QC - yes I like that much better...

"Well (slight pause for effect), its not exactly Quantum Physics is it?"

I know you work on Weds, so not sure why CM said that. Or maybe I was just wishful thinking...trying to conjur up something resembling a social life fo myself

Well I haven't vomited since Thursday 5pm, so that is good. Although have to take DCs swimming this morning and weather forecast is rain

mygreatauntgriselda · 08/11/2008 08:55

Just think - in a few days we will have some new babies on this thread !!!!!!!!!

....is anyone planning to call their new baby "Barack"?

mellow2 · 08/11/2008 09:10

Ros - Sorry to hear about your uncle.

PC - LOL at mini pc's remark. That reminds me that I need to make an appointment at the hairdressers.

Hello auntie!

How much does CM's playgroup charge? We might join you there.

sfxmum · 08/11/2008 12:15

good morning all

Ros hope your uncle is better

Bunyan did you have a quiet night?

think we will need wellies for fireworks display, got soaked earlier dh and dd took it as an excuse for hot chocolate and they weren't even that wet

babies, yes details and pictures asap, do take laptop to ward
hope you both rest well this weekend

slng · 08/11/2008 14:21

Good morning! Or is it still morning?

We went shoe-shopping today. Got both DSs shoes. It's like trying to buy shoes for hyperactive millipedes. I'm exhausted.

SJ99 · 08/11/2008 15:03

LOL at thought of buying shoes for millipedes Sit down and have a rest Slng

Bunyan - I'm such a scaredy cat too with horror stories/films etc esp if I'm on my own, I get terrible nightmares. Hope you managed to sleep ok

Auntie - LOL at name suggestion, v. topical

Ros - sorry to hear about your uncle . Anymore news? DS didn't nap (as if!) but we had quiet afternoon and then he went to frieworks which he loved, he's still going on about them today.

I stayed in and finshed my book 'We need to talk about Kevin', anyone read it? I thought it was excellent but maybe not the best thing to read when you're about to give birth

sfxmum · 08/11/2008 15:53

slng you are a brave soul shoe shopping at weekend

Parkin disaster I really should not cook when I am impatient and have head on the clouds

am putting faith in weather forecast that rain will clear soon

slng · 08/11/2008 16:42

sfx - shoe shop at 9am was completely empty. In addition we have taken precautionary steps: any customer who might contemplate going in the shop would instantly be repelled by two monsters tearing about the shop barefooted.

mygreatauntgriselda · 08/11/2008 18:35

I would have though that a shop full of millipedes would put customers off

What crappo weather - got soaked this morning on way back from Pool and the sunny aftrnoon never materialised did it?

Still feeling bit fragile after Vom Fest

slng · 08/11/2008 19:39

Might attract entomologists. (Yes yes I know millipedes are not insects. What are they then if you are so clever? And what do you call people who study them? It's not quantum physics - that much I know. )

mygreatauntgriselda · 08/11/2008 21:40

Milliologists?

I thought everyone knew that!

LOL

sfxmum · 08/11/2008 21:58

fireworks went well if only I wasn't so grumpy, and while am at it why on earth do they have countless sellers of sparkly junk just so toddlers can nag parents?

anyway parkin was ok in the end and we lost KC and gherkin bit careless of us

rosmerta · 09/11/2008 08:17

Morning all,

Uncle out of hospital though they still need to run some tests. But fingers crossed its a good sign they're letting him go home!

We did go to a firework display last night in Ealing. Unfortunately, ds lasted about 2mins & then he was terrified, just buried his head in dh's shoulder so we had to leave. Once we go in the car though he asserted that 'he wasn't scared, they were just a bit loud' .

Sfx, ikwym about sparkly junk, loads of kids had things last night but fortunately they were selling it outside the grounds so we dodged that!

Bunyan, did you manage to get some sleep last night?

Ds & I are going to head off to Kew today if anyone fancies joining us. Really need to get out of the house & do something!

Kewcumber · 09/11/2008 09:58

Ros might be up for a trip to Kew but only much later - this afternoon sometime.

DS loved fireworks so much that we stayedfor the main display as well and managed to see most of it. He was exhausted having not gone to sleep until 10pmthenightbefore and still didn;t seem scaredby all thebangs (the adult one was significantly louder!).

Eventually got homearound 9pm and DS asleep at 9.30pm which meant I got a lie in until 7.30am

Met a friend of Paddles there which his DS who DS really liked, but man it was muddy - my shoes need a really good clean this morning (hands up who thinks they'll get one?)

Don;t worry about losing me sfx - was so busy - difficult to keep track of people. Happy to take more parkin of your hands today...

Kewcumber · 09/11/2008 10:00

Hope everyone well. Thanks for the well wishes
Had a good day today and went out for a lovely lunch & my mum is here now ready to look after DS. The situation is quite surreal, I'm really excited but will probably be bricking myself at the time of the precedure, anyway the outcome will be worth it. Will post when I next get chance.

Kewcumber · 09/11/2008 21:16

good luck SJ and Oxo
