SFX Well done on essay mark!

I like Stephen Pound = he's ever so witty. I often use his phrase about being "a true west Londoner - born within the sound of Heathrow Airport" LOL!

Slng - it does sound funny - conjures up an image on me sitting on local politicians whipping them or something PMSL!!! (Sorry, over active imagination over here...). I have been working on them - talking up our company at loads of Forums and meetings so they would take an interest and it has worked

They are Tory but surprisingly reasonable and actually much easier to deal with than their rotten old Labour predeccessors I have to admit.

bunyanvillas · 20/10/2008 20:51

Sing - lol at party dilemma!! No, we haven't been to one of these affairs either so have no idea what the etiquette is. And have not been through the doors of McD's since I was about 22!

Sausage, your outfit sounds perfect - in fact, to me that sounds smart! DS has recently been out and about sporting the cute little cardigan that you lent us, it really suits him.

Am excited to see that Quantum of the Solace opens end-next week and will def make an effort to go and see Daniel Craig on the big screen.

Off now to investigate a few things. Back later. mysterious emoticon

slng · 20/10/2008 20:57

sausage - LOL at image of politicians. That was why I asked you whether they were tories, who are notorious for this kind of thing, allegedly.

sfxmum · 21/10/2008 09:31

good morning people doesn't it look lovely today!
hope everyone is well

bunyan - spill

bunyanvillas · 21/10/2008 09:34

Is there a raised eyebrow emoticon on here? Can't do it in real life, you see, such a useful skill.

So - anyone doing Ravenscourt then? I would like to take dd but think it will be just the girls as can't imagine ds liking it too much.

Off to the library now to return dh's unread, late, library book. Plus emergency strong coffee stop, not that I ever need an excuse, am addicted to coffee shops!

sfxmum · 21/10/2008 09:51

bunyan am sure you do a mean sceptical face mainlining coffee are you? well at least it tastes good and coffee shops have cake
we should be doing Ravenscourt this year it was really good last year

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 21/10/2008 10:39

bunyan, i'm a coffee shop addict, too
they're my off-shore office ...not sure how professional it sounds with the cappuccino machine spluttering away in the background, mind you.

dh comments how all the staff seem to know me...
and dd's first word was babycino
am trying to curb the habit, tho, as it's not cheap, eh? but out of the house, people watching and caffeine fix, what more could you want?

sfx, tempted to try ravenscroft this year. it was on quite early, wasn't it?

hello everyone else
right, work... (a four-letter word, you know)
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 21/10/2008 10:40

ravenscourt even

mellow2 · 21/10/2008 10:50

Morning everyone.

Lovely morning. Stayed in for a delivery and then called the shop only to find out that it hadn't been dispatched yet!

Kew - Hope ds and you are feeling better.

Steppie, bunyan - luuuuuuv coffee shops too. Unfortunately, too skint to indulge in lattes.

rosmerta · 21/10/2008 11:39

morning all, hope you're all well.

Mellow, how annoying re delivery!

Just had the fright of my life - have seen some mouse droppings in one of the cupboards so was clearing it out and said mouse was in a packet of rice - ALIVE . Needless to say, I squealed like the girl I am and ran . Don't want to go back in there now but have to...

mellow2 · 21/10/2008 14:12

Ros - Yikes! I would scream too. I'm scared stiff of vermin.

Sausage - Well done on visit. I have loads of coral coloured things that I bought 2 years ago. It's a lovely colour isn't it?

sfxmum · 21/10/2008 14:26

hi all minor miracle dd refused to go into C&C
hurrah nice walk around Kew but I think it must be half term somewhere nearby

Ros think I would scream too for the sudden fright that is don't mind them with warning my n my cupboard

steppie doors at 6.30 link some posts back can post again if you wish

mellow that is really annoying
my lovely new ipod is due soon but they don't really tell when

it is shiny and green and it does clever things

Kewcumber · 21/10/2008 15:13

good news here - saw a proper doctor this week

He thinks my earlier count of 130 was probably bollocks (my description not his) and platelets now at 105 so ignoring the 130 count they would have gone 0 10 44 77 65 105. which makes more sense.

