For when the other thread runs out today!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 27/07/2008 21:34

slng no beach but I will be there tomorrow

SJ beach and Beacons train etc sounds great

dh went out with dd for most of the afternoon and I stayed home reading the papers, my book and listening to music, occasionally loudly and occasionally dancing around like a loon

sfxmum · 27/07/2008 21:36

party person dd often answers to dh question - what have you been up to today?
oh nothing just slobbing around

best perfect the art now

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 21:36

Slng - was Gurnell crowded?

I'd like to know if there i a beach at Kew this year too (too lazy to walk down and look)

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 21:39

"Slobbing around?"

SFX what time R U going to Kew?

We could pop down after swimming 9which would be about 1pm)

...saying that though, I am quite enreliable... as I can't face the organisational ordeal required to get my arse and three smaller arses in gear to go to Kew for what, lets face it, would be lunchtime, with three kids....

bunyanvillas · 27/07/2008 21:40

Sing - no beach at Kew this year. Hello everyone {{waves}}. End of a lovely weekend involving lots of naked running and cycling around in the garden (dd, not me you'll be relieved to hear)! Poor ds finally asleep after 3 hr crying fit, it's too hot for him. Sorry to have missed a good night out on Friday. DH had the audacity to go out for the evening leaving me sitting in front of Celebrity Masterchef Met up with some friends last week who are more experienced parents than moi and who have come up with spreadsheets for the summer hol activities. Anyone else here do that? Am just winging it in the usual chaotic style at this end! So what's going on with all the namechanging? Am wondering if "bunyanvillas" is a tad stale at this point ...

slng · 27/07/2008 21:43

party (this name is not so convenient for abbreviation) - Gurnell quite busy but not too crowded.

Contemplating Kew for tomorrow too ... but has anyone seen the forecast. Doom and gloom for the coming week.

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 21:43

Bunyan Hi!! [waves]

How are you feeling Missus?

Spreadsheets???

Now call me old fashioned, but I thought that the whole idea of holidays was to relax i.e. "slob around" (thanks mini-SFX), wake up late and play every thing by ear...

sfxmum · 27/07/2008 21:45

yes dh refers to his slobbing around shoes, she uses all of our expressions
-taking me out of this freaking bath no idea where she got that from

no idea when I will be there always aim for early often leave house near lunch time, the other day was a minor miracle

bunyanvillas · 27/07/2008 21:46

Oh crikey 30 degrees tomorrow!! There is a little cloud sign with rain coming out of it on the bbc website, wonder if I am ok leaving the washing out. Well, I am not venturing out into the garden now so will just have to cross fingers. Feeling extremely lazy at this particular moment.

sfxmum · 27/07/2008 21:48

spreadsheets are they accountants?
no no no very much let it go let the mood guide you

slng I think weather forecasts are pretty much a dare and to drive foreigners, and retired colonel to weird obsessions
IMO

last Friday thunderstorms forecast and we had a lovely sunny afternoon

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 21:49

Slng:

According to BBC

Mon - hot sunny 28
Tues - mucho crappo rain all day
Weds - sun/cloud 24
Thurs - sunny 26
Fri - 27

Oh I so must get a life

sfxmum · 27/07/2008 21:49

Hi Bunyan {waves}

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 21:52

"Taking me out of this freaking bath"

???

Slng - 30%????

Rain was forecast fo today too LOL!!!

Am half tempted to invite people round here to be Waynetta Slobs while LOs splash in our new and feakin' paddling pool but TBH can't be arsed tidying up after everyone LOL!!!

bunyanvillas · 27/07/2008 21:56

Right, I'm off, have just finished watching Edith Piaf biopic and feeling rather emotional and dramatic. So, same as usual then. SFX, I haven't bothered tidying up after our lot of visitors today, have just shoved all the crap into a corner and perhaps it will have disappeared by tomorrow. Garden looks like a bombsite. Fingers crossed for a good night here ie no hysterical giggling and shouting from ds circa 4.30am oh pleeeeeease .....

sfxmum · 27/07/2008 22:04

bunyan I saw a telly biopic years ago of Piaf with all her lovers and lots of songs Yve Montand Aznavour etc was pretty good might catch the movie sometime

as for tidying I guess I will have a tidy place place when I can afford a cleaner, must have a defective gene or an extremely potent lazy one

itsmyparty · 27/07/2008 22:20

a it La Vi en Rose?

We just had watched that for my film club

mellow2 · 28/07/2008 08:27

Hello everyone,

We had a lovely weekend too, spending most of our time in Kew.

Party girl,
Are you off all week? I'd like to drop off your books.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 28/07/2008 08:54

good morning all

so hot already

for the first time in ages I have really nasty PMT pain and cramps this is what I get for not going running in a while, silly woman

hope this is a quiet day will see what happens

must get some salad / deli stuff from shop not cooking tonight

hope all are well today

bunyanvillas · 28/07/2008 08:57

Yes, La Vie en Rose. Good film. What a tragic life she had. SFX no cleaner this end either but I say "what's the point" the place is covered in crumbs and random drawings scattered all over the place, stickers etc only ten mins post-clean! I am getting round the grubby house problem by planning to be out most of the week. Have a friend coming over on Friday who is quite posh so this will prompt an emergency whirlwhind cleaning and hoovering sesh on Thursday evening! Gosh, hot already eh, folks?

bunyanvillas · 28/07/2008 08:58

SFX, how horrid - get some nurofen down you pdq. A large mid-morning slab of cake may also help . See you all later ...

slng · 28/07/2008 09:28

Is it mid-morning yet? Is it cake time yet? Where's my cake?

ComeOVeneer · 28/07/2008 09:29

Morning all. Had a lovely wekend. IL's looked after children Sarurday afternoon/evening whilst we went to the wedding, then drove down to my parents yesterday for a lovely BBQ and spen the afternoon in the garden with paddling pool etc whilst lo's playe with their cousins. Then home last night wih just ds, will pick dd (and neice) up on Thursday! Hoping for deent weather Thurs-Sub with all 3 of them here or I will be climbing the walls. Right must go off an entertsin ds.

SFX hope you fel better soon. I assume those ith hangovers are all recovered?

Kewcumber · 28/07/2008 09:58

nice to see the drunkards steppie and Whatshername on Friday and teh more sensible of you too. It was a nice place wan't it, though I think hte food is avergae (having said that my burger was delish and the chips were fab)

So hot last night I slept very badly and DS joining me at about midnight didn't help [bleary eyed emoticon]

slng · 28/07/2008 10:06

Party person - do your dc have spanish lessons on weekends? (Why do I think that? Am I right?)

Kewcumber · 28/07/2008 10:38

Did someone say cake?

Made bread from a packet at the weekend (wholemeal and sunflower) which was nice but a bit bricklike (think I knocked some of the air out of it). Wouldn;t do it regularly because of the tendancy to eat it warm with shedloads of butter which I need like a hole in the head...
