Bunyan might do just that Mellow?
sorry about the sleep
still have memory of dd teething madly between October and New Year I was a total wreck

SBS/slng tomorrow is dh's last day with current team so he has a leaving do, so I am not going out

will pack lunch and go to Kew then make sure dd runs around a lot
when I got to pre school today to pick her up she was hugging a boy and a teacher
took ages to get her to leave, so nice on a day when she was adamant about not going at all

slng · 30/10/2008 21:54

Evening all!

sj hope ds is better soon.

sfx - have to work tomorrow morning. Trying to cramp 5 days' work into three ...

DS1 has been waking up in the night wheezing and saying ouch.

mellow2 · 30/10/2008 22:14

Bunyan and sfx - Sure what time were you thinking?

bunyanvillas · 31/10/2008 07:08

Hi, we'll be at Kew from 10.30ish. All ready to go, I've been up since 5am with ds who is now waking up at this time every day and shouting, laughing, hiccuping etc

mellow2 · 31/10/2008 08:05

OK. Bunyan. I'll text you when I get there.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/10/2008 09:08

slng best wishes to cramming, hope ds is ok

mellow/ bunyan we just having breakfast will do our best to be there

SJ hope night was better and ds is recovering

sushi hope ds is better too

wave to everyone else hope you are well, I had a bit of a lie in today

Kewcumber · 31/10/2008 09:11

I have a pile of really dull but essential stuff to do today so mumis taking DS to playgroup whilst I go shopping them get my mortgage sorted and tyr to persude passport agency that DS should be allowed to stay in teh country

No playing for me today...

slng · 31/10/2008 09:21

Kew good luck with passport agency. Oddly enough they've always been very efficient when I had dealings with them.

sfxmum · 31/10/2008 09:31

KC take it you found a good deal with mortgage somehow that problem was obscured in the platelet saga
good luck with passport people

SushiMummy · 31/10/2008 09:48

SJ - poor mini-sj. DS had similar one, a few days of high temp followed by a rash, it was viral infection called Roseola (sp?). He was grumpiest when rash started to appear. Hope he gets better soon.

ros - I use it almost every week. It only takes 5 minutes to prepare and all you do is wait.

sfx - I wish I could join you. I'm taking the day off again but just don't want to risk anyone catching DS's cold.

QC - good luck with the mortgage and passport.

bunyan - have a nice time in KG.

Cov - lovely to see you. You sound super busy these days.

DS's temp was over 40 again last night. He is fine daytime but when he sleeps temp shoots up and his feet are freezing cold while the rest of the body is burning hot. I managed to squeeze an appo with GP this morning, see what he says.

SushiMummy · 31/10/2008 11:32

Just got back from GP, seems DS has chest infection and on ABs now.

SJ - how is mini-sj today? Hope he is on the mend.

SJ99 · 31/10/2008 14:08

Sorry to hear miniSushi has chest infection, hope AB's will clear it up in no time.

DS a bit brighter in himself, although you're right the rash has made him more irritable! His appetite has finally returned, even after a wk of not eating he seems to have lost an inch from his size zero waist. I guess we just have to ride it out

Hope you enjoyed Kew those of you who went

KC - good luck with passport agency

Bunyan - the 5am starts must be a killer Is feeling DS better?

rosmerta · 31/10/2008 15:04

Sushi, sorry to hear about ds, hope the ABs clear up the chest infection soon

Sj, glad ds's appetite has come back, maybe he's on the mend?

Hope Kew was fun those who went!

