SFX good luck for your mini-sfx's 1st day at nursery! (she'll be fine - don't worry)

re the schools, you need to send your application to the council if its a state school - you can then track it on the council website to ensure they get it - think we did ours online so it wouldn't get lost in post. If its a church school, you send 2 applications at the same time - one to school and one to council.

Re the free hours a nursery - they will tell you when she becomes eligable and should sort it all out for you. You just have to fill in a "timesheet" at the beginning of each term, confirming her sessions, which they will give to you (the sheet that is).

SJ it might be easier for you to elect for a VBAC then change yor mind at the last minute, rather than the other way round, IYKWIM. Hospitals do love to enforce their controlling little rules don't they? Did you start a thread about it?

rosmerta · 27/08/2008 10:36

ds seems convinced he wants to stay in his pjs today. Normally I wouldn't mind but I've got loads to do outside the house!

SushiMummy · 27/08/2008 11:09

sfx - good luck with the nursery. DS starts pre-school next week so at least DD will know someone there.

QC - there's a house on your street up for sale.

Kewcumber · 27/08/2008 11:09

yes I think its a bigger than average one so is up for a little more than normal I think - though it doesn;t look much bigger. Are you going to look at it?

SushiMummy · 27/08/2008 11:23

QC - Well, we probably can't afford it but it's 6 bedrooms and seems good value.

Kewcumber · 27/08/2008 11:27

if its the one I'm thinking of it really doesn;t look any bigger than the others though... very odd.

SushiMummy · 27/08/2008 11:41

It says slightly larger design than neibouring properties. Do you think it's in the catchment of Kew Primary?

Kewcumber · 27/08/2008 11:46

It'll certianly be clsoe but I don;t think its a guarantee - I think it depends how many children they have in the Riverside houses/flats in any particular year.

SushiMummy · 27/08/2008 11:50

You're right. The catchment is shrinking every year tho, isn't it?

sfxmum · 27/08/2008 12:53

hello we are back

SBS thanks for info

it went well at the nursery she just walked in and asked for drawing materials, it seemed pretty normal a little disagreement here the start of a drama there and she was most put out when we left just as the children were sitting down for lunch
tomorrow I will leave her alone for a while am sure she will be fine

now I must rest
anyone around for Friday?
I change my plans and will be going out tomorrow night instead

many thanks for the good wishes

PaddlePig · 27/08/2008 13:00

I am de-cluttering and have found some unisex Clark's size 4.5 wellies.

Who wants?

slng · 27/08/2008 13:48

Well done sfx and mini-sfx!

We are getting ready for big school next Wednesday. But before that, cakes and cookies for nursery staff and children, and hopefully outings on Monday and Tuesday before our freedom ends ...

SushiMummy · 27/08/2008 13:49

sfx - glad it went well for both of you.

Paddle - thanks for offer, my DS is coming up to size 8 now.

PaddlePig · 27/08/2008 13:52

oops sorry am on a roll with organising and clearing out so just popped on to re-home wellies!

sfx, congrats on a good session. they're amazing really aren't they with their confidence and ability to join in etc.

sfxmum · 27/08/2008 13:57

sfxmum · 27/08/2008 13:58

Kewcumber · 27/08/2008 14:00

sushi - got any nice size 7's DS needs some for the winter! Bet your 7's are all summer shoes [sulk]

Kewcumber · 27/08/2008 14:02

The questions have started....

HV asked at last appt - has he started asking questions yet (oh foolish woman I had no idea what she meant)

Yesterday (with my mum) "where my mum? Where my mum?Where my mum? etc etc
Last night with me "where my nanny?where my nanny? Where my bed! (WTF!) Where my nanny?" repeat until your eyeballs start to bleed.

slng · 27/08/2008 14:14

KC - Didn't know that's something you look out for. "Where" is easy. "Why" and "how" are a bit more challenging.

sfxmum · 27/08/2008 14:17

speaking of HV's in the nursery forms they has questions about HV support would it be ok to discuss my child development with them?

no not really

sillybigsausage · 27/08/2008 14:18

Paddle- we got some lovely wellies from sfx but thanks for the offer

sfx - glad you both had a good morning with the nursry

PaddlePig · 27/08/2008 14:20

sfxmum · 27/08/2008 14:20

Kewcumber · 27/08/2008 14:22

BAsed on his use of "where" I'm dreading "why"

Kewcumber · 27/08/2008 14:26

hey Paddle reply to my email - I need the name of your broker...
