paddle what bliss

sillybigsausage · 06/08/2008 17:32

SFX I'm surpised that your DD hasn't heard of the credit crunch?

She must've been doing too much slobbing and procrastinating recently...

Bunyan - thanx for your e-mail in response to mine the other day - made me laugh!!

Paddle _ I bough a portable DVD player from Ebay which was wonedrful. I was totally in love and carried it all around the house with me but I seem to have lost it in my messy house now

Well missions accomplished today:

1 saw the loverly Tif my fave dentist
2 got children jabbed (neither made a squeak!!!)
3 got them McD'd as well (DS2 enoyed his first chicken nuggets)

MrsR - we just got our Sun letter - we're going to Camber for the first weekend in Sept!! (our 2nd date choice and 1st destination choice)

MrsRecycle · 06/08/2008 18:04

Congrats SillyS

stepfordwife · 06/08/2008 19:09

evening all

SJ...ooohh yes please about borrowing some packing boxes if you don't mind. will get dh to pick them up some time at a convenient time to yourself. he's got some to pick up from twickenham so will be in your (new) neck of the woods. thankyou muchly.
enjoy your bath

sausage - well done on the jabs. this sepvax thing is a bloody long haul, isn't it? ahh , i thought your brace was cool.

kew..of course i knew you couldn't have passed a gallstone. doh!
dh is still waiting for nature to take its course...

bunyan..sorry about your DB, but hope you enjoy your trip home. be lovely to meet you some time....you do exist, don't you?

paddle..go for the pizza...always go for the pizza..

(semi) scrubbed up and (half) engaged brain for a meeting this arvo. must say a sweaty stint on the tube diluted my soho office envy.

stepfordwife · 06/08/2008 19:12

sfx...
got a wonderful image of your dd giving the usual hairdresser chit-chat short shrift..."never mind where i'm going on holiday, let's talk about the senses...."

as for wall. E...fab but rather sophisticated for kids, i thought. well, went over my head sometimes..

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 19:21

Paddle - you need this

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 19:24

Steppie - just let me know how many boxes you need as will need DH to get them down from loft. (The ones that aren't in the loft are still unpacked ) They are mostly medium size. Can pick up anytime, we're around most days

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 19:25

sorry, 'still packed'

sillybigsausage · 06/08/2008 19:39

MrsR - you won't be in Camber that weekend will you?

ComeOVeneer · 06/08/2008 21:12

Hi all, bad day here. DS woe up with a raging temp. Have managed to keep it under control with calpol given regularly, but he has been miserable all day, so we were stuc indoors all day, which made dd miserable too. Spent most of the day playing board games etc and watching tv. Hopefully he will be better tomorrow so we can get out before we all go mad.

sillybigsausage · 06/08/2008 21:17

(((hugs))) to your DS CoV

sfxmum · 06/08/2008 21:31

cov poor ds hope he feels better soon

steppie the hairdresser is the one sl
sillyS recommended in Richmond we had just walked past

does anyone know if lollipop is open? might take dd there after hairdresser since it is supposed to be pouring down tomorrow
would anyone like to join us?

sillybigsausage · 06/08/2008 21:44

SFX is it the hairdresser near the roundabout?

sfxmum · 06/08/2008 21:50

yes that is the one

rosmerta · 07/08/2008 08:10

sfx, I don't know if lollipop is open. There's nothing on their website.

Think we'll go to the toy library this morning

MrsRecycle · 07/08/2008 08:51

COV sorry to hear about ds, hope he feels better soon.

SillyS - we are there most weekends so will be there that weekend (especially if you're going to be there as well!).

stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 09:44

morning all,

ah, sfx, trust you're having the lovely aussie girl to cut dd's hair?
she's fab. ds1 always insists on quizzing her about her boyfriends which leads to tres amusing two-level conversations!

COV, sorry ds not been well. hope he's better today.

SJ - thanks a million. will confer with dh and work out how many boxes we need.

