loved the finale on tuesday think my Christmas present must be the entire series on DVD

OP posts:
rosisdreamingofchocolate · 26/03/2009 20:10

sfx, no no no don't say anything! Have the last 3 hours to watch!

MrsR, at least now you know what the problem is re dd2 & can start getting her help & support. Daily Mail though , we only read this at ILs!

I'm pretty sure ds1 is having a growth spurt, a) from what you've said on here & b) we had a quiet day at home today & he still fell asleep in the chair! Meant I could do the ironing while watching a trashy film though

MrsRecycle · 26/03/2009 20:58

I never read it - they also do the Metro, Standard and a few websites like findaproperty. I'm just in IT doing support but they have plans to call upon my accountancy systems skills that I last used 20 years ago! So a challenge. Must say, I'm relieved you are all still talking to me LOL.

We are getting amazing support from the school and I've just told dd2 tonight and, bless her, she couldn't pronounce it. But without prompting she said that she sees an I instead of an m in some cases. I guess as the brain is a muscle we need to exercise it the right way.
