OP posts:
rosmerta · 06/08/2008 08:55

morning all, another miserable day! Must get out of the house today though, probably go do some puddle jumping!

MrsRecycle · 06/08/2008 09:00

bunyan - sorry to hear about db but hope your trip to Ireland gives you a well deserved break from LOs.

Ros/bunyan - Caravan is free in September, so let me know dates. I'm away from Friday, returning around 3rd September so we can sort it all out then.

sj - glad move went well and ds is settled, you deserve to put your feet up and take it easy now. I always feel the same way with dh when he works late and all weekend yet his colleagues seem to be home at 2pm every day. It is all unfair sometimes isn't it?

sillysausage - lovely chatting to you last night. Will email directions to you.

Another day of decluttering the MrsR house, good job its raining...

bunyanvillas · 06/08/2008 09:13

Morning, All! Plans have changed here so we are going to brave Kew for a couple of hours this morning. Just in case anyone fancies hooking up. Short notice, I realise! Looks a wee bit chilly out there. Mrs R, have no particular dates for Sept - just really fancy some sort of a break. If you have details/prices, that would be great (sorry, I realise that you have emailed these details before but goodness knows where I have stored 'em!).

rosmerta · 06/08/2008 09:19

MrsR, same here, just need prices to work out if we can do it or not!

Paddlechick666 · 06/08/2008 09:20

morning all

steppie, sympathy for DH. must be very painful.

i'm feeling a little bit better altho still sleeping very badly. mind you, half a tub of B&J's last night probably didn't help

sj, glad you're moved in and settled. bummer about the Bristol thing. hope that gets sorted soon.

dd is a kew this morning for a CM picnic so say hello if you see her. DM is collecting her and taking her home for a couple of days.

i have absolutely no energy or inclination to drag myself out and socialise tho

blardy hope this weather improves by 16th eh!

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 09:34

Morning all

Paddle - sorry you're not feeling the best and neighbours still causing trouble for you. I can imagine you're really fed up with it all, much sympathy
DD looks v.cute in her big bed though

2Cute - sorry to hear your relatives are being so obstructive, this is the last thing you need . Sounds like you've got lots of good advice from the others, I really hope you find a way through this. Am here if you need any support

Steppie - have loads of boxes if you still need some give me a shout! Hope your DH is feeling a bit better after his painful ordeal

Bunyan - what happened to your trip??

Sfx - hope you manage to sort out your hols

sfxmum · 06/08/2008 09:42

good morning all

this might be the day we actually go out swimming, who knows? dd is very energetic but I could do with extra sleep and quiet not a great combination

paddle enjoy the break do whatever you can to just chill

MrsRecycle · 06/08/2008 09:51

bunyan/ros have emailed you.

sillybigsausage · 06/08/2008 10:36

Hi everyone

SJ sorry I missed your post earlier - so the big move is over then? Glad it all went OK.

Can your DH get out of his employers how much longer this ristol business is going to last?

Wish me luck with the jabs everyone - I reckon DS2 will make more fuss than DD (being a male...).

Am bracing myself for a Hullabaloo!

..and talking of braces - mine i coming out today - yippee!!

rosmerta · 06/08/2008 12:48

thanks MrsR, I'll let you know

Went to Ealing this morning to get a portable potty, came home with that and a scooter . Guess I'm not doing much else this month!

bunyanvillas · 06/08/2008 13:23

~Hi Ros, so are you starting the 'ole potty training? I didn't find it too bad. At least it is summertime so hopefully slightly less stressful! Mrs R - thanks, will check my mail. SJ, heading home this weekend for a couple of nights but any other holidays are most probably out the window, not only am I constantly jiggling ds up and down on my knee but also doing some rather tedious financial "jiggling" ! We will see. Am v tempted by the caravan at Camber, such a great beach, Rye is lovely etc ... we had an ace time at Kew this morning (PC, didn't see your dd - loving the big girls' bed pic - bumped in to a friend and her dcs so spent a bonus couple of hours picnicking and chatting But that's all the fun over now as we're off to Tesco this afternoon!

bunyanvillas · 06/08/2008 13:24

Oh and silly sausage (great name lol ) - good luck with the jabs - never fun ...

rosmerta · 06/08/2008 13:24

hi bunyan, yep we've started at home & that's going very well atm. Just need to get him used to the idea of underpants & using it when we're out!

