Sausage, I read your post as you were off to work with D&V bug , am glad you're at home even if you can't relax!

Funny that you're considering going back to Abbey, we're with them atm, our mortgage ended beginning of this month but we've had to take out a new one with them as noone else would take us. They really haven't impressed us this time around though, messing our paperwork about and getting details wrong! But at least they are passing on the cut even if it doesn't come into effect until the next month.

sfxmum · 07/11/2008 09:45

SBS you really should not try to cheer me up just chill hope you feel better

Ros we hare with Abbey we have a funny old long term deal which is not that low, it is fixed before it all went madly up and down, we needed to know how much had to pay each month
I think I read that many banks were limiting their tracker mortgages

am refusing to feel ill must go running this weekend as plan to increase mileage

rosmerta · 07/11/2008 10:01

Sfx, I heard that as well, limiting to new customers. Fortunately, we got ours in just in time.

Victorysausages4Obama · 07/11/2008 11:12

Ros/SFX - W've had several Abbey mortgages in the past and in fact last time we switched, I wanted to stay with Abbey but they refused to give us the good deals they were offering new customrs so we switched to HBOS.

Its not a good time to be switching atm, as its very difficult to predict what will happen next. I deffo want on which we can over pay on though - if iterest rates are low we can just carry on paying the same IYKWIM but aim to pay a bit more of the capital off..

Am sitting here withthe windows open - considering whether to risk having some food or not

SJ99 · 07/11/2008 11:51

Morning all

SBS - don't eat til you're absolutely starving and try and bit of dry toast or cracker first to see if you can hold that down otherwise bug might not have cleared up yet. Hope you're getting some rest at home. Graet news about mortgage!

Sfx - hope you can keep the bugs away too. Sorry to hear about the nightmares.

Ros - thanks for offer, but going to try and get DS to nap this afternoon so that he has some energy for fireworks tonight, he has been asking to go all week

Just back from hairdressers so I feel all glamourous & have nice smelling hair will be the last time I feel like this for a while I'm sure

Also in love with my cleaner, she has left me a card and lots of choc truffles, so sweet of her!

rosmerta · 07/11/2008 16:18

Sbs, hope you're feeling better

Sj, no worries, did ds nap in the end? You've reminded me that I need to book myself in at the hairdressers as well!

My mum's rang to say one of my uncle's (my favourite one) is quite ill in hospital . Am praying he will be ok.

mygreatauntgriselda · 07/11/2008 19:22

Ros sorry to hear about your uncle. I hope he is OK. I will say a prayer for him on Sunday when we are a Church

I have sent you all an e-mail BTW

QC/Steppy R U going to CMs playgroup next Weds? Migh join you - what time are you planning to go?

She said that on Mondays they have a keep fit class with a FREE CRECHE!!!

sfxmum · 07/11/2008 20:40

got email thanks

this made me chuckle thought it just odd for foreigners

bunyanvillas · 07/11/2008 20:47

I am freaking out over here . One's imagination is unfortunately far too vivid!

sfxmum · 07/11/2008 20:49

what is the matter?

bunyanvillas · 07/11/2008 21:02

Have been reading ghost stories and am here on my own! Not even Gardeners World on in the background is distracting me

slng · 07/11/2008 21:05

Bunyan - I had nightmares when I read Dracula and that's not even scary.

bunyanvillas · 07/11/2008 21:15

I am strangely attracted to the supernatural, find it really interesting. My mum used to give off buckets as she knows what my imagination is like and it doesn't take much to get me going! Not much going on here apart from me freaking out. Looking at a HUGE HUGE HUGE basket of ironing which to be honest I can't be a*d doing. Some sort of TV now on - Gardeners World over - and me here on laptop! Should be commencing an interesting novel to feed my mind ...

slng · 07/11/2008 21:24

I'm watching midsomers. How many of these did they make? How many people are there in midsomers to be murdered every week? Surely the place has been depopulated already!

I don't watch or read anything even mildly scary. I get scared just thinking that I might get scared...

sfxmum · 07/11/2008 21:31

sorry asked then went on bedtime duty with reluctant child

can't you find a friendly/ useful ghost to do the ironing?
I love ghost stories, old new whatever, generally am not spooked unless it involves mirrors in the dark but usually manage to get back to reality, besides no such thing as ghosts

pcworld · 07/11/2008 21:32

I might have to check beneath the bed tonight plus inside the wardrobes! Or perhaps I'll just pour another small glass of wine to try and help relax ...

slng · 07/11/2008 21:35

DS1 used to think there are monsters under the bed. But they have been exorcised by him waving wildly and me opening the window and shutting it immediately so monsters don't waft back in. Try that. It works, you know.

pcworld · 07/11/2008 21:37

Sing! LOL! Yes of course, you are right, one needs to start applying the toddler tactics and not being such a big wuss Goodness me, it is 9.40 already and another evening kind of whittled away doing not much at all oops.

sfxmum · 07/11/2008 21:43

am supposed to be watching a film with dh, this left from last Tuesday when a work crisis stopped viewing and today dd is still protesting loudly that her bad dreams are hanging on the ceiling because they came out of her hair when she washed it earlier

pcworld · 07/11/2008 21:45

LoL at mini-SFX! Mini .. er .. PCWorld announced today that she was "going to make an appointment at the hairdressers after she'd popped to her grandmother's house for soup and cake"

sfxmum · 07/11/2008 22:15

the plans and ideas of 3yr olds are very funny

slng I never watched midsomer murders but I hear the body count is quite high, they should start suspecting the coppers

mygreatauntgriselda · 07/11/2008 22:32

Hi PC World!!

SFX I really hate that phrase "Its not Rocket Science" mainly 'cos people use it when they are trying to sound clever - eek

Talking of eeeks - have you recovered now Bunyan

I'm going to scare you now....

mygreatauntgriselda · 07/11/2008 22:33

BOOOOO!

mygreatauntgriselda · 07/11/2008 22:38

Bunyan, just sent you an e-mail

Kewcumber · 08/11/2008 00:04

griselda darling - I work on wednesdays no pottering around at playgroups for me...

Rocket science isn't actually particularly complicated. From physics point of view. Rocket engineering is tricky but not the same thing at all. I think we should start saying "well its not quantum mechanics" (which IMVHO) is far more difficult to understand.
