ok finally Christmas is over

OP posts:
mellow2 · 18/03/2009 15:11

We've accepted the offer. smile]

I'm the slightest bit excited although we're probably going to have to move to Suffolk now and won't be able to stay in the area.

MrsR - Buyer is chain free and currently renting on Kew Garden Road. Now's let's hope we find a property with no onward chain.

sfxmum · 18/03/2009 15:29

wow mellow congratulations DON'T GO
well we go to Suffolk once a year so we can visit

SJ I have been looking but can't find a good size they are either too wide or too short

sfxmum · 18/03/2009 15:31

sushi I have not seen that picture by dd but she does say bonkers a lot

Kewcumber · 18/03/2009 16:20

sorry can't keep up - working too hard!

But have a start date for new job 1st April.

How bad an idea is it to start a new job on April Fools Day

mellow2 · 18/03/2009 16:48

Sfx - We really need to go to Suffolk to have a proper look and see if we like it. We are thinking of moving to Woodbridge as there's a concentration of good schools there. If we do move, you can come and visit whenever you like.

Everything's up in the air atm. I keep thinking I'm really going to miss my Japanese fishmonger ], my Japanese hairdresser, my Chinese supermarkets etc etc .

mellow2 · 18/03/2009 16:48

Kew - Wonderful news re start of new job.

Kewcumber · 18/03/2009 16:56

why Suffolk?

sfxmum · 18/03/2009 17:07

Kew you can say boo on the first day or be stern if they decide to play a joke on you what a way to build a reputation

Mellow we go to the festival at Southwold, and dh has distant relatives living nearby too, very nice coast but takes ages to get there
I can imagine missing London

OP posts:
mellow2 · 18/03/2009 17:16

If we're priced out of Teddington and Hampton Wick, we want to move somewhere rural rather than suburban and Suffolk is an easier commute for dh as he works in the City, not far from you actually.

Kewcumber · 18/03/2009 17:23

ah but new job is in Vauxhall

mellow2 · 18/03/2009 17:49

So are you going to be taking the SW train to work then?

rosmerta · 18/03/2009 18:00

Mellow congratulations, will be sad to see you go though if you do move to Suffolk

Sfx, well done on passing the course!

Steppie, I've never done pilates but I do yoga once a week at Richmond. I did try & do it at home but ds1 thought it was a game & jumped on me [ooofff]

mellow2 · 18/03/2009 18:40

Thanks sfx, ros and sj. It's nice to know that I will be missed if I go.

SJ99 · 18/03/2009 19:17

Mellow- Nice to speak to you earlier. I hope you don't have to move to Suffolk as we'd miss you (note - nothing against the place )

MrsRecycle · 18/03/2009 20:47

Oh how exciting Mellow! Sounds like a perfect chain as well. I will miss you but then I'm going to miss all of you when I go....whenever that is!

My df has some awful news today, was due to complete on Friday after the sale taking 6 months, they have pulled out as they don't have the deposit. So back to square 1. If we ever sell ours, there is no way a sold sign is going up until we exchange.

Sfx - might be up for Kew on Friday afternoon.

mellow2 · 18/03/2009 22:47

Thanks MrsR. What happened to your friend does sound awful. It's amazing what can go wrong in a house sale, doesn't it?

I will miss everyone too if I go.

rosmerta · 19/03/2009 07:49

MrsR, your poor df. Hope it doesn't take too long for her to find another buyer

Very early start for us this morning [yawn] & I've realised the clocks change this weekend!

sfxmum · 19/03/2009 10:29

good morning all

these awful stories of buying and selling houses makes me want to stay put for as long as possible

apparently there is a D&V bug at nursery in the pre school room, 7 went down yesterday, am worried I probably should have brought dd home instead of leaving her there really don't want her to catch it poor baby and
we are going out tomorrow and have babysitting sorted plus family birthday at the weekend

Sfx - Have fun tomorrow and fingers x that dd is okay.

SJ99 · 19/03/2009 15:06

Hello all

Sfx - hope DD is ok and has escaped the bugs

MrsR - terrible news about your df

Nice to see Mellow & Bunyan (albeit breifly!) & respective DC earlier

Sorry can't make bop as we'll be coming back from Wales that day

Got home and and discovered Ds1 has cunningly hidden the garage door key, now I can't get into garage from inside as door is locked. Reminds me of when he kindly hid my credit cards to keep them safe last year

SushiMummy · 19/03/2009 17:31

sfx - DS came back home OK from nursery yesterday but was sick over night and he is not going back to nursery till Monday. Although he was sick three times last night [exhausted emoticon] but he has been fine today, eating and playing as normal. DH is looking after him tomorrow. Hope your DD doesn't get it.

mellow - noooooo! Really hope you don't have to go...

Doc said I have virus not asthma (thank God!) so plenty of rest and fluid for me for now.

Hope everyone is well.

sfxmum · 19/03/2009 18:10

sushi sorry to hear about ds I did not realise he was not there today, sometimes I don't see him at all, dd seems ok keeping fingers crossed
thanks all for good wishes

good to hear it is not asthma sushi

mrsR excuse the rudeness I missed you saying you might come out to Kew tomorrow, be nice to see you if you do

my laptop has misbehaving so was on the phone to tech services for ages, very frustrating problem still not solved

SushiMummy · 20/03/2009 10:35

Lovely morning again! Hope everyone is well.

Update on DS - he was fine last night and DH told me he is fine, wanting to go to big Tesco this morning, lol. So his sickness was one-off, thank goodness!

mellow2 · 20/03/2009 10:54

Sushi - Glad to hear that ds is fine.
