Hello all!

sfx - war going on in bilingual thread! Pretty exciting!

LouIsAHappyLittleVegemite · 20/03/2009 21:33

Sorry to interrupt this evening but would anyone here know what is being built near the intersection of Petersham Road and Star and Garter Hill? It looks kind of like a conference centre and I am dying to know what it is but no one seems to. Thanks heaps!

pcworld · 21/03/2009 08:41

Sorry, Lou - no idea! Someone else on here is bound to know.

SFX - how was the date! Hope you had a lovely evening. We will be back at Kew today, I think, as the hall ceiling is being taken down to hopefully source and mend the leak.

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Sushi, glad your ds is ok now.

SJ and Mellow - it was lovely to see you on Thursday! Shame we had to rush off, let's try and do it again soon. I'm veering towards being at Kew 2-3 times a week again with all this fantastic weather

rosmerta · 21/03/2009 08:59

Sorry Lou, no idea!

Sushi, glad ds is better

sj/pc/mellow, sorry I had to bail out of Thursday but it was a good idea in the end, a few mini tantrums throughout the day from ds1 which I'm sure would've developed into full blown ones if we'd gone to Kew! Plus he took himself off to bed for a nap in the afternoon so obviously very tired!

Dh wants to go and fly a kite today , not sure where that's come from!

Oh & sj/sfx, dh seems to have been persuaded on the idea of me bringing ds1 to Latitude next year . Shame I can't do this year but am still excited about the thought of it!

mygreatauntgriselda · 21/03/2009 10:03

Morning everyone - still recovering from swim lol!!

Hopwe everyone else is fine and enjoying the sun

Lou sorry I don't know but if you ring Richmond Council's planning dept they can put you out of your misery xxx

Hi all, hope everyone is well and have been out and about enjoyuing this lovely weather we are having.

I have been busy the last few days working on the cake for my mother's birthday tomorrow. (check out piccie on my profile)

"Happy mother's day" to everyone for tomorrow!

mellow2 · 22/03/2009 08:57

Happy mother's day everyone!

rosmerta · 22/03/2009 09:20

Happy mother's day!

Ds1 ruined the surprise by running in last night saying 'mummy, we got you some flowers'!

We're off to the ILs today & out for tea, should be nice as MIL never lets us do anything with ds2, & ds1 just goes & plays in their garden all day!

sfxmum · 22/03/2009 09:35

happy mother's day
I think we will have a quiet day at Kew today after the really busy and long day yesterday

dd also told me about my present yesterday but it is very nice

OP posts:
rosmerta · 22/03/2009 09:51

sfx, it is very nice! Ds1 didn't tell me about the pirate that's in the flowers so that's a surprise!

pcworld · 22/03/2009 14:16

Cov, what an amazing cake

Hope everyone is having a nice day. I got told at 7.20am as the smell of burning croissant wafted through pcvillas, that the oven "needed a clean" Otherwise it's been a nice day so far and I am on day 2 of shirking my cooking duties for we are off out to a restaurant later, hurrah.

I write this from a home with no hall or porch ceiling. But hey, at least it is leak-free and also leek-free as I used the last one in a hotpot on Friday

sfxmum · 22/03/2009 17:10

Hi all, hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday!

Has anyone got any tips for buying shoes for dcs? Whenever we take ds1, he only ever tries on the first pair but is too shy to get down & walk in them, so we get them & then later on in the day he says they hurt . I've got to take a pair we bought on Saturday back today & try to get another pair. It happened when we got his shoes last year as well!

Sfx, we'll be over your way today if you fancy meeting up. Can either come to you or meet & M&S if you like.

sfxmum · 23/03/2009 09:23

good morning all

ros I plan on staying home today but you are welcome to drop by,my place resembles a bomb site and I plan on slowly trying to restore some order, we had a very busy weekend

hope everyone is well

OP posts:
rosmerta · 23/03/2009 09:27

Sfx, ok, if you don't mind. I'll give you a ring later!

sfxmum · 23/03/2009 09:28

ok and about the shoes I think the fitter makes a difference but I never had a problem with dd trying shoes on and she does love prancing about in the different styles

SushiMummy · 23/03/2009 09:33

morning all. Hope you all had a lovely mother's day. Thanks for the well wishes, DS is much better and back at nursery today.

Lou - sorry, no idea about the construction.

auntie - saw you with your DCs yesterday in Kew as we were driving past.

ros - my DS does that sometimes. He does have wide feet so finding right shoes could be tricky. Hope you and DS1 find nice pair of shoes today.

sfx - mamma mia is a popular song at pre-school and it's so funny to listen to them with made up lyrics. Their current fav is Do-Re-Mi.

slng - have tried the chinese restaurant - the portion was huge!

CoV - your mother's day cake looks amazing. How lond did you take to make it?

sfxmum · 23/03/2009 09:36

sushi that is right I think it is all Barneys' doing the sound of music has been playing a lot at dd's request