Mrs.R - sorry, meant to say, thanks for your offer, too. will you be at camber for most of the summer hols? lovely.
sorry to be a pain, but could you also email me details (yet) again when you get a minute.- got a feeling may have to book a weekend (or two) over sep and oct to escape the building site!

oh god, better tidy up for the cleaner, i suppose..
silly sausage - saw your cleaner yesterday and gave her a big smile and cheery hello. she obviously had no idea who i was
toodlepip

sfxmum · 07/08/2008 09:53

good morning all

matchsticks on eyes here dd took ages going to sleep and woke up 5 times during the night then was all cheery jumping on the bed to wake me up at 7.30 NO dh helped diver her but not very successfully
the this morning she told me dh had already given her breakfast, apparently a lie

haircut with aussie gal she seemed nice steppie

cov how is your boy?

ros thanks I saw some stuff going on outside yesterday but seemed like some sort of summer club, we will see

paddle I expect you are still in bed

rosmerta · 07/08/2008 10:11

sfx, let me know if it is open, I only know of one place open during the holidays apart from S&L which I avoid like the plague!

Cov, hope ds is feeling better today

MrsR, thanks for emailing but think we'll have to give it a miss this year. It was a choice between the caravan & decorating, guess which won

sfxmum · 07/08/2008 10:24

ros I called lollipop and they will be open today and tomorrow but then close for 3 weeks, she said open till 5 today but might close at 4 if too quiet.

ComeOVeneer · 07/08/2008 11:21

Morning all. Ds seems loads better today, still slightly warm and a runny nose but otherwise fine. Have just ordered my first set of business cards . I have a christening to do 6 days after we get back from holiday, then the folowing Friday I am doing an African themed 2 tier cake plus 150 matching cup cakes (think masks/sheilds/animal prints etc) for a charity event dh's cousin is organising for charity she helps with over in SA (event being held in London), so I will be eriously busy and children will be neglected until they get back to school/nursery.

Hope everyone is well. Have we made any plans for Monday? If it is Kew (weather permitting) could I be cheeky and see if anyone has a pass I could have as I have let my membership lapse.

Kewcumber · 07/08/2008 11:25

Cov you're welcome to one of my passes but unless you can get to Blackfriars not much use. Pick some up another time as I hardly use them.

Paddlechick666 · 07/08/2008 11:44

kew, COV is talking about Monday which I think was your suggestion LOL!

I'm all out of Kew passes despite managing to garner 12 this year instead of 6.

sfx, still in bed!! fat chance, as usual my sleep was much broken and I was awake well before 7am. I really have no idea why I wake constantly thru the night.

I did have a pleasant evening tho both bath and pizza were very nice. ASBO boy kicked off about 9ish and I childishly but gleefully retaliated by the following:

Jumped off my bed a few times.
Slammed windows in DD's room shut a few times.
Slammed front door really hard once.
Jogged around flat as heavily as possible several times.
Put TV on full blast for a couple of minutes.

Then had a heart attack when the front door knocked, luckily was only pizza arriving.

Their noise had finished by 10pm tbh. That's part of the problem, it never actually lasts more than a few hours at most but it's highly irritating.

Went to bed about 10:30pm but slammed a few more doors and thumped around a bit more first. Just to let them know how bloody quiet it normally is once dd is in bed when I creep around like a mouse and make hardly any noise.

Having drinks with friends tonight, might drag them home for an ABBA fest LOL.

Paddlechick666 · 07/08/2008 12:06

OI! KEW!!! Are we lunching or what?

rosmerta · 07/08/2008 12:08

Paddle, don't blame you for retaliating! Doubt if it'll get through to them though but am sure it made you feel better!

Monday, I'm up for a picnic provided weather is nice. Don't have any passes though as we went for cheapo membership this year!

Sfx, thanks for letting me know, might pop along this afternoon, depends on ds. It took me an hour to get him dressed & out of the door today!

On the plus side, he hasn't been in a nappy today & no accidents!
