steppie the poor man, I hear it is quite painful and pretty much the only thing likened to childbirth

ros how goes the den building? we had visitors and are yet to pop out I think there are puddles to jump in out there

whtayourname silly something
mellow got me some books bt I am not sure about a couple of them they might be yours? they are by Anita Shrieve let me know ans I will drop them over, besides have not really talked to you in agesany excuse

rosmerta · 05/08/2008 14:27

sfx, we haven't started the den building yet, ds just having some quiet time instead of a nap!

steppie, sorry missed your message earlier, hope dh is ok.

Kewcumber · 05/08/2008 14:28

ha I had gallstone - the size of a quails egg - try that for pain Stepfordhusband! Even the nurse told me it was the closest pain to childbirth (not teeny weeny littel kiddly stones).

P.S. am not suggesting you take that approach with him...

Ok if Foxie is Free MOnday does anyone else fancy doing something MOnday - I wonder what the weather is going to do - if fine we could do a big Kew picnic?

sfxmum · 05/08/2008 14:34

it is Thomas time now but I hope to go out soon

picnic sounds great at some point we are supposed to have a dry week of summer

Paddlechick666 · 05/08/2008 15:36

the weather forecast is officially shite till next thursday

2cute, glad you're getting some "official" advice. sounds awful but like Kew said, practice practice practice.

i feel marginally better today than I did yesterday.

yesterday dd didn't even get a bath i felt so exhausted!

sfxmum · 05/08/2008 17:22

yes wonderful August start dh is refusing to plan a break in England this year on account of the missing sun

I just don't like flying

ComeOVeneer · 05/08/2008 17:47

Monday picnic sounds good, if we do ever see the sun again.

Braved Kingston with kiddies in tow, bribed them with McD's and a gift from the disney store, managed to get all the things we needed and a few treats for me in the sales too . They are now sitting at the table have a healthy meal to mae up for the McD's (homemade salmon fishcakes with steamed veg followed by fruit and homemade vanilla yoghurt (have I regained my domestic crown then? ).

MrsRecycle · 05/08/2008 18:48

Steppie hope dh is feeling better, poor thing sounds like he was in a lot of pain. Hopefully they'll be some sympathy coming your way for going through it 3 times .

sfx - if it brightens up in September (normally does) you can always book a last minute break to the caravan at Camber.

Sorry can't do picnic, will be "sunning" myself on the beach (I hope and pray!).

COV, McDs is brilliant for bribery isn't it? Except I can't stand the food (just like you). Mind you, as they've got older, they'd much rather go to Pizza Hut (like the salad bar) than McDs.

pc - glad you are feeling a little bit better.

I spoke to dd2 today, along with ds (dd1 was still sleeping) and she really misses me. Broke my heart but I'm sure she'll cheer up tonight. We'll see, if she doesn't might be cutting my "me" time short (secretly happy!).

stepfordwife · 05/08/2008 19:10

thanks for kind wishes for dh..
too right, mrsR
hmm, kew, pain is making him a tad grumpy so, you're right, won';t tell him that

he's on his way back from spending arvo at hossie again. apparently stone is stuck in ureter (thought he'd --given birth passed it) so have sent him home to see if it happens over next few days...was hoping they'd do something to help matters along..

kew, how long did it take to pass your quail's egg or did they have to zap it?

stepfordwife · 05/08/2008 19:12

oh, we'd be up for a picnic on mon

bunyanvillas · 05/08/2008 19:23

Kew - ouch! Steppie, ouch also on behalf of your dh, hope he's on the mend soon. Ros, how was slobbing out and den building today? Cov, well done on surviving Kingston and enjoying it too! Not always an easy feat, nevermind with kids in tow. I'd love to join you all on Monday but have other plans that day - typical. So, Kew, are you off work next week? Would love to meet up soon with everyone or even a select few! Have had a friend's dd here all afternoon, has been complete chaos but that's what it's all about eh?

SJ99 · 05/08/2008 19:33

Hello all

Am moved in and back online now, woo hoo Moving wasn't too painful in the end, we blitzed quite a of the boxes at the weekend when my parents looked after DS. He loves it heer and has settled really well, what relief. Am aching all over. Am going to eat soon and veg out tonight. DH away in Bristol again this week, it is getting beyond a joke as it's not even his normal job.