So he's happy for me to reduce again to 50 this week then bloods again next week with a view to going down again to 40 next week.

Poor DS really has a very nasty cough and was up half the night but he seems quite perky despite it and only a lowish temperature.

Sorry not going to read posts not enough time, hope everyone is still alive and will catch up later. Working v v late at work tonight as mum has DS overnight (bless her)

rosmerta · 21/10/2008 16:05

Kew, glad you saw someone competent & that everything seems ok. If your mum needs a break I'm happy to look after ds for a morning or afternoon.

SJ99 · 21/10/2008 16:29

Kew - great news, what a relief & that it all makes sense

Ros - my reaction would've been the same! Have you seen the mouse since?

Bunyan - sounds v. cryptic indeed....Am also keen to watch Bond on the big screen if possible, maybe my final outing

SBS - well done on visit, nice to get some praise from your boss too

Sfx - glad you enjoyed the walk, can't believe weather is so nice and I am stuck indoors!

Been in hospital all morning, it was 2hrs before I was seen. Have made my decision to go for elective c-s, baby reinforced decision as it's still in breech.

Now am waiting for Tesco delivery which didn't turn up last night . They only have half hr left before time slot has gone, will try and blag more vouchers if they fail to show up again. Mellow - feel for you with your delivery.

mellow2 · 21/10/2008 16:29

Kew - That must have been a relief. Hope work calms down soon.

mellow2 · 21/10/2008 16:33

SJ - Good that you've made a decision re baby. 2 hours again?! Your appointments sound like a nightmare.

When I rang the shop up about the delivery, they said they weren't sure when they were going to deliver the flour (I bought a sack of bread flour as it's cheaper online) as they've run out and they might need to mill some. If their flour weren't so good, I wouldn't put up with this nonsense.

I'm going to brave the cold and take dd to the park. I'm a real wuss when it comes to walks in the cold especially at the beginning of the cold season. It must come from growing up in a tropical country.

SJ99 · 21/10/2008 16:39

Yes what nightmare, Kingston are either really good and are dead efficient or as with last 2 appointments have been absolutely chaotic, doesn't seem to be any middle ground. At least this time they paid for my additional parking costs as I refused to pay any more as it wasn't my fault my parking had run out. The truth was I'd left my purse at home by mistake and had no more cash on me but they didn't need to know that

When will you get the new flour then?

sfxmum · 21/10/2008 16:47

KC good to hear have they located and dispatched janitor?

I really like this cold season as long as it is dry love scarves gloves coats but under estimated just how cold it was today

I now have some warmer running gear , short sleeve t's no longer cutting it

SJ shocked at Tesco hope you got a discount
ante natal appointments/ scans seems to be well over booked every where shocking waiting times

OP posts:
rosmerta · 21/10/2008 16:49

Sj, 2 hours . Did you have ds with you? I'm glad I tend to have my appointments at the health centre rather than the hospital as they seem to be more on time. Glad you've made a decision anyway, have you got a date?

Haven't seen the mouse since but have called the council & booked them in to come round & lay some traps, hopefully they'll catch them. I have been seriously disinfecting the kitchen though!

SJ99 · 21/10/2008 17:01

No thankfully I've been having my appointments when DS at preschool. Only went to hospital as needed to see consultant & have scan. Scary decision to have to make but I do feel quite liberated now that it's been arranged. Booked in for 10th Nov, can't wait now

Good luck with mouse hunt!

Sfx - I love this weather too, may head to Kew tom if weather is nice again & I have the energy

Waiting for Tesco to call back as they don't know what's happened to our order

mellow2 · 21/10/2008 18:32

We had a nice walk to Syon Park but it was too cold to hang around for long. I must remember my gloves for these walks.

SJ - @ Tesco delivery.

10 Nov, that's a Monday. I bet you can't wait to meet your baby now that you know when s/he is arriving.
