Hi all

Will come to picnic, let's hope for no rain & tantrums Will come in through Vic gate and meet you somewhere.

stepfordwife · 11/08/2008 09:40

running late..quelle surprise
will meet up with you somewhere

ComeOVeneer · 11/08/2008 09:43

Have tobail out of picnic this morning, ds has sprouted another temperature, and red cheeks no other symptoms, but isn't a happy chappie. A kind friend has offered to take dd to pizza hut for lunch and then to the cinema to see Wall-E, with her 2 children so at least shewon't drive me crazy. I have a long list of stuff to get done for our holidays too.

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 13:19

Hi all, nice to see lots of you today! Steppie, your ds's were great, any chance of hiring them? . Ds out like a light, think he was asleep as soon as I turned around to leave!

COV, sorry you couldn't make it, is ds feeling any better?

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 13:33

hi all my over dramatic child told me how lovely it was to see everyone and how much she had enjoyed it

thankfully no meltdowns at shops and now safely home resting on sofa, wish I could sleep too

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 15:09

I know I should get out this afternoon and make the most of the nice weather but ds is playing happily and watching tv which leaves me to get on with some studying! Might try & get out in a little while

PaddlePig · 11/08/2008 15:11

i'm moving up by you if you've got nice weather coz it's crappy down here!

SJ99 · 11/08/2008 15:16

Nice to see you all earlier
Steppie - hope your boys didn't mind chasing after the younger ones, they did a fab job!
No sleep for DS but he's happy and DH can look after this afternoon while I do more sorting out and some cooking

COV - hope your DS is feeling a bit better

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 15:17

paddle, I posted that in the 1 minute the sun came out

bunyanvillas · 11/08/2008 15:21

Well - how was the big picnic? Sorry we couldn't make it, already had plans to head to Garsons Farm in Esher. Was v good and dd enjoyed picking dahlias and runner beans! ds somehow managed to vomit up the inside of my cardigan sleeve Anyone around tomorrow for a meet-up? Have no idea what the weather forecase is, must check ...

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 15:30

apparently weather crap for most of week
unfortunately I will have to be out of the house for most of the day
probably be at kew from about 1pm with sister and kids

steppie they are really nice kids, can't wait for mine to be big like that, downside being I will be much older too

about to start with baking now shopping arriving between 5-7, hope nearer 5 as otherwise no dinner

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 15:34

Paddle, someone's asking for comments on Dr Halvorsen in child's health, just wanting views if you've used him I think.

Am going to do another 30mins & then think we'll do some gluing and sticking.

PaddlePig · 11/08/2008 16:18

have posted ros.

starting to pack for next week, dd will be short on clothes this week lol.

hope weather improves

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 16:46

Paddle, are you off to Camber next week?

We've ended up having a nice afternoon, bit of sticking & drawing, then ds 'helped' get his tea cooking. Gave him a pan with some lentils, bit of water & whatever I was adding to his actual meal, he loved it!

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 16:59

funnily enough shopping arrived 20mins early but have zero inspiration regarding dinner.

hope you all have nice weather in Camber and London for that matter

I think I baked too many cookies

ros dd loves cooking and cleaning too takes me twice as long but best give her a taste of the good life while I can

stepfordwife · 11/08/2008 17:14

hi ya
nice to see sfx, ros, SJ, mellow and kew earlier.

no worries - the ds' speciality is 'little kid control" as they call it . aw, thanks for compliments..they're not bad...
hmmm ros, sure i can come to reasonable rate to hire them out to you!

yes, sfx, it is lovely and easier (in some ways) when they get a bit older and more 'civilised." but you do miss the bonkers years!

is there any such a thing as too many cookies?

well, we only got in half-an-hour ago. had a mooch about the gardens, lots of roley-poley activity. went to the retail park had a reviving cappuccino and rhubarb tart in m & s coffee shop, the walked home via a mooch around mortlake cemetary - one of dd's favourite places
of course, she's now snoring her head off downstairs
oh dear...

oh ros, meant to say - thanks for link to coral reef. have been there as my sister lives in bracknell - but you've jogged my memory to go again!

bunyan, would love to meet you. but have got to do some work tomorrow. dh and i both working from home with 3 kids....so that's going to be fun
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 11/08/2008 17:16

sorry, over-use of and my pet hate !

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stepfordwife · 11/08/2008 17:18

how'd it go. kew?
and just give me a shout if you want to see mama mia....
(daaaaaaaaaancing queen, young and sweet, oooooooooonly 17, oh yeeeaaaaaaaaaaaah...)

cov, hope ds is better

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 17:34

bunyan, I'm around tomorrow afternoon if you want a coffee

Still need to organise that cinema trip don't I?

sillybigsausage · 11/08/2008 17:36

Oh I'd ike to see Mama Mia

Sorry I missed picnic but a frind in need texted yesterday asking if I cld look after er DS today and it all seemed a bit much bringing him along so we went to Tesco instead

He wassuppoe to be collected at 5pm but still here

TBH he's no trouble but its buggered my plans a bit and I really want to be able to relax now....

Glad picnic went well though (she says wisfully)

Bunyan I'd love to meet you too but have to work tomorow

I made the mistake on Friday (Iwas on leave) of sneaking a look at my work Blackberry - and found out I have to do a presentation at some biggie meeting on Weds night so had to get babysitter sorted and had to go and buy a new suit in Next

I hate it when people leave it to the last minute to plan stuff - they must've known aboyt this meeting for weeks but didnt have the courtesy to tell the other staff who they expect to just be available

[grumpy old woman emoticon]

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 17:41

on the subject of last minute stuff dh just called saying he will be late because he has been told to test systems at 6.30pm and that always goes well

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 17:47

We could make this month's meet up to be Mamma Mia at the cinema?

Sfx, dh often gets systems test at 6.30pm as well!

Sausage, hope the boy gets picked up soon!

PaddlePig · 11/08/2008 17:52

on the 3rd attempt I have finally got a portable DVD player that works!

YAY!

In order to test it all out I now have dd sitting on the lounge with earphones on watching Curious George.

It is quite strange sitting here in silence with her LOL.

I just hope it helps keep her occupied on long trips now. I like to think whilst driving not listen to toddler randomness and constantly invite accident by having to pick up whatever it is that she has dropped.

she's absolutel transfixed by this thing, despite having watched Curious George a hundred times before.

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 18:00

one day we will have a picnic in glorious sunshine

paddle sounds interesting the only time dd wears headphones is when listening to music and then she sings along

ros sympathy for my pain

sausage good luck with high powered presentation

cov hope ds is feeling better now