I'm completely wiped out today. Woke up at 2am and just could not get back to sleep at all. Ended up getting up at about 5am so I could at least read. Fortunately, ds was at nursery this morning so I managed to get a bit more sleep and I've just had to have another nap on the sofa while ds watched Cars

SJ99 · 31/10/2008 15:11

Ros - sorry to hear about sleepless nights, at least you've caught up a bit on your sleep, rest while you can. I actually slept well last night, woke up about 4 times with toilet trips and DS but amazingly went straight back to sleep each time

Going to start cooking now while DS snoozes

sfxmum · 31/10/2008 15:25

hello all

sushi sorry to hear I hope it clears up soon

SJ good to hear ds seems better

Ros I think insomnia is common in late pregnancy no? and the vivid dreams, quite alarming at times, have not seen you in ages you must drop by sometime, maybe when out for last minute baby shop?

lovely to see mellow and Bunyan along with brave spouse

dd run around like a mad thing with wings along with mini bunyan and mini mellow now crashed on bean bag eating a chocolate eye and a ghost

btw managed to talk to Indy in the end, we did not actually miss her she wasn't there

bunyanvillas · 31/10/2008 15:29

Oh dear, Sushi - hope your poor ds is on the mend soon. And poor Ros! Glad you have been able to take it relatively easy today. I sometimes think that being up at 5am has its merits (not of course when you are heavily pregnant) - this morning, for instance, I enjoyed the peace and silence (squawking aside), flicking through the papers etc. SJ, glad your ds is on the mend. At this end ds is fine, I think it's a developmental phase that's causing all the night waking ie he's waking up to "practice" newly acquired skills! Kew was beautiful today and it was nice to avoid the madding crowds. Just having a little rest now before heading into .... the kitchen - there's no getting away from it! Mind you, various discussions about cakes today have inspired me and I shall be leafing through all my books in search of yumminess. Mellow, will email you should I locate what looks to be the "perfect" choccy cake recipe!

rosmerta · 31/10/2008 15:31

Bunyan, if you have Nigella's Feast book she has some gorgeous chocolate cakes in there.

bunyanvillas · 31/10/2008 15:32

Ros, agree with SFX re: the insomnia - it's your body preparing you! We'll sort something out next week that's nice and easy for you ie coffee and cake that sort of thing!!!! SFX, my dh was v pleased to meet yourself and Mellow and really enjoyed himself! We have beebies on now, wine (early!!), newspapers and brief internet sesh

mellow2 · 31/10/2008 15:33

SJ and Sushi - Sorry to hear that LOs are still unwell. Hope they get better soon.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/10/2008 15:36

this is the clementine cake
the chocolate one is based on this

and the quadruple chocolate loaf

mellow2 · 31/10/2008 15:36

Ros - Poor you. I remember those 2am wakings. Luckily, you manage to catch up on sleep in the day.

Sfx and bunyan - We had a nice time today. Dd really enjoyed herself.

Bunyan - I thought your dh was very nice and chatty. I wouldn't be able to convince my dh to go on an outing with other moms.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/10/2008 15:49

mellow I found another flourless chocolate cake but without the oranges

SJ99 · 31/10/2008 16:07

Nigella's cake does look good, can't wait for DS to be able to eat eggs then I can make more of them. Have a French yogurt cake recipe I shall try soon

Ros - I've been having 'sleep gaps' for past month or so along with the weirder than normal dreams. As long as I nap in the day I seem to get by somehow.

Have made DS some rice pudding as it's good comfort food, no doubt DH will wolf it up too

bunyanvillas · 31/10/2008 16:31

Right. That's it. Am making a cake tonight. And then another tomorrow lol!

SJ - I will never forget my pregnant dream about Bill Turnbull!!!! It keeps coming back to haunt me!!

Mellow - dh is v sociable, always enjoys meeting new people

Oh - also, SJ - forgot to say, saw the guy with the bowler hat, suit, umbrella etc in Twickers yesterday! Must be the guy you referred to. Certainly, he is some sartorial act to follow. Speaking of which - did anyone see the hilarious piece in G2 yesterday "deconstructing" the outfits worn by the Oxford Bullingdon Club circa 1992? Brilliant

sfxmum · 31/10/2008 16:36

must look out for that Bunyan not a big fan of mister Osborne&co

just when I think I might switch allegiances I look at his face
