SBS that sounds interesting any jobs going at Junior level?

slng I thought the head at local school was a self important cow with forced smiles, but the school looked good.
don't really care what she thought of me as I am sure my opinion of her is not important

then again that wasn't my best day of this particularly awful week

SBS - glad presentation went well Yep, hormones have defo kicked in this week, the slightest thing sets me off!

DS was absolutely fine again, really buzzing & laughing when I went to get him.

MrsR - was sleeping nappy free ok in the end?

KC - sorry to hear about your cat, you have enough on your plate without the additional worry

rosmerta · 26/09/2008 15:01

sfx, sorry to hear you've had a rubbish week, shame you can't get out tonight

Apparently our street is now part of the Safer Neighbourhood Scheme & a leaflet is encouraging us to dial 999 if there are any rowdy gangs about because they might be on their way to do something illegal

MrsRecycle · 26/09/2008 15:42

Checked on him about 2 - completely dry. Was going to check at 3 and phone went. Tried to distract them but having none of it. Went up after and ds drenched poor thing. But must have just missed him. Nappy next time me thinks.

Slng the nice hm did that to me once before. Dh was fuming and he is marched up school demanding an apology from her and one was given. It does help our neighbour is chair of the governors LOL.
Kew sorry about the cat.
Paddle I'm intrigued by you At the mo.
Sbs so glad you got 8 hours sleep won't need to nudge you tonight.

ComeOVeneer · 26/09/2008 17:52

HI all. Have a fab evening tonight. I really must get my ase into gear and see you all, it has been ages. Had a busy day today, we did a macmillan coffee morning (I made 8 dozen decorated cupcakes for the event which sold at £1.50 a go ). Have a sponsored bounce to run tomorrow at dd's school. DD is at a sleep over birthday party tonight. Just next door, so literally 6 foot from the front door should things go wrong . Am taking her to see Mama Mia with some school freinds and mums on SUnday whilst dh does some male bonding with ds at a 4yr olds birthday party (who has the better deal there then?)

sillybigsausage · 26/09/2008 18:59

Yahaaaay we won our bid, which we presented the proposal for today!!!

rosmerta · 27/09/2008 10:24

Congratulations sausage

Mum & dad are here this weekend, think we're going to go to a farm today, just not sure if Bocketts or Horton Park

Hope everyone else is ok!

slng · 27/09/2008 12:12

Morning all!

Isn't it lovely out?

DH at work. I've just taken the kids to the shops on foot through the park, and a 20-minute round trips took 1 hour and 15 minutes!!

ComeOVeneer · 27/09/2008 12:19

Morning all, actually afternoon . Well it was really foggy here this morning but that has burnt off to lovely sunshine, perfect for the sponsored bounce and bbq later. DD had a party yesterday that was a sleep over, she will be back at 1pm. DS didn't wake until gone 9am so we had a lie in YAY! Hope everyone enjoys the lovely weather. Catch you later.

SJ99 · 27/09/2008 13:21

Lovely sunshine, may ditch plans to sort out nursery and head to Kew later.

DS declared there was an owl in the garden this morning, I asked him where and he pointed to a tiny little robin

sillybigsausage · 27/09/2008 13:50

that's cute SJ!!

I slept really badly agin and feel like complete shite today

Might try and snooze this arvo and just be liberal about TV/PC watchng for the kids

SJ99 · 27/09/2008 15:38

Might not make it to Kew after all, just woken from a really long nap and DS still snoozing, we obviously needed it.

Hope you get some rest SBS, nothing like a few zzzz'z to feel a bit better

sfxmum · 27/09/2008 16:13

Sausage, sorry you didn't sleep again, I say definitely go with the tv afternoon!

We went to Horton Park Children's Farm today, really lovely place with lots of playgrounds/picnic benches as well as the animals. Think I should've skipped the tractor ride though!

ComeOVeneer · 27/09/2008 20:15

OMG, I am sooooooo tired. Sponsored bounce/bbq/bar/ice-cream was a huge sucess. Think we have raised about £1500. Went to the local pub afterwards for dinner and just got back. Children asleep already and tbh I will be soon too. DD and I are off to watch Mamma Mia with some friends tomorrow at the cinema.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying a lovely weekend.

rosmerta · 28/09/2008 17:26

It's quiet today, guess everyone's enjoying the sunshine!

