..of course I was, SJ.. as did any self-respecting child of the 70s

the racket music is marginally less annoying than recorders

so, yes, quite right of dh, sfx..tell him david bowie also used the stylophone..not quite as sreet cred as rolf harris, obviously

ros..thanks muchly..can't get into my emails at mo but will have a look when the gremlins let me. at your mouse encounter. i would have screamed, too.

anyone been watching the restaurant? god, that love-dovey doughnuts couple annoy me.

right, off to have a bath and read this week's stash of mags..a day late
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 22/10/2008 21:21

sing, what's silence?

stepfordwife · 22/10/2008 21:23

got the registration forms for dd starting reception next year ...

even more they gave them to ds1 to give to me who would forget his head if it wasn't screwed on

bath ready now

Kewcumber · 22/10/2008 21:28

steppie- you're welcome to workhere during the day of you need to get away from teh builders - my Ma has a key.

gadgets - I have persuaded work to buy me one of these I'm about to go to bed and see if I can hook it up to my wireless network and MN from bed

So tired - poor ma had DS last night - worked till past 11pm and didn;t get hometilafter midnight then did some moreuntil about 2am then up again at 7am

DS still has horrible whezzy croupy cough but dr has checked it and is OK so back to CM tomorrow.

SushiMummy · 23/10/2008 07:33

Morning all.

sfx - I think I bought the same ipod (nano, right?) for my DH. He LOVES it. Did you have your name engraved?

SJ/xoxo - bet you can't wait! My birthday is 12 Nov, another mysterious/sexy scorpio here!

steppie - when we had the extension done, things I hated most was the dustiness. Everything I touched, it's sandy/dusty, truely horible!

QC - glad Gherkin kun is on the mend. You sound exhausted. Hope you feel better soon.

My lovely assistant dragged me to Abercrombie shop yesterday. Tis the most irritating and intimidating shop in the world. My ears still hurt!!!

SushiMummy · 23/10/2008 07:48

QC, you are in Media, right? My company is thinking of doing a Japanese themed party in December. Do you know any venues that have some link to Japan/Orient? Tried Br Museum (too expensive), Br Libruary (too far), Lexus show room (run by British dealership), Gherkin (too expensive and has nothing to do with Japan), Muji/Uniclo (shops too small). Any idea, QC or anyone? TIA BTW, Kew Gardens would be nice but too far for the city guys.

stepfordwife · 23/10/2008 10:10

good morning all
bit parky, eh?
can't put heating on as they've revented our boiler and carbon monoxide is pumping into the bathroom

dh didn't seem bothered as says the window is open
anyhow have told them to sort it NOW

kew, thankyou, that's very kind of you. hopefully we're o the home straight now, but may well take you up on your offer if it gets a bit too crazy here
actually, it's been fine over all, haven't really been fazed by it (famous last words..)

sushi, apologies if you've already been on to them, but maybe the japan society may have some venue ideas..they must have plenty of anglo-japanese cultural bashes, surely!
[email protected]

ooohhhhhh, abandon work, the kitchen's arrived...

stepfordwife · 23/10/2008 10:12

sushi, yes, the dust does get everywhere..
doesn't bother me that much (always pretty dusty around here )
what i miss most is a dishwasher

slng · 23/10/2008 10:17

morning!

Sushi - Holland park has a Japanese garden (at least 5 years ago it did), though what you'd do there I wouldn't know!

sfxmum · 23/10/2008 11:14

morning all took my shiny new gadget for a run, it is my new pet

sushi 'tis indeed a nano, no no engravings, can't help with Japanese entertainment

SJ a delicious niblesome partridge then?
some of his recipes look interesting must try some time

steppie probably out stroking new kitchen so nevermind

slng as much as I love silence sometimes only music makes it bearable
also I like listening to poetry, when it is not in Portuguese I require the interpretation of a good reading.

bunyan around?

bit cold out but still nice hope everyone is well

I guess only paddle will laugh with me but was looking at thread about Nick Cave getting wife pregnant, allegedly, and someone said
'Nick Cave only has to glower at a woman to make her pregnant' PMSL

apologies to all

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 23/10/2008 12:50

sfx - lol @Nick Cave! Saw him in Brixton a few years back, good gig.

steppie/slng - thanks for the ideas! Will have a look.

SJ99 · 23/10/2008 15:13

Hello all

LOL re: Nick Cave, he does indeed look v. moody!
Sfx - glad you're enjoying your new pet

Ros - nice to see you and DS earlier. DS fast asleep now, miniRos obviously a good influence on him
BTW - what games do you have? My bro said he'd get me some for b'day pressie and I have no idea which ones are good. Recommendations please!

Sushi - can't help with venue but hope you find somewhere

Kew - Glad DS is getting better, hope you get some sleep soon yourself

Steppie - hope not long befeore buidlers are out of the way. Can understand longing for dishwasher, we didn't have one for 2.5yrs in Sweden (no plumbing in flat) and I really missed it!

sfxmum · 23/10/2008 16:25

dh is a bit dangerous near games, can get quite obsessive such a boy I can't just keep getting Lara Croft killed even in practice sessions

ros is the equipment assembled yet?

dd told me she does not like a girl a pre school and that they are no longer friends, not sure what happened but she was quite firm about it

am I the only one without microwave or dishwasher? never felt the need for either

OP posts:
mellow2 · 23/10/2008 16:53

Hello all,

Dd and I had nice dimsum lunch with friends. Weather was a bit grim but I think dd enjoyed running around even though it was quite windy.

Sfx - I thought I didn't need a dishwasher until I had one. It made me really lazy.

rosmerta · 23/10/2008 17:17

Sj, nice to see you too. Ds didn't nap unfortunately so guess the influence goes both ways . We did make it to the library though and he's been watching Monsters Inc, so a quietish afternoon.

Re games, I'm just in the process of selling mine as once I've played them a few times I get a bit bored! Depends on what you like, the Brain Training is quite good, I like the puzzle games more than action ones.

Sfx, pushchair is assembled, am very pleased with it! Has playground politics started already

Mellow, glad you had a nice lunch
