Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 12:42

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 12:49

badly worded question sorry
minimum spend so that they will deliver that is
trying to avoid going to town

Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 12:56

I think it's 20 quid

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 12:58

thanks website being difficult today or maybe this old computer

oh my lovely list

mellow2 · 15/07/2008 13:02

I love beans but don't like the side effects. I love polenta but don't have the patience to make it from scratch.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 15/07/2008 13:18

to be honest Mellow I only get the proper stuff when I go to my aunt's hard to find time with dd around
about the flavour it is just a base really don't think I ever really had it plain, we would always add whatever

I remember eating broad beans and borlotti beans in the pods cooled down with baked sweet potatoes and barbecued fish or meat

Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 13:26

sfx, you almost make those beans sound appetising there lol.

i like green beans and that's about it tbh/

i don't like bakes beans, broad beans, string beans, kidney beans etc etc.

they're too mushy..........

i quite like jelly beans tho!

slng · 15/07/2008 13:34

Broad beans are not mushy. Boil a couple of minutes in water, eat while popping them out of membrane. Yum. There never is enough left for whatever recipes. Kidney beans, on the other hand, are the invention of the devil.

slng · 15/07/2008 13:37

I had a really nice broad beans dish in Luxumbourg once ...

Enough about beans. Let's discuss another vegetable group.

Or potty training - ds2 spent 5 hours in nursery without going once. Is that normal?

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 13:39

well I was once roundly told off on a thread for suggesting that I didn't need to stick DS on a potty every hour. Apparently chidlren pee every hour (presumably on the hour). DS is another one with (for his age and size) pretty good bladder control.

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 13:48

dd can go a long time without a wee much to my amazement but then again I am old and have had a kid so not what is was

what about vegetable soup slng?
a nice spring veg minestrone?

beans and pulses are staples at ours could not do without them at all
next you will be saying you don't like cabbage and assorted greens

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 13:55

" I don't like baked beans "

Isn't that illegal in England?

MrsRecycle · 15/07/2008 14:03

I hate beans as well - always reminds me of cheapo frozen version that we had growing up (loads of stalks in). But dd2 loves them, opens them up and eats the "princesses wishes" (seeds to you and me!).

KC - we always remortgage around 6 months before the end of fixed rate deal and get another. Is this not possible? Contact your mortgage co and see if they can offer you a remortgage, if not go to another company. I do this every 2 years, with the minimum of hassle.

slng - how about Camber? Our caravan is available up until end of first week in August - when do you want to go? Highly recommended

ds was scared of an airplane on Sat when we were at my sis, he rushed inside and peered out through the door to have a look. Made me realise that although we live behind RAF Northolt we don't get to see any planes.

dds had brilliant school reports - we just have to deal with dd2 moving to a different class to all her df's. I'm not too worried as she has a brilliant teacher who she's had before and I think she will do well with him without the distractions.

pc - dh is happy about your h's new job

Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 14:14

cassoulet is my worst nightmare. disgusting!

baked beans are okay occasionally if I am starving hungry. putting them with perfectly good bacon and eggs is a travesty.

i love cabbage. especially red cabbage braised with apple and cider. savoy cabbage is delicious. raw cabbage, any kind of cabbage i love.

i like most veggies and fruit with the odd exception of beans and celery.

dd went from about 1pm till nearly 6pm without a wee on Saturday and she'd had a drink of juice about 4ish.

does this mean she has remarkable bladder control or that I have allowed her to become dehydrated?

I have a really difficult report to write, I dunno what I am goin to put in it and I am procrastinating!

MrsR, yeh H said he'd spoken to your DH yesterday. Am impressed with MrR's powers of endurance and your own powers of tolerance! Wish I could have similar but in reverse iyswim.

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 14:38

cabbage is good (paddle redeems herself marginally)

MrsR - oh no problme getting a new fixed rate mortgage now or when it expires I have great LTV ratio BUT I'm currently on a rate of 4.99% - very happy if anyone knows of any similar rates on offer!

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 14:39

why on earth are you H's communicating? [nosy emoticon]

Paddlechick666 · 15/07/2008 14:42

because they're friends since our long weekend at Camber in April.

quite pally by all accounts too. i approve as I think MrR is a good influence

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 14:46

ooh wehn MrsR pairs me off with her brother we can all go out together.

(Does your brother like fat bossy women MrsR?)

sfxmum · 15/07/2008 15:27

added some pics on FB from Saturday

suppose I should start packing, finally managed to do Tesco order

now what to cook for dinner? cassoulet?

MrsRecycle · 15/07/2008 15:29

yes very pally - although your h is a bad influence on my dh - I'm trying to stop him betting and your h gives him tipster websites . what is this endurance/tolerance you talk of pc (dh hasn't told me!)?

rofl KC at the thought of the 6 of us - he's not fussy, just as long as you're rich, so you'd better get in there before your mortgage ends.

at no more 4.99 - we have a 5.75 so ours will go up a bit come next year. Ah well, good job we'll have moved by then.

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 15:31

"he's not fussy" - neither am I MrsR as long as its mindless lust rather than anything more committed (will wear my Rolex and pretend to be wealthy). Invite him to Camber in August

MrsRecycle · 15/07/2008 15:37

He is meant to be coming on the Saturday (ds' Birthday the day before) but is notoriously unreliable. But my Mum will be there so she can put in a good word for you.

MrsRecycle · 15/07/2008 15:38

[MrsR is currently rofl at thought of KC having mindless lust with db in a caravan with both Mums present]

Kewcumber · 15/07/2008 15:47

Was thinking more of romantic rolling dunes of Camber sands rather than quickie in bunk bed.
