Ros - am driving but will park at SBS's office. Not easy for me to get to on public transport, plus I'm not drinking so might as well drive!

SBS - sending you sleep vibes, good luck for your presentation tomorrow

BTW I just saw an advert for Ugly Betty - has new series already started? (Can't believe I didn't notice ) What have I missed so far?

bunyanvillas · 25/09/2008 18:57

Sausage, thanks for earlier, good to see you and your lovely ds plus Oxo and Kew, who is looking so healthy and well!! Good luck for your presentation tomorrow, I hope you manage to get some decent shut-eye. Have emailed details of garden clearance chap.

Glad to hear that the slo-cooker situation has been amicably sorted out

May see you all tomorrow night, will wait and see what tonight heralds ...

xoxo · 25/09/2008 18:58

lovely to see you guys too today, sausage. you must explain name change.

SFX: I haven't got yr address yet for tomorrow; can you get it to me so I can offer lift?

Sausage & Paddle have my mobile numbers if that is quicker (am cautious about putting my mobile number on line!)

slng · 25/09/2008 20:39

Ros - I think parking is free on Mattock Lane after 6 or something. That's just behind the restaurant. I'm popping over to Ealing tomorrow morning so will have a look.

mellow2 · 25/09/2008 20:48

Evening everyone,

This pre school malarkey is keeping me busy.

Oxo - Would you still like the booster seat back?

Sausage - Good luck with the presentation.

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2008 08:11

morning all, been up most of the night with dd coughing.

am exhausted and feel like crap. dd still sleeping now but will have to wake her soon for pre-school i guess.

am under so much pressure at the mo

rosmerta · 26/09/2008 09:15

Sausage, good luck with the presentation, I'll text you later

Slng, do you still want a lift?

Paddle, sorry dd isn't well, ds was coughing as well last night.

slng · 26/09/2008 09:55

Ros - yes please! Have you got my address?

DS1 bumped his head on the way to school. He's decided to stay in school, but I'm a bit worried ...

Also had a run in with the head teacher. I don't think we are going to be friends. How dare she make a judgement based on a glimpse of my child who has just bumped his head and was feeling sorry for himself, like a normal human being! I really shouldn't get angry about amateur psychologists (or even professional ones - did anyone see that psychologist they wheel out for documentaries on Channel five? Linda something-or-other. She was on Channel 4 last night with Ann Widdecombe ).

slng · 26/09/2008 09:56

Feel a bit better now. Was going into a I-hate-everybody-and-everything mood ...

rosmerta · 26/09/2008 10:05

Slng, poor ds, am sure he will be fine. I haven't got your address but I've just sent you a message through MN.

slng · 26/09/2008 10:29

Ros - I've sent you a message too! But I haven't got your message yet.

SJ99 · 26/09/2008 11:29

Morning everyone

Slng - hope bump wasn't too nasty, pity about insensitive teacher too.

Paddle - sorry to hear DD awake and coughing, hope you get some rest at some point today

I seemed to be awake from 1-5am again. Baby wakes me up with wriggling/kicking/punching, a few toilet trips later and I can't seem to get back to sleep for ages. Oh well to be expected in final stages of pregnancy.

DS cried again when I dropped him off at preschool, he did that on Tues too for 1st time (and I cried all the way home ) but the staff say he is fine after I leave. He is full of smiles when I pick him up.

rosmerta · 26/09/2008 11:33

Sj, ds does exactly the same, clings on to me but is absolutely fine once I've gone (I've stayed a couple of times & peeked!)

Slng, haven't got your message either!

SJ99 · 26/09/2008 11:39

Thanks Ros - they said now the novelty is starting to wear off, he doesn't like to see me go but a lot of the kids go through this stage, hopefully it will get easier

slng · 26/09/2008 12:01

Oh dear Ros. How about FB then? Will do that in a bit. Must dash!

sfxmum · 26/09/2008 12:19

hello all

SBS hope presentation goes well

slng - hope ds is well, children do bump their heads with alarming frequency

bunyan hope you all get some sleep

SJ dd has cried a couple of times and sometimes hangs near our legs, they have to show their emotions somehow but I think it is about helping them through this phase and gain confidence, I think it helps to talk through it later in positive terms acknowledging their feelings helps them name them and deal with them

dh had to drop dd at nursery on Wednesday and texted me saying how awful and odd it was leaving her behind despite absence of tears. he then promptly got the pick up time wrong and left her there for extra half hr for dh time being relative has a whole other meaning

hope everyone is ok, have fun tonight

oh bloody hell - think one of my cats is sick. looking very poorly sitting in the garden. Trying to get DS to sleep for an hour as although he isn't sleeping too badly at night he is just manic and exhausted the while time which I am finding trying as the steriods cause bloody insomnia. Misery loves company doesn't it seems quite a few of us aren;t sleeping properly at the moment.

I adore my cat but am I very very bad for thinking "dear lord I really can't deal with this as well now"?

MrsRecycle · 26/09/2008 13:36

afternoon all.

paddle - sorry to hear about dd and your lack of sleep. Hope you manage to catch up on it tomorrow. Poor you re the pressure - am away next week but, if you need some respite help the week after, I can pop over.

sj - I remember the lack of sleep stage well - IMO its nature's way of preparing you for the sleepless nights (but not a nice way is it). Sorry to hear about ds and your tears - LOs are very good a pulling on our emotional apron strings aren't they?

SBS - did you get a good nights sleep last night? Hope presentation went well.

slng - hope ds1' head has recovered from his fall. At least the head teacher knows who you are now! Mine still doesn't know me, after 3 years at the school.

Talking of Head's sent him a letter informing him that we will not be able to go to school next week due to various Open Days at dd1's new high schools. Did I receive a reply/acknowledgement - did I heck? He is the rudest man you could ever meet (and I told Ofsted this in the parent survey!) - a bit of manners wouldn't go amiss.

Looking forward to tonight - sorry you can't make it sfx, would have been nice to catch up with you.

oxo - I'll bring those baby bits for you - will try and dig out the sheets once ds has woken up. Oh sh*t, I've just remembered I put him to sleep without a nappy on. He's been doing so well with the potty, I completely forgot.

Must dash - have a front room & car to clean..

sillybigsausage · 26/09/2008 14:03

MrsR - hope DS didn't form a puddle in his sleep!!

Well I got eight hours sleep last night so feel `10 yrs younger than I did yesterday!

Presentation went fine.

Work is quite excitiong ATM - we have a new business director at my company taking an interest in our work and how we can sell it externally We also have a cabinet member at a local authority taking a keen interest too, who wants to come and view the services my team deliver. We have had lots of council members visiting us and have made presentations to high level council meetings the last two weeks, which has been fun. Plus this bid we presented on this morning, which will be an exciting pilot - not much money but politivally very important to our profile

SJ - It was probably those mummy hormones which made you weep. I'm sure DS forgot you within 30 seconds of you leaving his sight line LOL!! DS2 tried that trick on me when I deliver him to the CM. All she has to do is open her fridge after I leave and he instantly forgets I ever existed!

Slng - oooh what did teacher say? [nosey emoticon]. Are you coming out to play later? We could swap horror stories about witches teachers

Paddle - [hugs]

slng · 26/09/2008 14:04

MrsR - so she knows me now as the heartless mother who is in denial about her son's unhappiness in school. And I know her now as somebody who jumps to conclusions, who is unprofessional enough to cast aspersions on my parenting skills in front of everybody and my children. This is not a good start.
