hello bla bla bla

Oh Kew, poor you. Hope you get a break soon.

Ros, sleeping is really average to be honest. Sometimes I clear around 2 hours a night, other nights, max 5 hours. It's just a bit exhausting when I'm literally running after a 3 yr old and a 6 month old all day. But I had the same thing after dd was born. It's a nuisance and I hope it passes soon. It's kind of like a heightened anxiety situation.

Kew - I like Godstone best as there is a really nice gastro-pub in the village!

rosmerta · 29/09/2008 20:32

Sj, no advice on the foxes I'm afraid, but you could try contacting these people, they were listed on a Hounslow Council leaflet

Kewclotter · 29/09/2008 20:34

did I miss something about broad beans? Do you need a rcipe? Don't you just shell them and cook them?

SJ99 · 29/09/2008 20:38

Thanks Ros, will call them if fox still there in the morning.

KC - Slng & I want the recipe for the broad beans starter we had at the restaurant on Fri night, delicious!

stepfordwife · 29/09/2008 20:46

foxes are so other wordly, aren't they?
it's how they stare you out..
and i don't like people/creatures who can out-stare me

SJ99 · 29/09/2008 20:50

Yes it was quite freaky having this fox staring at us just as we finished our dinner. Will now probably have weird dreams about it tonight

rosmerta · 29/09/2008 20:52

sj, if you find that recipe, will you let me know? Would also like to have it!

We regularly have a fox sunbathing in our garden!

stepfordwife · 29/09/2008 20:54

ah but you're pregnant, SJ, it's part of gestation to have weird, wonderful and frankly disturbing dreams!

right, nearly time for my guilty pleasure..america's next top model....makeover show
be still, my beating heart...
actually, i don't feel guilty..
be loud and proud
"my name is steppie and i'm addicted to rubbish TV.".[grin}

stepfordwife · 29/09/2008 20:55

makeover show

SJ99 · 29/09/2008 20:58

Enjoy it Steppie! Might watch Merlin and go to bed. If teh fox doesn't do it then Merlin bound to give me weird dreams

Don't mind the fox being in the garden, just worried it can't get out!

rosmerta · 29/09/2008 21:03

steppie, ANTM, is it the makeover one tonight? I thought that would be in a couple of weeks!! Did see a clip last week, think there's going to be a bit of an upset Tyra in the elimination!

rosmerta · 29/09/2008 21:10

I just reread my last post, oh dear

sfxmum · 29/09/2008 22:13

can't find a thing to watch on telly
book and early night it is

I see foxes around here sometimes too
been listening to foxes too, fleet foxes that is, so very retro so very catchy

night night all

fingers crossed for Lola

can't wuite get used to this free speech business. The chinks of light shone onto my toddlers thought processes are, well, you know...

Car convo today

"turn dine-saur on mummy"
"what dinosaur - we don't have a dinosaur in the car (or anywhere else for that matter)"
"TURN DINE-SAUR ON"
"Ok where will I get a dinosau form"
"Makka-pence" (marks and Spencer)

Obvious really, why didn't I think of it, the obvious source of Dinosaurs

sfxmum · 30/09/2008 09:13

I seem to recall a convo between gherkin and dd when they pretty much decided that all they needed could be found between M&S and mothercare especially the toy shop at the back

KC hope all goes well today

good morning everyone

OP posts:
Kewclotter · 30/09/2008 09:17

had forgotten that sfx! Makes sence really doesn;t it. What more could you need than can be found in M&S and Mothercare.

Its particularly funny as I rarely shopin M&S these days (but have coffee there occasionally) but much much cheaper places mentioning no names)

rosmerta · 30/09/2008 10:37

Kew, that's a slightly better conversation than the one I had with ds in toilets at Kew yesterday:

"Mummy doing a poo"
"No sweetie, mummy's not doing a poo"
"Mummy have poo pants"
"No darling, I don't"

Much to the amusement of the old dears in there as well! I'd heard people have these conversations but you never think it will happen to you!

I feel like rubbish today, ds awake most of the night, I finally get back off to sleep but have woken up with a cough & cold. Am feeling very sorry for myself but also thankful its a nursery morning for ds!

SJ99 · 30/09/2008 10:55

LOL Ros

Sorry you had a crap night, take some rest while DS at nursery.

Yes what is it with kids and M&S? DS also obsessed with the place. Any time I say we're going to the shops now, he always asks are we going to M&S even though I hardly shop there either

No tears when I dropped DS off today, hooray.
Best go and finish off unpacking upstairs, that's my job for this week. It's all the stuff that you don't really need daily and don't really know where to put

Sfx - how was your tutorial?

sfxmum · 30/09/2008 12:25

ros they do feel obliged to keep a running cometary on toilet activities don't they

SJ tutorial very good just need to get on with essay this week

hope those with lack of sleep manage some rest soon.

I've driven 30 miles, given one lecture, baked two loaves of bread, one cake, and fed two children curry. I'm exhausted.

We don't get toilet commentary much, apart from DS2's benign praise "you did it!" with an encouraging expression whenever anyone goes.

Kewclotter · 30/09/2008 20:19

Update chez Kewcumber:

Mother still alive - cancer scan clear for another 6 months. They told her today that she is the sucess story of the Royal Marsden!

Cat still alive - went to visit this evening and cat was so pleased to see me, purred and after a bit did a poo. Charming. The vet clapped, apparently a good sign. However temperature is still up so no positive prognosis. Cat horrified when I let DS come in for a few minutes (having put cat safely behind locked bars? And now I've had to pretend to be a sick cat the rest of the evening for DS to mend me.

I'm still alive - left for hosital appointment at 10.30am and got back at 4.30pm. Good and bad. Platelet count is near bottom end of normal around 130 which is good, blood pressure is up to 160/100 = bad and they think result of the steriods. Not going to reduce steriods yet so an another week of this dose then come down a little bit next week then they test again. Apparently I will be very slowly taken down over 2-3 months. If treated agressively now apparently 60% of people go into remission and never need treatment again so have been told to stop moaning like a minnie about the steriods and take it like a man. Or thats what they meant!

Side effects are really annoying but I guess on balance having plaelets better.

So a good day all in all I think.

sillybigsausage · 30/09/2008 20:41

Hi! [not waving, but drowning in work...]

glug, glug...

sillybigsausage · 30/09/2008 20:53

Hi Kew

Just watched your montage of DS. It is wonderful and I shed a few tears - 'specially for those who are still there.

You have come such a long way together

sfxmum · 30/09/2008 21:21

hi KC good to know your mum is doing well
and Lola keeping fingers crossed

so does it mean you will continue to be an emotional wreck for the foreseeable future?

will go and sleep now I think

OP posts:
SJ99 · 30/09/2008 21:24

That bit made me cry too!

Just a quick post as I've just spoken to Susie. She firstly wanted to say thanks to everyone for their support. Secondly she suspects her DD may have chicken pox so she wanted to warn those DC who have been in contact over the past few weeks that they may too be infected. She hasn't been able to get to docs to confirm if it is pox or just a rash but from looking at spots she thinks it is. Will keep an eye on DS.

Kew - good news about your mum and your cat

Right, off to bed soon, goodnight