Paddlechick666 · 06/08/2008 13:37

afternoon all, well i am officially child free till Saturday and it feels weird!

hope the jabs go okay SBS. dd didn't flinch but still talks about the "stinger" medicine!

just downloaded FB for iPhone so will be bunging loads of random mobile phone pics up I expect LOL.

ros, it took dd a very short while to get the the "i've got clothes on but not a nappy" thing. had a couple of accidents but that's been about it. now i lug the potty around and it barely gets used. which is a good thing really.

i am very with an item off ebay. i bought a portable dvd player which wouldn't play half of dd's dvds. sent it back as requested (last Weds) and got the replacement today. so now it plays the dvds but only on half the screen

i have emailed the guy but no response yet.

also, most of my emails are going astray as well.

huff!

Paddlechick666 · 06/08/2008 15:01

sfx, check out the Parenting section.

there's a thread on Unconditional Parenting saying how fantastic it and the book are. and there's another one saying it's a load of twaddle.

btw, link to your Ponce thread please

mrsR, thanks for call earlier. sorry about tomorrow eve. have you found anything else yet?

sfxmum · 06/08/2008 15:51

hi everyone

sillysausage how did the jabs go?

we went swimming and to kew which was nice, also booked dd's first haircut for tomorrow

mrsR got text pic of family on the beach today after much grumbling about being cold yesterday

paddle I don't strictly subscribe to a theory most comes by default, not one for carrot and stick or who is the boss kind of parenting so often drift into AP.

Paddlechick666 · 06/08/2008 15:58

sfx, yep I know that I just thought you might be amused by the threads that are around at the mo.

i'm going back to reading UP in an effort to re-focus myself into being a tolerable mother.

i don't like carrot/stick parenting but it seems to be my defender position whenever i get lax/tired/short on time!

i definatley don't like seeing dd mimic my "cross behaviour" when she is cross so i also need to find ways of becoming more calm.

minefield really isn't it!

dd is ensconced in GPs back garden with a new sandpit. can't wait for camber!

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 16:01

Hello

Paddle - what will you do with your free time, any plans? Enjoy yourself!

SBS (these are my dad's initials!) - how did jabs go?
Have sent you an email.
As for Bristol thing, I guess there is only one resolution and that is to find another job It should calm down soon as they have finally recruited someone to fill that position who starts in Sept

Bunyan - sorry got confused, thought your Ireland trip was off. Hope it goes well and sorry to hear about your DB

Sfx - hope haircut goes well tom

Ros - good luck with potty and scooter!

DS far too stimulated by his new room to actually nap in it, today I found him standing on his bed opening and closing the blinds, who needs toys eh?

sfxmum · 06/08/2008 16:06

yes the high horse type of post amuse me at times.

I seem to have managed to have choices for today's dinner shame they won't cook themselves much rather read my book

finished my little course and will probably do another little one starting next month, it is a bug I think

sfxmum · 06/08/2008 16:09

SJ at least better than the cinema I hope

Ros dd fell out of scooter countless times at first but she loves it

she is asking for a guitar and a baby for her doll pushchair hasn't heard of the credit crunch has she? and she need a winter coat

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 16:13

Oops, accidentally left DS pushcair in Wales. Luckily he's been so distracted he hasn't asked for it yet...

Was thinking of getting a scooter for DS 3rd b'day

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 16:14

I meant his pink pushchair not his real one!

Paddlechick666 · 06/08/2008 16:15

dd wants a "bittar" as she calls a guitar lol.

sj, erm tonight i am doing nothing with my free time.

i still feel very tired out and drained altho WFH probably hasn't helped that today.

trying to decide whether to pop out to M&S and buy something over indulgent for dinner or take advantage of a special deal pizza delivery.

£8.99 for any pizza any size so I could save half of it for when I get home from city drinks tomorrow evening.

either way, i will be having a long bath with a glass of wine before hand.

SJ99 · 06/08/2008 16:22

Doing nothing is bliss

Am also just going to have a bath tonight to get rid of aches and pains, and then read in bed, luxury!

Anyway best go and start cooking soon

MrsRecycle · 06/08/2008 16:23

Paddle - haven't found anything else - I'm actually looking for the dvd remote control so that I can format a DVD but can't find the thing. But I now have a tidy study and bags of shredded paperwork.

sfx - glad your sis is on the beach, one of my favourite places to be, lucky her. Tell her to check out Dunes Bar - lovely food, excellent atmosphere - we went there Christmas Day.

How does it feel to be bracefree SillyS? Am waiting for Dr Tif to get back to me - can't wait to meet him

Having 3 totally different LOs I take aspects of everyone's parenting style and tailor them accordingly. Mind you, I've yet to read a book all the way through about any of the styles. I guess the one thing I do do is Positive Parenting - don't know if there's a book on that? If not, I could write one
