xoxo me me me sounds reasonable to me at this stage, enjoy

bunyan funny about oven was looking to order some oven mate thingy to clean mine which is in deplorable state

at least tomorrow I will get to go running and hopefully the pain in my neck will not bother me, no idea how I got the blasted thing this way

I can tell I will be peeking at the news during the night dd has been going around saying, 'new president day tomorrow' we teach her well

think will watch a film with dh tonight distract us from the craziness, have you noticed how W is nowhere to be seen? clearly a liability to the republicans

slng · 04/11/2008 20:51

xoxo - my dream house would have an entrance hall that does not require everyone to squash into each other (see picture in profile), has somewhere to let wet things drip, and has a floor that automatically sucks up dirt and mud. Utility room's not bad either.

We have a Tibetan cherry tree in the school playground (I think). Isn't it a beautiful tree?

sfxmum · 04/11/2008 21:07

not allowed to see link but I expect it is pretty don't they have them at Kew?

MrsRecycle · 04/11/2008 21:23

steppie - it has 3 beds at the moment but we're hoping to finish off the loft conversion so there'll be 5. Plenty of space for liggers - or you can bring a tent.

xoxo - if my memory serves me right it has a tree with a swing. It definitely has a utility room (one big plus for me).

slng - a big entrance hallway was dh's stipulation and we got that as well - enough room for a piano to go in.

I was talking to fil about it and suddenly realised that all the the bathrooms and the kitchen do not need any work doing to them whatsoever. So only new carpets/lick of paint and we're in.

MrsRecycle · 04/11/2008 21:25

xoxo - excuse my rudeness but just re-read and YOU'RE HAVING THE BABY NEXT WEEK....yikes - how exciting for you! Congratulations.

Victorysausages4Obama · 05/11/2008 07:02

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahay!!!

What a historic day!

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 07:46

that is a huge relief

rosmerta · 05/11/2008 09:01

I'm so happy!!

xoxo, can't believe you're having the baby next week . Me time definitely sounds like a good idea.

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 10:47

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

strange to have an american president who looks positively youthful, tho..

xoxo...OMG!!!!!! yep, get as much me! me! me! time as you possibly can while you can, m'dear

bunyan...you're a brave woman. last tiime we got professionals in to clean our oven my ma was not impressed..just needed a bit of (I fear my) elbow grease apparently..
mrsR..house is gorgeous. tent?..splutter...i don't think so..i'll have the deluxe new loft room, thanks

pretty up against it at mo with work et al, but most pressing right now is going back to nursery as have forgotten dd's lunchbox..
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 10:52

dh has cleaned up my desktop for me

how very dare he?
he took some persuading that chilli lights, spa weekends, russian doll tin containers, a million pendant light files, were all work-related, tho!
ach well, got to call him a control freak, so that's OK

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 10:55

dh tidies up for me too takes me weeks to find my trash again

did 4 miles la la la did 4 miles, all in celebration you understand listening to The Boss

ComeOVeneer · 05/11/2008 12:25

I think I would faint if dh cleared up for me. Infact I think he is scared to do so rather than won't because he knows it wouldn't be to my standard and I would just moan!

Good luck xoxo, I had no idea it was so soon, and you will be in Kingston. I could pop in with cake if you like .

Will try and have a quick read and catch up on everyone elses news too. Hope everyone/los are all well. Is paddle absent, as I hadn't notice her posting recently. Hope she is ok.

ComeOVeneer · 05/11/2008 12:28

Sausage, am slightly bothered that when you read bunyan's post re oven cleaning, you just assumed it was me. I really do need to get a life .

slng · 05/11/2008 13:00

I'm defrosting the freezer. I think it's symbolic.

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 14:05

dh is very good at cleaning/ ironing/ cooking but does not do it as often as before

must find motivation to write essay, interesting subject how policy interventions at school level affect health - the milk and playing fields thing might get a mention I think

hope everyone is well on this dull dull day

yeppeeee!

Victorysausages4Obama · 05/11/2008 14:11

CoV- Ooops sorry LOL!! You Domestic Godess - yes I did think it as you!

Obama! Obama! Obama!

rosmerta · 05/11/2008 14:19

sfx, there's also the Fruit for Schools programme if that helps

Have BBC news on, great watching all the reactions etc, especially as I didn't see any of the coverage last night!

Victorysausages4Obama · 05/11/2008 14:21

Obama's acceptance speach in full, its very moving:

www.dailykos.com/story/2008/11/5/0510/83437/390/653543

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 14:27

thanks Ros good link

I watched Obama's speech when he announced that he would be running and I thought 'If only' and here we are, dh greeted me with
'you don't have to worry about Palin giving McCain frights'

good speech, he seems so even and calm am quite impressed I don't think he has Clinton's weaknesses so might actually get the job done

rosmerta · 05/11/2008 14:30

lol sfx. I found out from the radio with the dj saying 'Essentially Barack Obama will sell your house'!

I'm staying away from the thread that says there isn't going to be much change at all. Think we could have at least one day of optimism!

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 14:46

apparently dd told a teacher at nursery that she liked her very much and she was doing a good job the woman was beaming

think a career in politics beacons

Ros not expecting miracles but really after the current utter disappointment and this being kind, it has to be better

now we just have to shake up the current number 10 incumbents sorely lost their way I feel

anyway will stop politics for now

will probably have to see the doctor as seem to have done something to my neck, it hurts

rosmerta · 05/11/2008 14:51

Sfx, it couldn't get much worse really!

Re the running, dh has had similar problems with his neck since starting to train properly. I'll ask if he ever found out what was causing it.

sfxmum · 05/11/2008 14:56

am not sure if it was the running you see it started hurting after I feel asleep in an awkward position in dd's bed but I think there is a good sports physio in Kew

actually come to think of it I have had it before so may well be connected, my right shoulder has always been a bit dodgy and t is on that side, I should cross train properly for upper body strength

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 15:12

yes, good speech, passion delivered with humility.
can't get the image of a 106-year-old black woman casting her vote, probably never dreaming that she would live to see the day...

sfx, very interesting topic. i remember at school we had PE every day, ds1 and ds2 have it twice a week - and that's more often than some schools, i think
(btw, i hated PE..not quite the point, tho..)

stepfordwife · 05/11/2008 15:19

on a different matter entirely..
didn't know david bellamy had adopted four children..
