so when are we requisitioning KC's house?
dates in diary going fast

slng · 21/11/2008 23:23

AN - my children can say "shit" in German too.

Just back from night out!!! Gino's in Ealing does top Italian food.

KC's for Christmas night out/in then?

Kewcumber · 21/11/2008 23:31

Nick update - he had trachy tube put in as planned and is breathing although vent assisted. Neuro's still say he is critical, paddle says she thinks his hand moved when she was holding it this afternoon. More waiting...

Kewcumber · 21/11/2008 23:32

yes happy to host at mine. Dates are difficult but how about Sat 6th Dec?

MrsRecycle · 22/11/2008 07:54

auntie - "malarka" (sp?)

Can't do any dates until next year unless midweek. But was thinking that January we could celebrate mine and kew's birthdays after payday.

Had goosepimples when I heard Nick moved his hand.

stepfordwife · 22/11/2008 09:29

hi everyone

yes, more waiting for paddle and family, hope today brings good news. great she felt his hand move

MrsR - house is gorgeous - fab loft space

auntie..hey, thanks, i'm just hanging out for next saturday's pruning at the hairdresser's

kew, thanks for offering to host. dec 6 fine by me..

apparently 3 more weeks to go of building..we are now resorting to bribery to keep 'em sweet..dh bought back a stash of chinese cigarettes for builders from singapore..

they were very pleased but told him they were no longer the top brand

mightily pleased to see dh and adult back-up back...

have a lovely day, everyone.
i think the barn church christmas fair is on this arvo which is always good. won't be going, tho. going to escape for a few sanity hours now, then got to start trying to transform loft/messy office/packing box dumping ground into a bedroom for my MIL who arrives from oz on friday

disclaimer: not {shock] at her arriving as she's lovely, but at task

SJ99 · 22/11/2008 11:12

Steppy -LOL at bribing builders with cigs, hope it does the trick

Sushi - hope you're feeling better now

Paddle - Hope more movements from Nick today

I confess to being able to swear in a few languages too but I stopped swearing in DS company as he shocked me once by repeating 'OMG FFS' back to me & that was enough to make me hold my tongue

I'd like to join you all on the 6th Dec but will have to play it by ear and it may just be a quick pop in to say hello depending on how I'm feeling on the day. Am on early bedtimes atm although DS2 is a MUCH easier baby

Did manage to watch Indy last night, v. amusing!

AtheneNoctua · 22/11/2008 12:50

Don't think I can do the 6th as DH is out and would have to incur some pricey b-sitting.

mygreatauntgriselda · 22/11/2008 14:58

I can do 6th or virtually any Friday/Sat as I have no social life in RL

Praying for Nick and Paddle

sfxmum · 22/11/2008 17:42

hello all

the 6th works thank you KC

steppie 3 wks! celebrations will ensue surely is the cleaner coming then?
glad you are having a break after solo children herding all week

SJ found the hat for ds1 will post it

have been through dd's things since birth and located all grobags and countless babygrows so do tell if anything is useful for the new arrivals.

very cautious run today extremely frustrating but hey better than nothing off again tomorrow probably in the rain.

no news from Nick? not heard since last night

MrsRecycle · 22/11/2008 17:53

worrying isn't it sfx? Keeping on checking for updates but none today.
Steppie glad dh is back and the builders can obtain instructions from him instead. What a cheek about the cigs!
Sj am mightily impressed with you mn-ing with dd2 being so young but glAd he is a lit easier than dd1.
Found a lovely spa hotel near rye and have just had a day of pampering whilst dh looked after the kids. Bliss

Kewcumber · 22/11/2008 22:28

sorry not been online tpday.

Nick still critical and not awake however he is responding to pain, which I hope is the beginning of wakefulness.

Not the time to uncross your fingers yet..

stepfordwife · 23/11/2008 11:44

hi all
hope you're all diddling well
fingers still firmly crossed for nick.

nice bit of snow this morning, shame now turned to heavy rain. ds1 and ds2 are paying in a rugby tournament, but they like playing on the rain and mud. expecting my drowned little rats home soon.

oh lordy, got to go, dd is wrecking playing with my printer
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 23/11/2008 11:50

..oh was ridiculously excited about rhydian being on x-factor last night.....but fell asleep. damn!

in fact, when dh was way this week, fell asleep every night on sofa after my dinner of cashew nuts and a glass of wine...
all right, innit? cashews are full of "good: fats and wine=grapes=one of my 5-a-day....

stepfordwife · 23/11/2008 11:51

disclaimer: didn't feed my children cashew nuts and wine for dinner...

sfxmum · 23/11/2008 19:20

hi all hope everyone is well

steppie sounds like a balance diet

last I heard from paddle Nick was stable but still not awake although showing some hopeful signs/ responses.

spent the day with family now really tired and in need of rest

slng · 23/11/2008 19:54

Hi all!

Steppie - top diet!

I saw the most perfect rainbow today, against a dark sky, no buildings to block the way, a perfect arch.

Kewcumber · 23/11/2008 20:49

anyone fancy ordering Mama Mia and turning Dec 6th into a girls film night?

slng · 23/11/2008 21:03

Oh no! I can't make Dec 6th.

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/11/2008 21:14

QC what a great idea!!! That would be fun

Steppy yes balanced diet 50% wine/50%cashews

Have tooth abcess and had to go to Kingston Hossie this morning for emergency ABs - pain is dreadful and am on a cocktail of Ibuprofen/codeine/paracetamol/dihydrocodeine

AtheneNoctua · 24/11/2008 09:42

Ouch, griselda. You have my sympathies.

I had a peek at Paddle's facebook and say that her DB moved his arm in response to their voices. So that sounds promising.

Oh, and nanny unresigned this morning. So, nanny hunt is terminated... yippe.

Now if I can just find a new job, my near future will be sorted and I can enjoy Christmas.

SushiMummy · 24/11/2008 10:16

Anthene - thanks for the update. That sounds promising. Keeping my fingures firmly crossed for more positive news. Glad to hear your nanny has changed her mind. Good luck with the jobhunt.

Auntie - hope you feel better soon.

QC - I really would love to join you on 6 Dec but I'm out 4, 5 and 10 Dec (all company related) so another night would be a bit unfair for DH.

MrsRecycle · 24/11/2008 10:42

quick post our6th dAte has cancelled might be able to make like the sound of mm kew.

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/11/2008 10:58

What was that MrsR?

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/11/2008 11:05

There is a charity in Kew called React (Rapid Effective Assistance for Children with potentially Terminal illnesses)

On Sunday 14th 3-6pm they have organised a Cream Tea with Champagne - the woman who owns the fabulous flower shop on Sandycombe Road will be showing the participants how to make hand made wreathes for their front doors for Christmes, all materials included. She will also be teaching some flower arranging techniques.

Cost for the Cream Tea/Class and Champers is £40 (yes I know, but it is for a very worthwhile cause - help for terminlly ill children)

Is anyone interested in coming along with me? Let me know this week. Any questions just let me know.

It sounds great fun and its an excellent local charity - do someting charitble this Christmas and support them
