stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 15:56

SJ, oh god no, don't worry about it being tomorrow. sure your dh has got a million better things to do than clambering up to the loft when he gets back after a week away!
what time is best for you on saturday?

paddle.......oink oink

kew, if it helps you time-wise on mon, you can always leave ds with me (if he's happy with that!) and i could drop him off at your ma's.

better sort... (it's probably dd mithering them )
toodlepip

SJ99 · 07/08/2008 15:59

Steppie - No idea what we're doing at wkend (what is weather forecast?), we'll probably be home in the morning though if that suits you

stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 16:05

SJ, Fab. Is 10ish OK?
but will txt you you tomorrow morning first - if your plans change, no probs. Much appreciated.

sfxmum · 07/08/2008 16:09

one carpet cleaning company quoted me £1 per square metre what the frak is that? can't they just say per room?

Kewcumber · 07/08/2008 16:11

thats weird sfx they normally quote per room.

Steppie thanks for the offer - lets play it by ear and I'll line my mum up anyway - not sure how you would manage two runners though [hmm}

rosmerta · 07/08/2008 16:44

sfx, agree with Kew, all companies we've had quote have done it by room!

sfxmum · 07/08/2008 16:50

so what companies have you used?

I have a few numbers but so far 2 of them are busy or no answer I expect they are small operations

posted pics on FB not of bal pit incident

stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 16:53

SJ,sorry meant saturday morning..
no worries, kew

will have my two helpers with me so all runners will be chased and captured

stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 17:03

sfx, we had our stairs, landing and 3 bedrooms cleaned recently (god knows why..)..and it was £117 including VAT.
company was called cardinal.

sfxmum · 07/08/2008 17:05

thanks steppie just booked someone for living room bedroom and hall £75 hey ho at least recomended by neighbour

stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 17:12

sounds all right, sfx..
i am now hiding from the boys overtaking my house..
dd is being the typical annoying little sister following them around..think they're scared of her

ComeOVeneer · 07/08/2008 17:30

Well sun finally surfaced here. Have just had a lovley couple of hours at the park, me wih coffee and trashy mag, children playing with friends who were there. Then picked a load of blackberries on the way home (for apple and blackberry crumble to be made tomorrow morning). Children tucking into macaroni cheese with eggs and lardons and brocoli. Fingers crossed weather holds so I can get out on the bike this evening. Am very proud of myself, have lost 7lbs now in preparation fr biini next Saturday . I could murder some choccie though!

What time are we planning Monday?

MrsRecycle · 07/08/2008 17:36

my ds had his haircut for nothing - my hairdresser loves him so much she doesn't charge. She does all 3 (Wash cut blow-drys for £10).

Steppie - can get you mates' van that first weekend that SillyS/Me will be there. Its the same van that pc has/will be staying in so highly recommended - 3 beds/freeview. I will email you the price.

Rain - what rain? - I've been walking around in my bikini gardening all day. Mind you I did go over to Walton and drove back through puddles at Hampton/Isleworth.

Must dash, off to get my legs waxed - ouch!

stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 19:00

ooohhhh, COV, my fave combo..coffee and trashy mag!

mrsR thanks for your email, sounds fab, but ly can't do first weekend in sep.
blimey, does DS already have his hair cut? dd has yet to have a haircut...but waited so long for her to grow some hair, i'm in no rush

talking of cleaned carpets, sfx. ds2's friend had a nose bleed. i displayed my nurturing, caring side. "*Don't

  • bleed over my carpets, matey." .. then a belated "Are you OK?" as i tenderly pinched the bridge of his nose..
SJ99 · 07/08/2008 19:14

Steppie - 10am should be fine (have yet to tell DH he has to go in loft so he can't have a lie in ). Hope nosebleed crisis not too traumatic for friend

Mrs R - legwax, ouch indeed!

Sfx - carpet price seems alright. We got charged about £100 for hallway, stairs + 2 bedrooms when we left Twicks, agent arranged it

Launched myself on my neighbour today. It worked out really well as she has a 2.5yr & 10mth old boys, DS really enjoyed it & the mum was very nice. I felt a bit bad as I only meant to pop round to say hello and we ended up staying there for a few hrs!

PaddlePig · 07/08/2008 19:14

sfx, I cant believe you took pics of ball park incident!
Will check fb later. In pub at mo!

sfxmum · 07/08/2008 19:23

I have to call carpet people back to ask about VAT and form of payment, pretty hard to make appointment with dd screaming in my hear
CARPETS no no cleaning today, tell him absolutely no carpet cleaning

sfxmum · 07/08/2008 19:24

not of ball pit incident paddle - honestly

steppie charity starts at home

stepfordwife · 07/08/2008 19:30

fab pics, sfx..
think dd has discovered one of the joys of life...a trip to the hairdressers...coffee, mags and a nice lady covers the grey

oh lordy, SJ..your dh is going to love the bloody nuisance steppie household. would 11am be better?
tell you what, i'll email you later, to stop everyone getting bored to tears over my packing box requirements.

paddle you're in a pub. glug-glug time here, too. cheers!

mellow2 · 08/08/2008 08:03

Hello everyone,

We went out in the downpour yesterday and I got completely wet after being splashed on by a passing van.

sfx - oh no, and dd has been doing so well. It always happens when one is least prepared.

dd gets her hair cut for £12 but I do like the
results.

Ros,
Which nursery is ds going to again?

I've just started doing nursery/pre-school research and I'm not enjoying it. [sigh]
