Good afternoon all.

Don't know why I get more excited about US politics than that of my home country. I suppose nothing ever changes in Japan no matter who is in power. Quite depressing, really.

sfx - sounds painful. Hope it gets better soon. Is it K that your DD likes? DS likes her, in fact he likes them all. I think pre school has really good teachers/carers, tbh.

Kewcumber · 05/11/2008 15:23

lol steppie - any reason why you should have known? Are you offended he didn't tell you?!

Spoke to your frined btw and (poor girl) did a brain dump for about an hour of every relevant thign I could think of. She has gone on holiday to recover.

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 15:30

yes, kew, actually, i am most offended he didn't think to me tell me..not even in passing..
how very dare he?

my professional celeb-facts pride takes a fall when there's something i don't know

yes, she said she found it very useful and really appreciated it. you are the fount of all knowledge: official.
last seen...frantically packing her case..

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 15:31

hello sushi

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 15:32

kew, had he told you, then...

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 15:33

i know, i know, i've got to let it lie...

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 15:35

hi sushi she likes that one but it's the other she meant L or O not sure of spelling, like you say am confident they are quite good and caring

steppie think I read about that in a wimmin mag he is a tad bonkers isn't he?

SJ99 · 05/11/2008 15:36

Welcome to a new America. Let's hope he can live up to everyone's expectations, the boy's done well

MrsR - fantastic news about sale and purchase, can't believe how quickly it has happened!

Xoxo - I'll be there on Monday when are you booked in for? Will be so nice to have a familiar face on the ward Enjoy the me time, I intend to have a veeeeerrrry relaxing weekend, no domesticity whatsoever

Ros - great to see you earlier. I told DS that miniRos was going home to sleep and so he decided to have a nap too!

Sfx - hope you get your neck sorted out, hope not too painful

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 15:36

and he has a son called Rufus oh if only dh would let me

SJ99 · 05/11/2008 15:37

LOL Steppie

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 15:38

yes, sfx, knew you would have read it, fellow mag-addict - the feature about people being married over 30 years?

SJ. rest up, m'dear. oh god, how fab if you and xoxo end up on same ward! start talking in MN code and see if anyone susses it

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 15:46

steppie did you get the one with Nigella on the cover? can't read a story in there might actually have to tear out the page just skimming it makes me cry

hi SJ how great you and xoxo on the ward indulge indulge indulge as much as you can

rosmerta · 05/11/2008 16:21

I read that same article, didn't think it was Nigella on the cover though!

Sj, glad to see ds can sometimes be a good influence

Kewcumber · 05/11/2008 16:22

adoption pedant alert..

"Bellamy has five children - four are adopted"

should read...

"Bellamy has five children - four were adopted"

as far as a description of how they came into the family - they were adopted in the same way their bio son was born.

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 16:30

kew, kew, old gal, yes, yes, yes, you're quite right..but let's not stray from the main issue...
the gwape-gwappling* man didn't tell MOI.....

no, don't think nigella was on front..
think it was in easy living

Kewcumber · 05/11/2008 16:35

in his defence steppie - it was quite a while ago and you were probably quite a bit younger and wouldnt have been interested in him them. MAybe he tried to tel you but you just weren't paying attention.

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 16:37

steppie/ ros yes I know it was EL with penny on cover but my sub is for red which has Nigella on cover there is a story in there which is hard to read (why I avoid October mags with all the breast cancer stories) I dissolve into hypochondriac status

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 16:48

kew, don't try to defend him...
there's never even been a glimmer of a hint of a suggestion
and to think he was on my list of the few men i think suit beards....

actually, to be fair, come to think of it..of course i wasn't even born when he adopted his children...

sfx, oh yes, haven't er, read, red yet with the lovely nigella on the front

crisis over - strong smell of gas throughout house but builders assure me they've "sorted" it...

dh has come home wit a man-cold...poor thing oh goody, he can make dinner

ComeOVeneer · 05/11/2008 17:45

So what is the story re paddle? Is she ok/away/fed up of us?

Victorysausages4Obama · 05/11/2008 18:32

SFX is it hurting from stickin it out too much LOL? (your neck that is)

Sushi - I think things changed in one little town in Japan today

DH has purchased somefire works to entertain DCs with later

xoxo · 05/11/2008 19:26

SJ: I'm booked in for first thing Tuesday It would be lovely if you are there - are you having a c-s? If so, I'll see you on the recovery ward (is it Thameside?) on Tuesday afternoon where we have individual rooms (I love Kingston!).

ok ladies - I have had all bits waxed (not 'there', sorry too much of a woose for that much pain), hair dyed and cut, manicure, pedicure, facial and massage.

what else can I do for me???

Mrs R: utility room AND a swing? I officially hate you.

Also, I like David Bellamy (who wouldn't?), but really, move on ladies..... Steppy - time to heal.

xoxo · 05/11/2008 19:28

and, yes, where is paddle?

have her and Athene run off together and started an elite little club?? I think we should be told

ComeOVeneer · 05/11/2008 19:50

Athene doesn't post here anymore because the thread moves to fast for her (she can only pop in once in a while). I have no idea where paddle is.

If you (xoxo) and SJ are in Kingston at the same time that would be fab. Am happy to pop in (if you want) with some goodies.

Kew I haven't forgotten about the slow cooker (actually I remembered last weekend as I was driving past your road to ILs). I am passing your way on Sat 15th Nov so will drop it off/stick it on the door step then (have written a note in my diary).

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 20:18

sausage sadly these days I am so middle of the road that my neck does not stick out at all
It was hurting enough for painkillers which for me is saying something

xoxo that sounds like quality me time
I wish you and SJ the easiest birth possible with a speedy recovery and be kind to nosy people - speedy updates on board

Victorysausages4Obama · 05/11/2008 20:36

Oxo and SJ - how amazing if you see each other at the hossie

I was due with DS2 the same day as a BF but she had the cheek to have her's (one of D2's current girlfriends)6 days early

SFX - there are two words for that - Middle" and "Age" (the politics and the pain in the neck)

Paddle sent me a celebrtory reponse his morning - she is fine
