For when the other thread runs out today!

OP posts:
SJ99 · 13/07/2008 22:23

DH just came home from pub with friend of wife who DS & I modelled for a few wks back. She's given me a huge blown up pic of myself, am to accept such a gift as I'd never display it. Nice gesture although would've preferred one of DS instead!

sleeplessinwestlondon · 13/07/2008 22:46

SJ I bet you both look gorgeous in the photo!!!

Good idea to rent - in catchmet area!

No idea what is wrong with car - I just put petrol in it and drive

sfxmum · 13/07/2008 22:52

SJ how huge? am sure you look lovely

sleepless hope the car trouble is simple to sort out.

really need to set alarm and go run in the morning.
the forecast is quite good for the next couple of days so Kew picnics might be in order

rosmerta · 14/07/2008 08:23

morning all, am feeling much better and refreshed after my relaxing day and early night!

We'll probably be heading over to Kew this morning, trying to make the most of the sunshine whilst we can!

Paddlechick666 · 14/07/2008 12:15

rosmerta · 14/07/2008 13:15

thanks Paddle, sounds good.

Have had a nice morning at Kew, now have a large collection of sticks. I did try to drop them but ds spotted me, must practice my sleight of hand more

sfxmum · 14/07/2008 16:18

hi all

achieved the morning run and later met up with Bunyan at last, lovely to see the baby and dd.
sorry Ros did not check thread before leaving.

MIL sent us a huge chunk of wedding cake in the post, it is yum, missed that last weekend

anyone doing anything tomorrow? think will spend Wednesday local packing and baking

Kewcumber · 14/07/2008 16:19

anyone fancy going to Marble Hill on Sunday then...

Wonder what the forecast is?

sfxmum · 14/07/2008 16:26

don't know for London but Southwold will have glorious sunshine of course

Kewcumber · 14/07/2008 16:28

bugger off grungey

sfxmum · 14/07/2008 16:37

I think that was a sort of movement of the early 90's

heated showers powder rooms festivals for the middle aged

rosmerta · 14/07/2008 18:01

Ah yes, the grunge movement, I was a grunge kid [wistful look]!

Anyway, enough with the reminiscing! If anyone can help me here, I'd really really appreciate it!

sfxmum · 14/07/2008 18:07

interesting Ros might email you rather than post if you don't mind

rosmerta · 14/07/2008 18:09

not a problem, thanks sfx.

slng · 14/07/2008 19:50

Hello!

Been out all day and exhausted.

Have finally figured out what DS2 means when he says "him back" when sitting on potty. I finally asked "who's gone back" on the off chance that he's speaking English, and he said "poo poo". No anecdotes on BF, Ros, but plenty on potty-training ATM...

SJ99 · 14/07/2008 20:07

Hello all

Slng - it feels like a triumph when the penny finally drops, doesn't it?

Ros - can give you my version but it will have a Swedish slant, are you still interested? If so, will email you

Sfx - A3 size

Also loved the grunge stuff too

Popped round to a friend's today to pick up ear defeneders, they're fab and PINK! Fortunately DS isn't aware yet of the association that pink is for girls

Have decided to get an Ergo carrier for DS, inspired by Paddle. Hopefully it means won't have to lug pushchair round festival. Does Mini-pads sleep in your carrier?

Going to Cheeky Monkeys tom am if anyone fancies it, they're having end of term party fairies and pirates. Oops haven't got DS a costume

rosmerta · 14/07/2008 20:26

Sj, yes please, if you don't mind.

Paddlechick666 · 14/07/2008 20:50

evening all

ros, have emailed you.

sj, dd also has shocking pink ear defenders. tbh, they didn't come into play that often. we were far enough away for it not to be a problem mostly.

mind you, she wore them then and refused to wear them (for long) when she was right up the front at a very loud percussive carnival band

wrt Ergo, cool. as for sleeping in it, yes dd does sleep in it. as with all these things it takes a bit of getting used to by both you and the dc. going on personal experience, ds will probably nap thru sheer exhaustion by Saturday

I quite fancy hiring a wheelbarrow and packing it out with blankets for dd. They looked very useful that way at Glasto.

OTOH, DD was more than happy to stay up and boogie till nearly 11pm so it might not get much use.

apparently H has discovered that there is an island only accessable by punt which serves pims. it's on my list!

3 more sleeps people.

rosmerta · 14/07/2008 21:01

thanks paddle! Think you Latitude-ers should go off & have your own thread, making me very

sfxmum · 14/07/2008 21:03

I think Sj is going early paddle, fewer sleep for her

A3 get a good frame woman

we don't have ear defenders, wasn't an issue last year may well not be one again

packing as little as possible is my moto

have to go to Richmond tomorrow might combine with swimming or even Kew again supposed to be nice weather
