hello

only been to shops and post box far too freaked out for anything else

guess 1st day at nursery followed by 2nd day on thu puts the end to our plans for evening out
am being selfish and conflicted am I not?

was looking forward to dinner and movie with dh but guess dd might need extra reassurance

Hello Ros, how are you finding the new thread so far? All actually - dare I say it - going reasonably well here and we have ditched the dummy, hurrah! Have had a couple of dodgy bedtimes but nights have been so much better, when ds wakes up he settles himself back to sleep rather than "asking" me to just pop out of bed and reinsert the dummy! So, I don't know if I need to borrow your book or not, what do you reckon? He is more or less sleeping 7-7 now. Did you enjoy your weekend away? Sorry to hear about leaks, how terribly annoying.

Does anyone know where the nearest Thomas train ride is to London - would it be Hampshire?

SFX - high maintenance? Moi? huffs off into a corner

I think you should go for the movie and dinner, if you're relaxed then DD will pick up on your happy vibes. No point in staying in stressing. I'm sure DD will enjoy preschool

Bunyan - great news about DS settling himself without dummy, well done
If you go on Thomas website there is a map of all TTE lines and dates

Sfx- Yes I'm at Kingston and have been having my appointments there

BTW anyone free on thurs am? Want to come over for play/tea/bics/housewarming?

she will be super excited that her cousin is sleeping over which might mean later bedtime, we should be home only after 11pm

KC - I did ask about that (!) but they said that's the one thing I can't do, whatever decision I choose I have to go with it 100% (unless of course I naturally go into labour prior to c-s date but even then they'll have me on standby for c-s if it all goes pears)

But the good thing is I don't have to say for another 4-6wks, by then they'll have a better idea of baby's size and position which I'm sure will help me make my decision. Will just muse over it for now

I had my DD as Kingston. I also worked in maternity for a few years, plus of course NNU. For a lot of the time I was in maternity, I was in obstetric theaters.

If you have any questions about it, I might be able to help

Thanks Ros. DS was exactly the same such a wriggle monster and was constantly changing position right up until the end. I was even booked for ECV but DS had turned himself by the time appointment came. I've a feeling this one is just like it's big bro, causing trouble already

Have just canceled standing order for DS1's fees for the nursery. Last week this week. He kept asking "Is this my last day?" last week ... School next Wednesday!

sfx - baked a courgette cake last week. Very nice. Veg box came today - MORE COURGETTES.
Don't remind me about marking students' work. We've got LOTS of that coming next week ... It's the time of the year when you will find our house spotless because ANYTHING is better than marking.

speaking of schools have contacted the preferred choice to register interest, apparently application forms are sent out in November to be submitted by January

I though it would go through the borough with a list of preferences and then you get an allocated place isn't it like that?

this is all very confusing

slng courgettes are very useful and versatile sort of an all purpose vegetable

I am certain dd is bored and wished she could be doing more today but I am a quite tired today and not up to much although in excellent spirits

I think you go through council unless its a church school in which case I think the school has to accept you before you apply via council (IIRC), I'm pretty sure when I looked into it you just did council application with your choices and pretty much allocated based on distance/siblings.

SFX does that mean DD will be the year above DS? That seems right to me as your DD is way readier to start school than DS who still seems such a baby compared to many of his contemporaries - or is it just that bioys seem so much more immature than girls at this (and every?) age.

SJ - Well done to mini sj. My friend was booked into CS because baby was late and she cancelled on them. Twice! I'm sure you're well within your rights to cancel if you wanted to even if you're booked in.

Sfx -Are you applying for reception? [clueless here] I'm sure dd will be fine at nursery.

KC your son is younger than my dd so I guess that would be so. they go to reception on the school year they are 5, dd's birthday is June so she goes in Sep 09 just like mini steppie
