Paddle sorry about the van. Perhaps it is because the absolute perfect one for you is just around the corner (silver lining and all that?) It happened when we had to pull out of buying a house because the owner wanted an extra £50,000 . W =e though our entire chain was going to fold then we found this house which was 1/4 as big again, with a huge playroom and have made loads of freinds here and are really settled.

Had a horrible run in with a receptionist at our surgery just now, totally rude and miseravble man. I think I shall be wwritting a letter of complaint. Sad because they are all (apart from him) lovely and very helpful/accomodating.

Basically I went in to collect some test results and referal letter for dh (who had spoken to doctor saying I would pick them up for him). He finds the results but not the letter, checks computer and reads out the letter and tells me it has been posted. I say "oh dh told me I needed to pick it up". He then says he can print a copy off but it won't be signed. I say "great". He then pauses, looks up at me and says "you can take it", "but you just said you would print one off for me"

He sighs , rolls his eyes and says "oh you are going to be awkward now are you?" WTF. I say "excuse me???" Then proceeds to be unpleasant ansd quite frankly rude telling me to "get of his back" etc (I maintained my cool). I was astounded. ANyway I will be making a complaint.

mellow2 · 24/09/2008 16:27

bloody steriods give you insomnia

ah well

ust found out that CM is funding a new playgroup in Chiswick from early Nov - sounds nice with bouncy castle and ball pit type stuff but also chill out room with cushions and books. Tennis club in Burlington Ave I gather.

DS seemed to settle well at CM today (stayed a bit longer than normal) so I'm off to have coffee with sausage and then shopping for shoes with my mum without DS - what luxury!

slng · 25/09/2008 10:16

Kew - (Not at steroids or insomnia, at
shopping with mum.)

Kewclotter · 25/09/2008 10:35

can't remember the last tiem I went shopping properly. We may even have lunch out

slng · 25/09/2008 10:54

Envy Envy Envy

rosmerta · 25/09/2008 12:14

Kew, what's happening with the slow cookers?! Slng, if I am taking yours I could come & pick it up this weekend if you want it out of the way?

MrsRecycle · 25/09/2008 12:34

afternoon ladies. Some good news ds seems to have cracked this potty training malarky..putting it in front of cbeebies seems to have done the job.
Sorry to hear about insomia kew at least it's not the other effect eh or I'm not sitting anywhere near you tomorrow . Enjoy the shopping. I treated myself last sat in Hastings nothing like retail therapy is there.
Right off to put ds down for his 4hr nap.

xoxo · 25/09/2008 14:06

Ladies, I am very nearly ready for D day. Only a few bits and pieces left. Would you mind if I listed the stuff I still need so you can root in your cupboards to see if you want to sell it?

I need:
baby monitors (pref the ones with temperature readings as babs will be in the attic with us, which is tempermental in the temp front)
breast pump : electrical please. I'm lacking in the patience department and want to get the Unigate/ Mooing experience over quickly when I do it.
Fitted sheets for moses baskets and cot.
Pram - although in laws are keen to buy a 'piece' for baby, and thsi might be their thing!
a nanny
a cook
a cleaner
a gardener
a nursemaid
more patience
a good nights sleep

etc etc

I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys on Friday. I'm craming in a social life before life as I know it ends.

SJ99 · 25/09/2008 14:10

Sorry Xoxo don'tahve any of teh spare eqpt you need but am also looking fwd to tom night, IKWYM about social life

MrsR - 4hr nap don't think DS has ever had one of those! Well done on potty training front

Went to open day for nursery school today, was v.impressed. The tour was given by Yr2 children! Have done the registration form so just wait til March now to see if DS gets a place.

Enjoy your shopping spree KC

ComeOVeneer · 25/09/2008 14:40

I think I have monitors lurking around somewhere, will have a search later.

slng · 25/09/2008 14:50
