For when the other thread runs out today!

OP posts:

sorry paddle, first bit of your post is talking into tongues to a luddite like me...
never kept up with lost or even started watching heroes..
there's a swathe of TV programmes have missed out.
a friend is so outrages, i haven't watched the sopranos, she's giving the box set of series 1 with orders to view...

dd has got a pair of flip flops dh bought her from one of his trips. very cute. just one problem. she can't walk in them.

know what you mean, mrsR...but, come on, £4 for ten tupperware containers...who cares of half of them don't survive the top shelf, eh?

oh work...trouble is when you work from home and kids are off school, you keep thinking you're off, too.

stepfordwife · 25/07/2008 10:09

in tongues, even..

stepfordwife · 25/07/2008 10:13

and, yes, sfx, sadly too many people make you feel you're committing a social crime having the audacity to be out in public with a child...

finally, after nearly 9 years and 3 kids, just beginning to develop a thicker sin and realise sometimes it's their sourness to blame instead of constantly shhhing and hectoring my (relatively) well behaved children to make sure they don't annoy anyone.

slng · 25/07/2008 10:14

How about shower curtains? How often should shower curtains be changed?

sfxmum · 25/07/2008 10:15

paddle - first series of Heroes is good but last ep is rubbish

lost has jumped the shark missed an entire season at some point and hardly noticed

six feet under, sopranos, the wire, Firefly all good IMO

rosmerta · 25/07/2008 10:17

Must admit I got very fed up with the last series of Lost, yet I still watched it . Have just started watching 2nd series of Heroes, not as bad as I was expecting!

sfxmum · 25/07/2008 10:18

steppie that is when dh's complete absorption in whatever he is doing, to the detriment of everything else, really comes in useful
he never even notices other people

  • this trait usually annoys me but I can see its usefulness
stepfordwife · 25/07/2008 10:21

ikwym, sfx. my dh is impossible to embarrass...god knows i've tried.
funny how something can be the trait you most hate/admire at the same time, isn't it?

sfxmum · 25/07/2008 10:21

shower curtain usually put it through the machine a few times then give up and get a new one usually a couple of times a year

slng · 25/07/2008 10:38

Argos used to have the best shower curtains, with lovely blue fishes.

I think I have just surpassed myself as the dullest person online.

sfxmum · 25/07/2008 13:08

so much for one o'clock still home and slowly losing the will to live

ok deep breaths start again

stepfordwife · 25/07/2008 13:11

sfxmum · 25/07/2008 13:14

oh yes afyter ages trying to get dd to have a drink she now sat in the potty and had a full glass and told me she might have more wee soon and is not moving
notice that ranting text to dh went unanswered

rosmerta · 25/07/2008 13:21

sfx you have my sympathies, dh tends to ignore my ranting as well! Ds not napping today by the sound of it so think we'll have an afternoon at home with the paddling pool, though that's slowly becoming more like a sandpit!

sfxmum · 25/07/2008 13:23

I think if I had a garden I would not bother today but I need fresh air

she seems ready to go now

also she found some hair rolers and wants to wear them

rosmerta · 25/07/2008 13:32

does she still have her necklace & ring?

SJ99 · 25/07/2008 13:58
