Had to change my name, as the other name was so last week

SJ99 · 02/11/2008 09:46

Like the new name SBS [hgrin]

MrsR - the cheek of the girl [hshock] Good news about house and bills though

Slng - LOl at missing chicken recipe!

Ros - must be a North/South thing!

Sfx - hope you enjoyed paper and coffee, idyllic

Not sure we'll be around Mon, DS seems to be taking 3 steps fwd and 1 back with the teething, just when I think he's getting better he gets all grumpy and shoves his fingers in his mouth. Anyway at least rash has gone.

Saw Bond last night, v. entertaining film but I found the ending incomplete, did enjoy it though

Bunyan - PMSL at 'I do still maintain that Bill has a certain glint in his eye', that's the best laugh I've had all week [hgrin]

SJ99 · 02/11/2008 09:47

oops looks like Halloween emoticons have gone

MrsRecycle · 02/11/2008 16:35

Oops don't know what happened there

sfxmum · 02/11/2008 17:05

hello all
bring on the bonfire and fireworks and lets celebrate the wholesome values that it represents
dd's objection is that no appropriate chocolate treats are included in the festivities

SJ am still to watch Casino Royale, not a big Bond fan but don't mind it on dvd, dh alleges he could not find it at library

looking at parkin recipes and some of them are really lightweight, no treacle surely not!

quiet day here dh has a serious man cold but will make an heroic effort and cook dinner, bless him

explodingsausage · 02/11/2008 17:15

SFX LOL at "wholesome values"of Guy Fawkes night!!!

sfxmum · 02/11/2008 17:19

torture terrorism ans religious intolerance are very in actually

mellow2 · 02/11/2008 18:03

Sfx - @ post. I'm not a Bond fan at all but I thought Casino Royale was alright. I thought the ending was a bit vague. It must be a theme with DC productions.

Hi everyone, another busy but fun weekend! Though ds came off his scooter today and has a big scraped bump on his head now!

MrsR, good news on the house & refund!

I'd heard with Casino Royale & the next 2 Bond films that they're meant to form a trilogy so maybe that's why they don't seem to end properly?

Ds & dh are playing hide & seek but ds keeps yelling out where he's hiding!

rosmerta · 02/11/2008 18:26

Sfx, parkin without treacle is not parkin!

bunyanvillas · 02/11/2008 19:02

So is hallowe'en over already? I haven't even had a slice of apple pie!

Well, today's adult/kids party was a great success and now ...... peace ... ahhhhhhhhhh! Tomorrow will be a really MONDAY. Must plan the next afternoon soiree here soon. I know, I know, it doesn't make sense but I don't like the phrases "get-together" or "shindig" .. shudder.

Hope everyone is doing well. My cake actually turned out well which as some of you may know, is a wee bit of a result for me!

explodingsausage · 02/11/2008 19:48

Bunyan - I'd be up for a shindig but can only do Mon/Weds (no pressure LOL!)

SFX Haw Haw totally agree....I saytha as Catholic

....BTW, if the Change candidate doesn't get elected on Tuesday what will we all do???

...am terrified he might get assasinated

What does your DD think?

Ros - is your wee DS on a scooter already?

sfxmum · 02/11/2008 19:51

thanks Ros I thought as much (about parkin)
the hide and seek seems very much like ours, but she is learning

bunyan great success marvellous but what cake did you go for in the end?

SJ DC film I remember was 'the mother' and 'Layer cake' must be others

have 'there will be blood' to watch but not today I fear DDL would annoy me must be in right mood

must say how much I love BBC iplayer wish I could watch all channels like that bt some players are not compatible with my laptop

have been watching

  • the story of maths
  • merlin
  • little dorrit
  • silent witness

and a few radio shows too like the news quiz and yesterday something from radio2 about the hallelujah LC song

end of adverts for auntie
if only they payed me as much as they do JRoss

sfxmum · 02/11/2008 20:03

sausage that is pretty much what we were saying last Friday it will be difficult not to stay up

dd is currently doing her dance to her fave song 'what's the excuse' or 'you said you would' according to dd by mcAlmont and Buttler
dh got a video of the song and dd remarked 'oh look that's Bernard Buttler and his woman'

LOL can't take her anywhere

explodingsausage · 02/11/2008 21:01

..to stay up for the count on tuesday, or for the fireworks on weds??

sfxmum · 02/11/2008 21:32

the count although the fireworks have been keeping dd up all week

btw have you noticed Mumsnet now has games!

must keep dd away from it or all will be lost

explodingsausage · 02/11/2008 21:52

Games???

rosmerta · 03/11/2008 07:56

Hi all,

Sfx, lol @ dd

Sausage, ds is on a scooter one of the 3-wheeled ones. He loves it & goes so fast it does scare me a little! Fortunately he will wear a helmet!

Bunyan, well done on the cake, what did you make in the end?

bunyanvillas · 03/11/2008 08:00

Yes, ds has been granted permission to be up during the night on Tuesday

dd has announced that she does not like the noisy fireworks and that "mummy, you can go to the fireworks on your own" on Sat, with a pointed finger etc ... Am as I always like going "oooh ... ahhhhh" at the organised displays! The locals setting off fireworks in back gardens is not the same and is in fact, ruddy annoying!

Fear I am likely to be dragged to a freezing park this morning so just pouring a VAT of coffee down the throat ahead of this.

Hope everyone is well and various coughs and colds are on the mend. Is it wrong of me to allow myself to be excited about Christmas from Wednesday onwards? I need something to look forward to!!

bunyanvillas · 03/11/2008 08:02

Ros/SFX - it was a victoria sponge - but a Nigella one, all the same! Need to be more daring, am so conservative in all areas of my life. Perhaps I should train to be an exotic dancer or start flying lessons to bring a bit of pizzaz to the arena. Bit like the granny in that Maureen Lipman book if anyone has read it

sfxmum · 03/11/2008 09:18

good morning all

bunyan a victoria sponge is delicious, absolute classic

ros dd has scooter too dh bought her a Barbie bell for it when at bike shop, at her insistence, or so he says

bit of a weird night here, dh coughed and spluttered all night then at half 4 decided he was getting up and went crash banging in the kitchen until I went over and closed the door, dd woke up too

at least she slept until now, will sort out breakfast then try and head out for whatever

btw do you think that £44 is too much to pay for going to see a show by someone I am not a huge fan of, so that I can lust after a special guest? answers on a postcard before the tickets go please

bunyanvillas · 03/11/2008 09:23

It's a lot - but depends. Who is the special guest?? Heading out into the damp, cold greyness in a moment Will find a park where there is a coffee stop nearby lol!