Will catch up with everyone's news soon, hope everyone well.

bunyanvillas · 05/08/2008 19:39

Oooh SJ, how exciting! Congratulations on the new abode, and pleased to hear that ds is settling in well. Now you can relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. By the way, everyone, meant to say earlier - nipped down to Kidzone earlier on - and it is closed for the summer! Am off to Ireland on Thursday for a couple of nights sans children. SFX, I totally sympathise with your flying worries, I hate it too and always see it as a necessary evil. Baked potatoes here tonight. Plus baked beans. I mean, HOW low maintenance can you get?!

rosmerta · 05/08/2008 19:43

bunyan, low maintenance is sending dh off to the chippy . Didn't get round to den building in the end, ds was much more interested in my gym ball so have been playing with that! hope you have a nice time in Ireland.

Sj, congratulations on moving in, glad ds is settling well! Hope dh's trips don't go on for much longer!

MrsR, dh was just saying about getting away in Sept, would the caravan be free at all?

bunyanvillas · 05/08/2008 19:53

Lol! I was going to ask Mrs R Re: caravan/September too! Ha ha. Desperate to get away here. My trip to Ireland is to visit my db, poor guy is quite poorly and has already been in hospital for 6 weeks so I am on a cheering up mission. dh is off later in Aug for a week and we'll do daytrips etc - but these are never quite the same as a nice week away, are they ...

sfxmum · 05/08/2008 20:07

I am not sure what will happen dh always goes on about going abroad but he hates flying more than I do, think he flew Aeroflot once too often - thanks for suggestions mrsR
might end going to Vilamoura if in lwas have opening but it is not my favourite place in the world

steppie much sympathy to you too a man in actual real painself medicate is my advice

sfxmum · 05/08/2008 20:08

wave to SJ in new abode, glad to hear ds is settling in well

sfxmum · 05/08/2008 20:11

also I got a MN badge today, I have been called a ponce

sillybigsausage · 05/08/2008 20:33

Tee Hee you lot are entertaining!!

Crappo weather until next Thursday???

SFX I'm around Friday am if you fancy popping over with your LO so she and I can discuss the current cabinet and the lack of strategic direction of Mr Brown

Kew - ouch re the gallstone!!! and Steppy (((platonic big hugs))) to your DH - poor guy!

2Cute - I just don't know what to say - you and DS are sooo lovely - what have you done to deserve all this sh*t?

Sounds like very good advice from MrsR and Kew - agree you should up the anti - get angry with them and scare them back. I'm glad your Mum and Dad are being so supportive . If you ever just need a chat or a blubber over a glass of vino I'd love to see you both

Right am still at work so need to finish up here now... (trots of purposefully visualising the glass of cava that awaits me when I return home)

sillybigsausage · 05/08/2008 20:35

CoV mine are having McD tomorrow too - its the twice yearly treat they have after their Sepvax jabs. Its the only way I can get them to sit still for the jabs - pure bribery. TBH they don't even like the food - they're only interested in the free toys

rosmerta · 05/08/2008 20:59

sfx, how do you get a MN badge?

Bunyan, sorry to hear about your db.

Kewcumber · 05/08/2008 21:03

yes bunyan of nxt week - picnic MOnday s the weather is good - if not perhaps we can picnic inside somewhere?

Steppie - you don't pass a gallstone or if you do can cause tremendous damage and they can;t zap them because they break up into big jagged pieces and can travle back up to your liver ans mess it around big time.

They cut it out m'dear and my gallbladder with it to prevent recurrance. I am a gall bladder free zone and have the scars to prove it.

sfxmum · 05/08/2008 21:10

ros I was awarded one for the most poncetastic post on a thread, wasn't even trying and it was a thread about poo[

sillywhatsit that is invites for friday aren't we popular dd will no doubt be keen on discussing the state of the nation

bunyan indeed sorry about your brother hope trip goes well

sfxmum · 05/08/2008 21:10

2 invites for Friday (words going missing)

mellow2 · 06/08/2008 08:04

Hello everyone,

Steppie - dh must be in a lot of pain. No wonder he's grouchy.

QC - that must have been painful

Sfx - Nice to see you too. Dd wants to go back straight away to see mini sfx.

Sj - Glad the move wasn't too bad. Shame dh is in Bristol so soon.
