Well Ros, hope you've got a wee snack - like a tub of Ben & Jerry's or similar - to keep your strength up there Remember you're eating for two Right. About to stagger off for the "dream feed" now and then pass out.

rosmerta · 09/08/2008 22:02

I've had cake !

sillybigsausage · 09/08/2008 22:04

Hi

Bunyan sorry your "welcome back" to London was so intimidating

There are some nice people here - honest

SFX/SJ -luvvelry to C U the other day

Oh dear - I seem to be swinging between being busy carrer woman and Wynetta Slob ATM

House is a tip and I'm tipsy!!!

sillybigsausage · 09/08/2008 22:05

Rock 'n' Roll indeed !!!

sfxmum · 09/08/2008 23:45

wave to rock chicks of hard living

we shared a bottle and watched a DVD after settling dd

bunyan - it pisses me off all those kid gangs mostly it is bravado but I hate giving in and feeling intimidated

think we will walk to Gunnesbury park tomorrow and see how it goes.

night night all

PaddlePig · 10/08/2008 15:01

kew, thanks for the swim. we are definately spoiled for PoTP now

won't be making it to the Mela now, dd too tired from swimming plus weather is dubious.

no idea what els to do tho

SBS, MrsR says she left a VM for you on your phone.

PaddlePig · 10/08/2008 15:18

sorry, meant to say VM says you don't have to take bed linen with you. Lucky!

SJ99 · 10/08/2008 15:59

Too tired to make it to Mela also after swim this monring and trip to Kew. DS been really tired, I think all the excitement of new house is catching up with him but he refuses to nap and is waking up earlier, vicious circle

Bunyan - pity you had a horrible return from your trip. Hope DS teething not driving you too insane

rosmerta · 10/08/2008 17:30

sj, hopefully ds will start to settle soon. Know what early mornings/no nap days are like so you have my sympathies!

We also didn't make it to the Mela, partly the weather and partly ds. Hasn't napped today and have had a couple of meltdowns!

Anyway, are there any plans still for tomorrow? Weather's listed as sunny so hopefully a picnic is possible. Plus 2cute might come along as well if we let her know the details.

Has anyone else's dc gone through a don't want to go out phase & I'm finding it easier to give in to him, but that leaves us both stir crazy!

sfxmum · 10/08/2008 18:12

ros sympathy with I don't want to go out dd went through this to a degree that drove me nearly mad, in the end I thought it best to take care of myself first (go run) just quietly dressing her and saying we are going to see the cats downstairs or some such, all this without WE ARE GOING NOW or asking
didn't always work, the challenge was for me to stay cool - hope it passes soon

we went to Mela walked there and it was quite nice if a it soggy at times. dd loved the fairground type stuff and the music too she danced a lot when someone called Mona Singh was on all very bhangra/Bollywood which she loved particularly all the shiny outfits

we thought the police where a bit heavy handed at times with kids sporting cool haircuts, (at least seemed to be their only crime) otherwise a really nice atmosphere

also although Boris threatened to show up I did not see him, shame that

sfxmum · 10/08/2008 18:14

we are thinking of going to picnic too so let me know when it is on please

sfxmum · 10/08/2008 18:15

and KC I am really fond of Gluck Orpheus and Eurydice just saying this quietly am such a softie

rosmerta · 10/08/2008 19:37

thanks sfx, I probably confuse him by asking him if we should go out, he says no & I say well we're going out anyway! Perhaps just get him dressed and out of the door with no comment is better!

About tomorrow, shall we say 10.30 at Main Gate (one opposite Kew Green cricket pitch)? Can have a walk around and then picnic, if its raining maybe C&C and be cheeky and sit in the cafe?

SJ99 · 10/08/2008 19:38

Would also like to come to picnic but will see what weather and DS are like. He wakes up early as no black out blinds gets really tired but doesn't nap as all his toys are now in his rm (previously in living rm). He sist and plays with them then later ask to sleep in pushchair - not ideal He's been really good all week but tiredness hit him today, no fun for anyone!

Sfx - glad you enjoyed Mela and managed to avoid Boris

Kewcumber · 10/08/2008 23:04

10.30 by main gate suits me Ros. We'll be there but I have to leave about 1pm (have to be near Gt Portland St suited and booted by 3pm). Hoping the weather is fine as I'm not sure I can hack C&C then pretend to be professional in the afternoon!

mellow2 · 11/08/2008 07:36

Hello,

We would like to come to the picnic too. We will park down by Brentford Gate and meet everyone down at the Main Gate.

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 11/08/2008 08:04

hello everyone
on for picnic.

er, is main gate victoria gate?

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 08:07

hi steppie, main gate is the one opposite the cricket pitch on Kew Green

stepfordwife · 11/08/2008 08:10

thanks, ros. blimey, always thought it was victoria gate! so is it the entrance you go in for weddings at kew gdns, up a bit from the botanist restaurant?
(apologies for being dim...haven't had my cawfee yet!)

rosmerta · 11/08/2008 08:26

If the Botanist is the restaurant on the corner, then yes that one. Never seen anyone for weddings though!

PaddlePig · 11/08/2008 08:28

yep that's the main gate steppie. btw and fwiw Botanist does nice food but not kid friendly in the slightest.

Kew, hope it goes well.

when the bloody hell are we going to get some nice weather - fed up with this chilly/lackadasical sun

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 08:34

good morning

I am very sleepy and dd is very energetic but went to sleep late waking up early, I will leave as soon as I can then pop to meet you all. probably in via Victoria gate then on to meet you

rubbish weather this summer seem to permanently carry around my waterproofs

off to get coffee

PaddlePig · 11/08/2008 08:39

mmmm, cofffee. good idea.

think asbo boy has gone and creepy husband back. they seem to be watching surround sound big music movies literally below my headboard till midnight now. followed by a large amount of banging and clattering around followed by a yelling match.

i think asbo and creepy play some sort of tag as they never seem to be here at the same time.

am stunned that dd sleeps thru it all, wish i could

stepfordwife · 11/08/2008 08:51

thankyou!
for you, paddle. no, it doesn't look very child-friendly

troops are running around engaged in some sort of imaginary ben 10 vs fairies tribe warfare.......
dear god, when will they learn I'M NOT A MORNING PERSON..
more cawfeeeee..

so if you don't see me at main gate by 10.30am, then i'll hook up with you somewhere
toodlepip

sfxmum · 11/08/2008 08:56

it makes me wonder about some people and how it all falls in a strange rhythm of its own.
one of my neighbours every day without at the same time screams for ELLIOT and EMILY to come for tea cue a few minutes of shouted exchanges peppered with expletives and threats on both sides
