..that's great news, mrs R
ta, much better now. yes, lots of bargains to be had, that's for sure.

SJ..yes do enjoy your week with ds. i vividly remember looking into ds1's little face when we were having a cuddle, feeling really sad - and almost guilty - i was about to have another baby.
of course, i was happy and excited about another baby, but it was that bitter-sweet feeling of that one-to-one time ending..

too frazzled to think anything by time about to give birth to dd

god, it's just so exciting. this time next week...

ComeOVeneer · 03/11/2008 16:54

Great news on the house MrsR. Sad news for your friend's brother, Kew and SJ your friends' news also.

Bust week had here over half term. 3 days at my parents, 3 days at dh's parents. We did the science museum on Friday which was fun but heaving, as was the natural history. Friday we carved pumpkins and did trick or treat "Hampstead garden suburb" style. Including a visit to Johnathan Ross's house for his extravaganza (he is one of dh's parents' neighbours). He had a 8-9 ft remote controllled terminator, a life sized (person in costume) "alien" as in from the movie of that name). Also various aliens on 2 legged and 4 legged stilts (theme being area 51). Despite what people may think of him and what he has done, he is unlike alot of othe celebrities who get too big for their boots to associate with us meer mortals. It was fantastic, although ds did get a bit freaked out when the terminator spoke to him

rosmerta · 03/11/2008 17:15

MrsR, fab news on the house!

Steppie, glad you're getting over your cold & that you got to have a night away!

Sj, I hadn't realised it was so close, how exciting! Ikwym about not being just the two of us anymore, does make me feel a little .

Sfx, don't worry, my lips are sealed . Btw, you were right, the fireworks are this weekend so we might try and make it.

sfxmum · 03/11/2008 17:19

fantastic mrsR good luck with Rye offer

steppie sorry to hear hope you are feeling better now, school run aside

thanks Ros have been looking at it again

sushi good to know glad ds is better

SJ if he has no temp ds might well enjoy the change

and hope all goes well on last appointment I can see what you mean about end of family of 3

bunyanvillas · 03/11/2008 17:46

Wow Mrs R - great!!!!!! I'm sure it was the positive vibes that I was sending

SJ - exciting!!!! Although I know it must feel like a strange time, mixed emotions etc. Hope ds is on the mend now and you can enjoy your time together. I feel perhaps a bit like that with regards to dd being "at school" 5 days a week - we hardly did anything last week as I just wanted us to hang out and do all the simple things that we like doing such as going to the park, reading, painting, watching the TV in our jim-jams. Found today quite hard and am now really looking forward to the Christmas hols!

Wow, Cov - that sounds like quite an amazing Hallowe'en! Lucky you!! I guess Jonathan may have been hiding in his house still, eh? Or was it him dressed up as the terminator?

At this end ds has enjoyed the cauliflower cheese I made (poor little thing does not yet realise what a dunce I am in the kitchen). dd, sadly, did not, and is now watching Peppa Pig munching toast

slng · 03/11/2008 18:04

MrsR - great news!! Let's meet up before you run off down south!

Bunyan - I do resent school - you hardly have any time to just lurk about, have you? But hols are only good if you've got time off too, so quite looking forward to Christmas break!

SJ99 · 03/11/2008 18:07

We just had chicken curry, yum. DH can have his later when he gets in, he is out most nights this week - think he must be trying to enjoy his last week of 'freedom'

Yes am feeling mixed emotions, having spent virtually every day for nearly past 3yrs with DS is coming to an end but excited that baby is on it's way. Hope to do some fun things with DS this week, Bunyan, like you said, doing the simple stuff is so much fun. Today we did baking

COV - glad you had a great week, esp hobnobbing with the stars

Ros - make the most of your last few wks with DS, time goes so fast

ComeOVeneer · 03/11/2008 18:33

SJ I know what you mean about the realisation that LO1 will no longer be the only. I had a lovely day with dd today (inset day, ds at nursery til 3.30). We shopped, lunched, went to see high school musical 3 at the cinema. Apart from the odd hour here or there I can't recall the last time I was able to devote my time to her exclusively. DS is still part time until he starts school next Sept so I still have regular opportunities for 1 to 1 with him, but it is rare dd is with me and ds is elsewhere.

bunyanvillas · 03/11/2008 19:00

Yum! Chicken curry

SJ, on a Sat we tend to swap around so that perhaps I take dd to dancing and out for "coffee" or the park and dh has ds - and vice versa. Newborns sleep so much too so you will have plenty of chances to curl up with ds and read a book.

