Evening all, seems a bit quiet today!

Kew, am guessing you didn't make it in the end? We only managed to stay until about 1-ish in the end, ds getting in and out of his pushchair every minute kind of gave me the hint that he'd had enough!

Anyone around tomorrow? Am trying to meet up with people in next couple of weeks as probably won't be around then until after new year.

steppie, I've got the game for you but will pop it in the post tomorrow if that's ok? Just don't know when I'll be able to get over to you!

Museli · 10/11/2008 09:05

Hello all,

My first baby is due in mid Jan and I live in Hampton Hill. On maternity leave from December and would love to meet more mums in the area - especially if it involves hot chocolate. Do let me know if there's a meet-up planned that could accommodate a newbie.

x

sfxmum · 10/11/2008 10:19

good morning all

Hi Museli and welcome, think you joined at a good time there are 3 babies expected from today till early December

mygreatauntgriselda · 10/11/2008 10:54

I wonder what Oxo and SJ are doing right this minute?

SFX

Muesli - Hi and welcome - hopefully you can come to one of our meet ups before you pop!

slng · 10/11/2008 11:04

Did somebody mention hot chocolate? What a very excellent idea.

rosmerta · 10/11/2008 15:09

hi all, am currently drying off! Wish I'd picked up some hot chocolate now as well!

Hi Muesli, I'm pg & due beginning of Dec. Have a ds 2.5yrs.

Sfx, thanks for having us round. Sorry it took us so long to leave! Ds now keeps asking where minisfx is!

sfxmum · 10/11/2008 16:31

ros pleasure to have you both here, most welcome to come back, no worries about time

twiddling thumbs wondering how SJ is

slng I think there was a feature in yesterday's Observer travel section on the best chocolate cup of hot chocolate in the world
hard to read it without developing extreme chocolate craving

auntie if times get really hard he might be available for rental

sfxmum · 10/11/2008 16:32

see too much chocolate on that post, clearly affected me

mellow2 · 10/11/2008 18:21

Evening everyone,

Miserable weather today contributed to inertia! We stayed in all day. I hope there will be some sunny weather tomorrow.

Welcome Museli,
You'll be in good company with 3 new babies arriving before the new year.

Sfx - LOL at dh for hire.

sfxmum · 10/11/2008 18:39

we stayed home too but planning on long walk about Kew tomorrow wellies required no doubt

speaking of approaching Christmas
we are planning on booking to see panto at Richmond theatre, Simon Callow as Captain Hook Bonnie Langford as Peter Pan should be fun

fish pie in oven smells great don't think we will wait for dh

mygreatauntgriselda · 10/11/2008 18:52

I remember seeing Bonnie Langford wandering around Richmond when she (and I) were a LO. She always had a fake fur coat and patent leather boots and ringlets

Wonder if any newborns have arived yet then???

Righ, awwwf to make a cup o' steaming hot chocolate

sfxmum · 10/11/2008 20:13

Ros nightlight here

think woolworths Debehams John Lewis and Amazon have them too in all sorts of characters

rosmerta · 10/11/2008 20:21

Thanks sfx, think that's exactly the kind of thing we were looking for!

Griselda, I was telling sfx earlier that when I was about 10 I went to see Peter Pan in Leeds & Bonnie Langford was PP in that! Surely she must be fed up of it now!

Mellow, ikwym about the weather & inertia! Had to force myself out of the house today but glad we did so.

mygreatauntgriselda · 10/11/2008 20:43

Ros LOL - yes talk about typecasting

Catherine Tate would do a great imitation don't you think?

stepfordwife · 11/11/2008 07:25

morning all
how you all diddling?
any news from SJ anyone?
think xoxo was going in today

ros, thanks a million. that's fab. i'll send you a cheque. please, please remind me if i forget

auntie, well the boiler was fine until they had to move it..then it needed a part . anyhow part didn't turn up yesterday so still not hot water/heating, but have promised if doesn't arrive today, they will install the boiler from their office as a temporary measure!
many thanks for ablution offer, but should hopefully be OK

yes, love simon callow. when he was last in panto there (slips my mind which one) i saw him in costume and full make-up buying a card in clinton cards! won me the best 'spot" of the year in a celeb-spotting competition i have with feeble like-minded friends.

right, have a lovely day everyone...must get my arse into work mode. am being very distracted with colour charts at mo and dithering over shades which, as ds1 told me, "all look the same, mum."
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 11/11/2008 07:27

sfxmum · 11/11/2008 09:54

good morning all

another late start for us this might be a problem tomorrow on pre school day
lovely sunny day

rosmerta · 11/11/2008 10:20

Morning

Ds in nursery this morning, dh took him so I'm still in my pjs. In fact, I'm still in bed , but I am doing some work, promise! Am just about to go & get a cup of tea!

Much nicer day than yesterday, we might venture out to Kew this afternoon depending on how tired ds is.

Kewcumber · 11/11/2008 12:51

dropping in quickly post hospital appt - platelets maintaining at 100 ish level despite cutting steriods so consultant (yes saw proper doctor this week!) hase decided to go for broke and cut steriod dose massively over next two weeks. Partly becasue side effects are beginning to build up and be worse than the condition! Bad news is that withdrawl might be quite tough - very tired muscle pain/weakness but I think best to try and get it over with quickly. ALso advantage will be that we will see more quickly if I can mainatain a decent platelet level wihtout steriods (fingers crossed but I'm optimistic).

Hi muesli - I have a DS nearly 3.

Hi Stppie - no Auntie Gris was having a brainstorm and somehow thinking I might be around on Weds (she's getting on a bit you know poor love).

stepfordwife · 11/11/2008 13:09

i know...there, there, auntie..it'll be all right, dear....

glad you're winning the battle of the platelets, kew. will be a hard (er) few weeks for you then lowering the dosage. fingers crossed side-effects aren't too bad.

sfxmum · 11/11/2008 14:13

KC good to hear platelets holding hope side effects of withdrawal are bearable

kew was bracing today and quite muddy but very glad we made it out for

now I really need to get on with essay

rosmerta · 11/11/2008 15:24

Kew, glad to hear platelets are surviving. Fingers crossed withdrawal isn't too bad

Sfx, meant to ask you how your course was going. So how's it going? I'm trying to get a couple of bits finished but its not really happening!

Ds & I have napped on the sofa together again today! He seems to prefer that to going to bed for his nap & I quite like it too!

Still no news from sj or oxo?

SushiMummy · 11/11/2008 16:30

Hi Muselie! My DS is 3 and we live in Kew. Welcome.

QC - good news about your platelets. Are you hosting an evening meet up at yours?

steppie - hope they fit the boiler pdq.

Wonder how sj/oxo are doing?

We will try the pool in Richmond this weekend. Anyone care to join us?

Hope you all enjoyed the lovely dry weather today.
