just a quick drop in to ask if anyone knows about iron or B12 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/726537-Who-knows-about-iron-and-B12-levels-and-anaemia

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/03/2009 16:12

Sushi- glad DS is better )
Yes we went to Kew Gdns yesterday - 'twas sooo nice. Did we have ice creams when you saw us?

sfxmum · 23/03/2009 16:43

kew sorry can't help are you trying to get into the medical books again?
hope you are ok

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 23/03/2009 16:46

pesky blood again! Have been having a problme for a fe wmonths being terribly tired (I mean really really "medically" tired) struggling to manage work and DS and no energy left for anything else - like staying awake!

Auntie - I will sponsor you now as have had a tax rebate if you email me your link again.

We were in Kew yesterday too. Bumped into Paddle, twas nice to see her, she's having such a hard time.

stepfordwife · 23/03/2009 16:57

hello all
come back sunshine..

kew, hope tests get it sorted. as i've mentioned to you before, my dad had pernicious anaemia and monthly B12 injections. the alternative was eating raw liver - he chose the jabs..

gad you bumped into paddle. yes, what hard time for her

sushi..glad ds better

hope everyone had a lovely mother's day. had a very busy weekend and rl far too busy at mo.

my ma up for the week
toodlepip

Kewcumber · 23/03/2009 17:09

my granma had pernicious anaemia too more likely I have it as its genetic apparently. But pretty rare at my age, only about 1 in 10,000 40 yr olds have it (compared with 1 in 1,000 70 yr olds) no smart alec comments please...

Apparently is an autoimmune condition so also possible it developed the same tie and reason as the ITP.

Anyway have 5 injections (intramuscular ouch) in next 2 weeks which in top of iron tablets should I feel more alert pretty quickly.

No more dozing off on your sofa on a sunday morning Steppie!

slng · 23/03/2009 19:48

Hello all!

We got very rained on today when coming home from school. Serve me right for removing the hoods from my coat and DS1's coat. They are stuck back on now...

Kew - good luck with jabs!

sushi/sfx - Barney is the spawn of the devil.

sushi - was the food any good? I read somewhere about someone complaining about it, but we had very nice stuff when we went. Did you try the potato salad? It's yummy!

Must go and try to use up all the leftovers from yesterday in a creative way (ie add LOTS of chilies).

sfxmum · 23/03/2009 21:04

oh no slng not the horrid pink thing but a lovely little boy

Kew what a bummer hope the injections are helpful I remember my mother getting a few, they came in some huge brown ampoules

Ros nice to see you and the dss dh is rolling his eyes at me going on about the baby falling asleep in my arms

OP posts:
rosmerta · 23/03/2009 21:59

sfx, nice to see you & dd as well, thanks for the last minute visit! I loved dd's performances . Dh has been rolling his eyes at Latitude talk & has definitely decided its not for him!

Kew, sorry no idea about the iron. Though when I was pg with ds2 my iron & B12 levels were low but it was just managed with tablets and diet. Hope it improves soon though.

Kewcumber · 23/03/2009 22:55

so who has booked for latitude - I;m not booking until someone else does. Need help choosing and putting up a tent!

sfxmum · 24/03/2009 08:12

good morning all

Kew I booked last night not overly impressed with headliners all very camp (Grace Jones and Per Shop Boys) but at least Nick Cave, Bat for Lashes and Gossip will be there
make sure you book a family camping ticket, 1 adult because it is the only way you can stay in the family area, ds also needs a ticket but it is free
we will gladly help put up the tent

hope everyone is well

OP posts:
rosmerta · 24/03/2009 08:12

Kew, I'm not going this year but think I will be next year with ds1.

Quick question though, Tangerine Fields, is the price for that on top of the Latitude ticket?

sfxmum · 24/03/2009 08:16

a tent here yes Tangerine fields is extra and for light weights who also take the nanny

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/03/2009 08:19

some extra festival info here

OP posts:
rosmerta · 24/03/2009 08:31

Ok, was vaguely tempted but not if I'm going to be surrounded by Tarquins

I'm also really really tempted to go this year!

sfxmum · 24/03/2009 08:34

you know Ros your dh can go an just sit in the camping area babysitting or reading a book/ sunning himself if lucky with the weather

OP posts:
rosmerta · 24/03/2009 08:39

I'll try & persuade him, but tbh, I like the idea of me & ds1 going on our own. Its not often I get 1-2-1 time with him anymore.

slng · 24/03/2009 10:48

No festivals for me.

sfx- apologies to Barney-the-lovely-boy. You can see how scarred I am by Barney-the-eternally-damned-horrid-pink-thing.

Kewcumber · 24/03/2009 11:03

go on Ros - I'm going to book tonight...

Kewcumber · 24/03/2009 11:24

Have booked...

sfxmum · 24/03/2009 11:27

Kew we have this tent

but if you have no gear maybe have a look

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/03/2009 11:32

deep breaths Kew deep breaths dd will be delighted she loves playmates although your ds in in danger of being dressed up as a fairy

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 24/03/2009 13:11

this seems a bargain - whats wrong with it?

slng · 24/03/2009 13:27

Kew - what's wrong with it??? I'd have thought that's obvious. Has it got a flushing loo??? Shower???

Not the outdoor type, me.

sfxmum · 24/03/2009 13:40

kew am sure it is fine we got something similar sometime ago look out for height/ room size etc also you might want to post on the camping thread they are very knowledgeable and helped me out last time I needed a new tent

slng I will take it against you
I do like roughing it a bit but the family camping at the festival is hardly rough
