For when the other thread runs out today!

OP posts:

slng, glad ds is ok. Boys definately are more of a hazard than girls Ds never ceases to amaze me how he can injure himself. EG nose bleed from falling of a skateborad or rather lying on his tummy on a skateboard and just popping over the front banging nose on soft playground surface from a height of at least 3 inches

Have I missed something. I can gather who TD is but unsure as to why she is constantly morphing - a personality disorder perhaps?

Hope everyone is well, and those who went to Latitude had a fab time (is it still going or are they home now?)

First day of holidays here.

DH has been an absolute star - he got up with the children, dressed/fed/cleared breakfast stuff/unloaded and loaded dishwasher/put on a load of washing/made beds and brought me a cup of coffee in bed . He has now left for a doctors appt to see how his ear is (still not great despite 3 lots of antibiotics - and now a dodgy digestive system - any thoughts on what could help with that?) then work.

We have a full itenerary of activities for the day (I'm sure the enthusiasm will lessen as the holiday goes on, although dh is taking them to his parents on Weds giving me 4 days to myself, then on Sunday I am taking dd down to my parents for another 4 days (so just have to look after ds for those). Well best get on and entertain those kids. Catch you all later.

BTW are we still on for Friday?

MrsRecycle · 21/07/2008 09:29

morning ladies! Quick catch up/post...

Glad you had a lovely name incognito.

slng - how awful about ds but glad to hear no lasting damage (apart from his pride). Thanks for the cq - got it Saturday.

Had a lovely weekend, although ds decided to dive headfirst out of the van onto the concrete below. He has a massive bump on his head. We spent Saturday night on the beach paddling, crab catching and watching the beautiful sunset. Yesterday we went to Rye to see the Raft Race, we let dds cycle there and back (inc dd2 who was showing off her newly acquired two wheel skills).

I have 4 LOs this week - dds df from the site has come back with us. She is lovely and no trouble and ds loves her to bits.

MrsRecycle · 21/07/2008 09:33

cross post COV! Sorry to hear dh is still not feeling better. Re. digestive problem - cut out diary produce until he is feeling much better and then gradually introduce it to see if it creates a reaction. Must be something in the air, my dh has been a star the past few days as well. You deserve a rest, enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm definitely on for Friday night. dh is taking LOs to the van and I'll make my way down there by train the next day.

Kewcumber · 21/07/2008 09:37

problmes presumably caused by antibiotics - so plenty of live yoghurt and only take them on a very full stomach. (not just a slice of bread)

ComeOVeneer · 21/07/2008 09:50

Sorry your ds is in the wars too MrsR. Yes I think it must be the antibiotics - I bought him some actimel drinks yesterday to see if that helps. Well he just phoned. His ear is still red and the eardrum bulging despite a course of amoxycillin, then erythromycin, then some other (a powerful one 3 tablets one a day for 3 days that is used to treated STDs ). This has been going on since the 5th of July. He is being referred to an ENT specialist - he is on his way to work and will try to get an appt at one of the hospitals in London today. The GP has now given him something to combat the dizziness. He had a blood test on Friday to check all is well in that department (not sure exactly what they are checking out with that and DH being DH didn't really bother to ask) which we should get the reaults for either tomorrow or Weds. He is just getting so feed up with it

SJ99 · 21/07/2008 10:00

Hello all

We're back. Seaside trip and festival were really excellent Had a fab time, all very relaxing.

Sfx - sorry we didn't see you much, I tried to find your tent but there were too many blue ones and I wasn't sure which one was yours! Anyway hope you enjoyed rest of fest.
Paddle & H - thanks for letting DS 'drive' the van, that made his day

Back to reality now though, 2 more days of sorting and packing before removals turn up on Weds. Will be out and about Wed/Thurs if anyone wants to meet, need to get DS out of the house. Then off to Wales Thurs evening.

Hope everyone else is well

topdolly · 21/07/2008 17:50

LOL at that guy SFX!!!

Fairies sound great

We found a Fairy shop in Polperro - an entire shop dedicated to fairies!!! DD spent ages in there and got her birthday presents from us (two fairy outfits, two pairs of fairy shoes, a spare pair of fairy wings, a flower fairy headress - you get the picture?)

Paddlechick666 · 21/07/2008 21:31

evening all, we are back and clean and dd is all tucked up.

another great weekend away. weather could've been better but we managed. didn't do as much as we wanted/intended but we saw the majority of what we wanted to see and dd was, on the whole, very well behaved.

sfx, sj, great to see you guys. happy to have been of help and/or entertainment.

we had a large amount of security around our way on saturday night too. lol @ middle class civil servant!

h decided it was actually a mumsnet convention going under the name of Latitude. i have never seen so many Ergos in my life LOL.

I am definately getting a wagon thingy for next year tho.

hello everyone else, glad you missed us!

btw, the porta potty thing has been an absolute godsend for us. thanks for putting me onto it SFX.

3g is up and running so old 2g is being donated to H.

sfxmum · 21/07/2008 22:05

ok caught up

slng and mrsR hope your boys are ok ouch and what a worry

ros how did the speech therapy appointment go?

namechanger and sushi glad your respective hols were nice.
the fairy shops sounds great

cov hope your dh feels better soon, AB create havoc with tummy flora

KC wise to back up dh does that religiously

paddle there was no exta security but the guy just refused to show the bracelet when asked so got jumped
our porter told us a few things regarding people who were caught by security all just funny nothing dangerous

ComeOVeneer · 22/07/2008 09:25

Morning all. Glad the festival was an overall sucess. Ealing jazz sounds interesting namechanger. When and where, (seeing as I am child/dh free as of tomorrow am I may meet you).

DH saw an ENT specialist in Harley Street yesterday (thank goodness his job gives him private health insurance). It turns out he has a very rare kind of viral ear infection (so 3 lots of AB's have done nothing more than bu**er up his intestinal flora), diagnosed by the blisters on his ear-drum. Anyho, nothing can be done but boost the immune system (dh has a low immune system due to the drugs he takes to combat his psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, leaving him more prone to infections so a catch22 situation), take sudafed to try and reduce the congestion, stematol (sp) for the dizziness and ovatrine (sp) nasal drops. He can't take his embrel (psoriasis drug) until this is resolved so will end up in pin from his joints again .

I just hope he gets better quickly and then we can go on holiday and he will get a well deserved rest/recuperation. Good job we aren't fly to France, but driving instead.

SJ99 · 22/07/2008 09:50

Morning all

Just a quickie (sorry will catch up with everyone's news next week when in Wales and not quite so busy), Mellow/Ros - sounds great, shall we meet 10-10.30am ish at Kew on Thurs then?
