Hello!

Party was very nice. Came back with a whole load of cake! The best kind of cake - somebody else's home made cake.

Ros - we had pushchair that could face both ways for both DS when they were small. It is definitely worth it. We got a posh, albeit ancient, one from local papers for 30 pounds.

Sausage - is DH suffering from PMT again?

MrsRecycle · 17/10/2008 23:07

hi ladies - quick post wireless still not fixed so iphoning again. Love the pushchair ros.

Sbs sorry so stressed bet last weekend seems like eternity away now. Lovely to have a couple of drinks on beach with u.

First week back at work was fine - reduced hours really help. They were amazed that I completed one of my tasks in a week my predecessor didn,t do it in 3 months there.

Can't do meet- up sbs it's dh 40th on 8th so lots going on around then.

SJ99 · 18/10/2008 11:21

MrsR - good to hear new job is going well

Ros - pushchair looks fab My friend has a double icandy for her twins and she absolutely loves it.
No rush about email btw!

Won't be long before we put carrycot back on our pushchair then DS will have to go on buggy board or walk.

Sfx - must be a girl thing, I can't go anywhere without gloves in the winter

Just waiting for my friend to come over and we may go to nice pub near Teddington lock for lunch

Another lovely day, enjoy the sunshine all

sfxmum · 18/10/2008 11:31

good morning all

managed to escape for a run as dh is yet again working this weekends
am so running away next Saturday

Ros that is very nice my pliko also had pram facing me but the seat only faces forward

SBS hope work slows down to normal rate

mrsR according to dh it is a wonder how some people get stuff done given that they spend all their time chatting. hurrah for efficiency [wnk]

SJ I miss going for walks by the river from Kingston to Richmond, pre dd we would stop over at Teddington lock for lunch on a very regular basis

slng blessed people who hand over cake

hope you all have a nice day

Hi all, thanks for all your baking hints. I might try the different sizes and stick them together method!!

rosmerta: i've ordered pushchair off ebay and am sooooo looking forweard to it coming, it's pathetic. it's suddenly seeming very real now. panic will start soonish, but not now, am too busy to panic yet

sausage: men is men, i'm afraid. by any chance is chelsea playing - cos that's when I'm lucky to get a grunt.....

Kewcumber · 18/10/2008 15:41

sushi - more sensible house in my road up for sael (just on this week) www.findaproperty.com/displayprop.aspx?edid=00&salerent=0&pid=2755724&agentid=26392 Bigger garden than mine I think as it backs onto the M&S development.

Very nice slng

Well, dh & I are feeling a bit silly tonight. We confused night terrors with possible meningitis , but are feeling a bit relieved it wasn't serious!!

sfxmum · 18/10/2008 23:23

oh bless Ros did you go to A&E?
best safe than sorry
hope all is quiet now

night night

OP posts:
rosmerta · 19/10/2008 08:14

No we didn't get as far as A&E! It was just that he was crying, rolling around and kept turning away from the light when we were trying to see if there was a rash. We put him on our bed & he fell asleep again straight away which is when we twigged that he hadn't really seemed awake!

sfxmum · 19/10/2008 09:03

those night terrors are freaky things.
dd had a recurring straightforward nightmare last night woke up 3x sobbing uncontrollably turns out she had been left with the Wiggles and I had gone away in a boat
poor thing

OP posts:
xoxo · 19/10/2008 11:06

I remember being told a theory that night terrors are worse when the weather turnms from hot to cold, or vice versa. It seems little bodies take a time to adjust (I know I do!). Probably didn't help last night though

We were told to do a lavender bath with steam, massage before bed etc for dd when she went through this, to help with sounder sleep. Probably rubbish, but easy enough to try anyway, and I enjoyed it!
good luck, it's a tough time..

Kewcumber · 19/10/2008 11:31

Kewcumber · 19/10/2008 11:33

(just in case anyone missed it the first few times)

Kewcumber · 19/10/2008 11:34

we did get as far as A&E

Charing Cross 11pm - 3.30am

DS has croup

Magic steriods have sorted him pretty welll and with another dose lunchtime he should be fine.

But very scary and only slept from 4am to about 9am

rosmerta · 19/10/2008 12:51

Oh Kew, poor ds (and you). HOpe he gets better soon.

xoxo, don't know about the weather change but the start of the terrors seem to have coincided with his imagination really kicking in.

sfxmum · 19/10/2008 13:47

KC how awful for you both, maybe it is the time to call in the priest for a blessing or maybe do a ritual sacrifice of some sort

Ros I agree with the imagination thing

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 19/10/2008 14:31

oh no kew ppoor ds at least they gave you steriods my ds has had it twice and said he had to ride it out untreated. It's awful when you hear them struggling to breath isn't? Bet a&e know u on first name turns.
We're on m25 on way homeas I have flu.

SJ99 · 19/10/2008 14:47

Oh no, poor Gherkin, hope he gets better soon. Hope you manange to catch up on some much needed sleep too.

Sorry to hear you have flu MrsR take it easy.

Ros - night terrors are bizarre aren't DS? DS often has them, I do find it's scarier for me then him and he doesn't seem to ahve any recollection of them when he wakes.

Sfx - I miss the walk btw Twix & Richmond and back along the river. Looking forward to expoloring btw Teddington and Kingston when I have more energy

Slng - looks good You just need to buy the pirate outfits now!

Just chilling at home today, my bro is on his way over for a visit, DS will be happy to see his uncle no doubt

slng · 19/10/2008 15:06

Hello all!

Poor Kew and miniKew! Exorcism, ritual sacrifice or consultation with feng shui expert (perhaps the least messy option) in order, I think.

We went swimming this morning - dh + kids on tricycle and me on my bike. We live on top of a hill. Going there was easy. Coming back involves me pushing the bike on foot, huffing and puffing .... I think I need a bit more practice...

xoxo · 19/10/2008 16:32

good luck kew.
slng: what you need is an outboard motor

slng · 19/10/2008 16:53

xoxo - I had to resist getting one of these

Roast dinner nearly ready! I'm starving! It's all that exercise.