We went to the park this morning, ended up leaving after a very charming pair of brothers turned up

Kewclotter · 28/09/2008 20:16

Hada mixed day lovely at KEw wehre we were all day and bumped into quite a few people we knew which was nice including DS's stablemate who has just left pur CM. HIs very worreid grandmother came scrrrying over when I spoke to him I think she thought I was trying to abduct him. I was just a bit startled becasue I asked him where his mummy was and he said "Out shopping"! of course I hadn't realised his granma was there...

In the midst of the madness of C&C I was trying to deal with updates form the vet about poor Lola one of our cats who is very sick indeed and has had to be operated on today and may not survive the next few days. She has had most of her small intestine removed after it seems eating dental floss which has wound around it and shredded it. Presumably whislt I was in hospital. Next 24-72 hours are critical - such a big op for such a tiny cat. I have been ridiculously emotiobal about it - partly no doubt because the steriods cause mood swings but also becuase I got the cats for my birthday when my final IVF attmept field and my mum was diagnosed with "termnal" cancer (on the same day!) Somehow theres a wealth of symbolism bound up in that tiny cat.

Having DS getting anxious about "where Lola?" doesn't help - poor mite, he must be wondering whats in the water in our house.

OKm way too much sharing and sentimentality about my cat when there have been funerals of real people in our posse this week

Kewclotter · 28/09/2008 20:18

field = failed of course - no IVF field I am aware of. (OR I would have been camping there)

sfxmum · 28/09/2008 20:24

poor Lola hope she makes it

cov well done on fundraiser no wonder you were tired still great weather for it

ros shame about disruptive kids

migraine last night slept late went running then had some quiet time but migraine flared up again, think will go to bed soon

hope everyone is ok

Oh Kew, so sorry things are hard going for you atm. Are you stillof work next week? Perhaps I can pop over at somepoint if so and bring the slow cooker and a few treats? Are you still not allowedchocolate? Hope you cat makes afull recovery. Ours are very much a part of our family and we only got them originally because my nurse couldn't find homes for them.

sillybigsausage · 28/09/2008 21:53

Kew sorry to hear about Lola I hope she pulls through

Could help LOL at the "camping in IVF field" though!

Ros what were the charming brothers up to ?

Kewclotter · 28/09/2008 22:53

Cov I'm working Monday but hospital appt Tuesday (need to leave at 10.30am) otherwise I;m hoping to be back in work Weds/Thursday. I;m slightly tempted by the goodies offer but fear it won't be practical along with living a life of your own too! Thugh obviously could drop off the slow cooker at the same time

On a slightly more positive note...

MrsRecycle · 29/09/2008 08:41

oh kew so sorry to hear about Lola I really was hoping it wasn't so serious. I will have a look at that link when I'm back home next week as pictures aren't best viewed on the iPhone.

Had a lovely time at rare breed centre dds were so xxited they got to take part in the pig race although they came last.

Some really good news I do a syndicate for dhand 2 of his colleagues on the lottery and they got 5 numbers on Saturday. Hope their pa gets a cut

rosmerta · 29/09/2008 08:42

Kew, sorry to hear about your cat , hope she pulls through

Sausage, generally lots of swearing at top of voice, older brother telling younger one to f off & that he was a c. Tbh, I think everyone was more annoyed at the dad who was sat at the cafe outside the playground, reading the paper & ignoring what was going on . I know I shouldn't be all judgey but its hard sometimes!

Cov, glad your fundraiser went well!

Looks like another lovely day! Not sure what we'll do yet.

SushiMummy · 29/09/2008 10:00

Morning all.

QC - hope Lola pulls through. Poor cat. How are you?

Got back from sunny Bury (ILs) yesterday and we had a lovely time there. DS is now addicted to jellybeans/cakes/all other sugary products thanks to ILs, tho.Sorry no time to read all the posts, hope everyone is well.