Must go and read the paper that dh has brought home and find out what is going on in the world We have the Guardian plus London Lite so importantly as well as the latest update on BBC shenanigans and last minute US election fever, I will also know who was up to what in whatever nightclub last night

Kewcumber · 03/11/2008 19:39

lots of people do say Ross is very nice. I think he is like many "personalities" a little inclined to show off iff egged on which gets a bit out of control occasioanlly. nature of the beast really.

sfxmum · 04/11/2008 08:17

good morning

sausagesforobama · 04/11/2008 09:36

Very good morning so far!

is it morning?
still?

Kewcumber · 04/11/2008 10:40

steppie - meeting your friend for a quick lunch today...

CM's playgroup opens on Weds I think - perhaps we could go show solidarity next week - have arranged to meet Ma's neighbour for coffee this Friday (do gatecrash!)

stepfordwife · 04/11/2008 11:56

ah, sure you'll be loads of help to her, kew. she's lovely.

yes, i was thinking that - opening on fireworks day sticks in the mind, doesn't it? yes deffo be on for a visit there next week..

hmm, better not gatecrash. sure she'd prefer to have a quiet coffee rather than piccadilly circus like last time!

MrsRecycle · 04/11/2008 12:14

Rye house has accepted our offer so all systems go. Told DDs last night and they screamed the house down - even ds joined in though doubt he knew why. Yes bunyan, definitely your vibes - can I come every Saturday when I do the lottery .

slng - hope things don't go too quickly and that we can arrange a meet-up. dh is being very cynical and thinks its all going to fall to pieces so we'll see.

stepfordwife · 04/11/2008 12:24

that's fantastic, mrsR
you must be so excited
will keep my fingers crossed everything goes OK
There was an article about rye in the ev standard mag last week saying it was the latest trendy place
so, how many bedrooms has it got for us liggers-- relatives to stay?

sfxmum · 04/11/2008 12:33

great news mrsR hope all goes well

we haven't yet managed to leave the house dd is busy playing shops, gluing and cutting, getting quite good with scissors, I probably should be worried

slng · 04/11/2008 16:37

I'm bored.

rosmerta · 04/11/2008 17:25

Me too. Plus whingy child is seriously testing my patience.

sfxmum · 04/11/2008 17:36

bored here too but at least dd in shiny happy mood
completely un inspired to cook so veggie casserole it will be

am slightly nervous about this election business

hffvvvcccxxxfujif dd's contribution

bunyanvillas · 04/11/2008 19:09

Me too, have been really fed up, fairly low and also bored today. In my "lunchbreak" ie dd at school, ds sleeping, I cleaned the oven! And then felt depressed thinking "is this what my life has come to". LoL! On a positive note, am excited about tomorrow although agree am also vaguely nervous. If I don't manage to get much sleep tonight (likely) at least there will be something interesting on TV!

Anyway, off to peel some spuds and whistle a merry tune Tomorrow will hopefully be a better day for all bored people on here!

Victorysausages4Obama · 04/11/2008 19:16

I am soo excited about tomorrow I am terrified something will go wrong!!!

CoV - LOL at cleaning the oven - no wonder you feel down, having been looking at the inside of an oven

xoxo · 04/11/2008 19:51

Bored - who's bored? Not me. I'm having a baby next week - date has been brought forward due to minor issues.

OMG!!!!! spent today getting 'ready'. But find I'm still in denial about the whole pregnancy.
Suspect that I'll say 'who, me, are you sure?' when they hand me the baby.

ps - I loved the house in Rye. My dream home. If it has a big tree with a swing on it, and a utility room (my ultimate dream! sad but true) I'll be tempted to knock off MRs R and get it myself.

Off to phone Good Earth for a last minute mum and dad meal. Decided the next few days should be dedicated to me, me, me as after next week I'll not have a second to myself ever again. (any excuse, eh?)

Other preggers mums - pls say you'll be in kingston early neek week and we'll keep eachother company. [hopeful emotion}
