Wasn't going to buy ED's but as my friend already had a pair thought I might as well pack them just in case. Am going early to Southwold to stay at B&B so won't be arriving at fest til Fri, can have nice sleeps and showers this week

Minipads is such a party animal she'll probably be up later than me

rosmerta · 14/07/2008 22:09

Thanks for emailing me! Appreciate it can be hard to write about again so I owe you all a drink!

mellow2 · 15/07/2008 07:31

Hi sj,

I'll probably see you at Cheeky Monkey this morning. I'll try to get dd a pair of wings so she's a pseudo fairy.

Hello everyone,

.

I'm afraid I can't contribute to all this festival talk but I hope you all have a good time.

hello, people
just a quickie (oohh-er, matron) sorry, have been watching carry on films...
hope everyone well and even more excited about festival
got a glut of end-of-school activities here

helped with a trip to the seaside with 120 kids fromk infants yesterday..some of the children had never seen the sea before,. for some reason i can't get that out of my mind..how sad that is for them, like never seeing the sky or something..

sports days all today (note to self: dig out long neglected sports bra for mums' race )
will catch up properly tomorrow when (hopefully) get to do some work...
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 15/07/2008 08:22

and sfx, glad i'm not the only one who sometimes forgets her two-glass of vino limitations these days

slng · 15/07/2008 08:35

Good morning!

Sleeplesssomewhere - Didn't you go on a holiday in France earlier this year? Where is it? Can you recommend?

Steppie - not seen the sea! And living on a rather small island!

Must go to dentist now.

Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 09:48

dd calls her EDs Ear Detectors which I find hilarious!

we are getting festival fever altho I do wish dd would sleep earlier, better and later!

last night it was 8pm then scary polar bears ice-skating at 1am and awake by 6:30! i feel hungover today [bluergh]

maybe i should not have scoffed nearly an entire tub of Cherry Garcia last night. but what can you do if it's too hard to scoop out of the tub? I was missing my TV prog so I took the whole thing into the lounge with me and whoops, it was gone!

ah well, it's frozen yoghurt so that's healthy right?

I am reading Richard Halvorsen's book on immunisation and am shocked to say the least. We have a consult with him 1st August.

After that DD and I are going to live in a cave on a remote island and eat grass.

steppie, we forget how fortunate our kids are sometimes don't we? Richmond Housing run an Urban Academy and take kids off on outward bound weekends, some of them have never left London which I find incredibly sad.

Slng, whatevershe'scallednow is on holidays in Cornwall this week. Mind you I think Steppie has actually been to the site in France too.

(idly wonders to self just how many holidays whatevershe'scallednow is going to have this year!)

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 09:54

I'm having a mjor snit about bloody interest rates. I have just wokred out that my mortgage is going to go up £300 per month when my rate expires early next year.

Bloody hell I have got a bit lax with my spending wbut that will all be over now - I need to work out where I can save £300. Aldi here I come.

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 09:55

good morning all

you lot are dangerously close to start talking politics, or at least stop me talking social policy, my pet subject

anyway if you think not seeing the sea is sad, last summer I was in Hyde Park and a little boy, about 5 got super excited because 'mummy it is a real life duck' we actually heard it confirmed it was the first time he'd seen it

anyway got stuff to sort out so might stay local today, unfortunately my packing list carefully compiled over weeks is on my laptop which my niece has. feeling anxious now I need list

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 09:58

KC early last year we made a gamble which seemed daft of signing for a fixed rate for 6yrs when our original deal expired, not feeling so bad now even if it comes down at least we know how much we pay, it is very tight now as it is for everyone I think

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 10:07

Thank you sfx that is a great comfort to me

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 10:15

sorry being daft not sure I am cut out for this, all sorts of house buying/ owning really make me over anxious
as does any sort of gambling

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 10:17

Oh I don;t gamble either (unkless owning house in current climate could be considered gambling)

slng · 15/07/2008 10:39

Back from dentist [gleaming smile/grimace]

Steppie - have you been on holiday to where whatshername's been to in France as Paddle alleges? Is it nice? Do you have to speak French?

Where can we go for a week that's nice and not too far?

sfx - ducks are so passe. We saw two firemen at the top of very very tall extended ladder in chinatown on Sunday. Now that's exciting. And DS1 is also excited at a new yellow sign at the end of our road. He thinks it might warn of fire. We will investigate this afternoon. (Yes we are obsessed with Fireman Sam at the moment ...)

Also was there going to be an outing to that train thing near COV's?

slng · 15/07/2008 10:42

A bit excited at the prospect of broadbeans in the veg box arriving later today. Yum! (Sorry will go away now ...)

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 10:57

not keen on broadbeans except the newest of new baby braod beans.

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 10:59

and I may be living on broadbeans soon [doleful emoticon]

Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 11:04

broadbeans are yucky.

kew, i feel your pain. mine is up for renewal Dec 09 and I am already worrying about it.

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 11:07

broadbeans are yum as are most beans

I like broadbeans in polenta left to cool then cut in squares and fried yum yum eaten with a fresh tuna steak

slng · 15/07/2008 11:17

Polenta is evil!

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 11:18

Polenta ranks only marginally better than courgettes in the Devil Spawn Food stakes.

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 11:22

no no no comfort food with milk and butter

don't like the instant thingy has to take time to make it properly like a risotto all that instant malarkey robs all flavour

slng · 15/07/2008 11:24

It's the flavour that's the problem.

Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 11:29

I like polenta and courgettes.

Celery is disgusting tho.
