SJ99 · 25/07/2008 19:40

Wasn't planning on logging in but DS had a 3hr nap this arvo, he's well tired after this week's activities and late trip yesterday. Also watched Mamma Mia this afternoon, thought it was hilarious, an easy, silly film to watch.

Well done Paddle on your review

Slng - glad you tried the recipe, told you it was easy peasy & yummmy, my kind of cooking!

Have to confess to bringing all my laundry here, what are mums for?

ComeOVeneer · 26/07/2008 00:19

Lovley to see you this evening, Kew,TD,Sushi, steppy,SFX and MrsR. Back home safe and sound and having a glss of wine and profiteroles and watching a movie, making the most of my last nigh of freedom

Paddlechick666 · 26/07/2008 10:06

sfxmum · 26/07/2008 10:23

good morning all

lovely to see all last night, it has been a while since I was chucked out of a pub at closing time

hoping for a quiet day

stepfordwife · 26/07/2008 10:51

morning all
grand to see you all last night and, yes, a giggle getting kicked out.

yes, i've got a headache too...and it's all whatshername's fault...forcing me to drink that second bottle of wine
forgot i had an interview this morning...bit of a problem as my tongue feels too big for my mouth and i'm finding it difficult to string sentences together...don't think the interviewee noticed..

SJ..i'm going to see mama mia this afternoon. the friend i'm going with has seen the stage show five times and this will be her third time for the film. i fear she'll make me dance...

toodlepip

stepfordwife · 26/07/2008 10:52

oh and bit of a result that i drank the most wine and paid the least ..sorry, i mean ..
i owe you all a drink!

ComeOVeneer · 26/07/2008 11:57

Right well my mini break is over, am about to leave in a few minutes to reunite with dh and the children, it was nice while it lasted

Paddlechick666 · 26/07/2008 17:55

sfxmum · 26/07/2008 18:09

hangover oh yes usually after another sleep
hope you feel better soon

had fan on all day when indoors
dd complaining about heat like a good British girl

Paddlechick666 · 26/07/2008 18:26

lol sfx, i actually had a great sleep last night but am still feeling very tired now.

felt so rotten i thought i might have to pull over on way home from collecting dd

the dangers of drinking on an almost empty tummy, but it was good fun

i have comfort food (leftover mac n cheese) for supper and plan to go to bed early.

stepfordwife · 26/07/2008 19:45

happy birthday, mini-whateveryername is now

well, i agrre SJ, mamma mia is fabulous

my face aches from smiling throughout - except for the bits that brought a tear to my eye
meryl streep is breath-taking.never been a fan particularly, but thought she was fab.

love how it celebrates women "of a certain age". and you forget how poignant abba lyrics are because, well. they're that silly group in 70s clothes who won eurovision...

my friend didn't make me dance, but did sing along

go
see
enjoy

stepfordwife · 26/07/2008 19:47

itsmyparty · 26/07/2008 21:31

Evenin' All

Well I really enjoyed last night - lovely to see you all

Sorry I didn't get to talk to everyone

Had a fab day today but really suffering with my hangover. Can't believe I drank a whole bottle of Pinot Grigio (I had been drinking since 12.30 as well)

Mrs R will try and remember to send that cheque - should I leave the "payable to" bit blank or what?

itsmyparty · 26/07/2008 21:32

Paddle - was Adam out with the crowd last night? Say helloooo

Glad you had a fab time - its funny we didn't meet up with you last night but are all suffering a similar hungover feeling (soul mates or wot?)

susiecutiebananas · 26/07/2008 22:45

hey there all, so pleased you all had a fab time last evening

I've had a hot day again today, mainly playing in the garden, then I popped into kingston to buy a 'tankini' and bottoms for our holiday next week and ended up with far too much other stuff, was a tad expensive, Next has a habit of doing that to me!!!

I can't wait to go away. Most of all as it will be the first time we've seen DH for ( except one night last w/e) 6 weeks!! I miss him. He's being a shit bag and has his phone off... not happy.

Anyhow, I'm just enjoying a large baileys! Hope those of you with hangovers are feeling better now

slng · 27/07/2008 09:12

Morning all!

What's everyone up to today? We might go swimming, or perhaps I shouldn't call it swimming. We are going to sit in the swimming pool, perhaps with ball and watering cans.

Susie - where are you off to?

sfxmum · 27/07/2008 11:08

good morning all

susie holiday sounds good

not sure what we will be up to today as little as possible is my aim

SJ99 · 27/07/2008 18:52

Hello all

Isn't it hot? Had a lovely weekend, went to beach yesterday. DS was either brave or nuts as he kept diving into all the waves and didn't want to get out of the sea even though water was pretty cold! I only managed up to my knees before having to get out.
We took him on the railway to Brecon today, really nice scenery & DS of course loved the train ride.

Hope those of you with hangovers are feeling better by now.

Steppie - agree, Meryl Streep was great in the film, glad you enjoyed it too

Susie - It's tough when DH away, mine has been working in Bristol for past 8mths but thankfully that is nearly over, but even then he rarely comes home before DS in bed even when working locally. Anyway enjoy your hols.

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 19:16

Hi SJ [waves] - sounds fabby )

Weve been chilling allday in garden (well I had a swim at 8am , ten mad dash to church, then several hours of Waynetta Slob impersonations in the back garden [wink)

slng · 27/07/2008 19:26

Itsmyparty - is that you again?

When's the next night out?

Our swim this morning was great! I decided to try NOT doing anything, and DS2 went on the slide! To put this in perspective: he has spent all the previous visits just sitting at the shallow step and moaning... This "don't do anything" parenting technique is highly recommended!

slng · 27/07/2008 19:40

We are having 20 cloves of garlic for tea tonight. Safe from vampires!

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 20:44

Sln - which pool did yuo go to today?

I really enjoyed the Kew Gardens Hotel - its a great venue - as well as th fabulous company we had nice food and drink, comfy seats and we even had our own en-suite loo

We could try that new Lebanese place in Sandycombe road, which is actually open now. Steppy and I were nosing at the menue as we walked down on Friday and it loks tres yummy

slng · 27/07/2008 21:04

Itsmyparty - we went to Gurnell.

Is there a beach in Kew Gardens this year?
