rosmerta · 11/07/2008 21:50

paddle, they're just meanies! Any idea how long you'll have to wait to get one?

sleeplessnightsRus · 11/07/2008 23:21

Oh dear can't keep up with this potty chair training!!

Ros R U collecting Sun tokens again? We've got 4 nights in Cornwall next week (£75) and are going to book a long weekend in Sussex for early Sept

Praying for good weather next week [down on knees and praying hard emoticon]

Good story: Had DCs school disco tonight and BBQ - which was fabby despite the rain (although my frind went to see Gypsy Kings in kew Gdns, poor thing)...

DS1 off to a sleepover tonight after disco (how very grown up)

Got back at 21.20 (missing DS1 terribly) and ran warm bath for DD and DS2

DS2 has bath, exis bath and I put nappy on him, while DD has a bath play for a few minutes

5 minutes later..DS2 wanders into bedroom, sans nappy, and presents me with a perfick poo - i.e. hands me the perfick poo.........

sleeplessnightsRus · 11/07/2008 23:23

sfxmum · 12/07/2008 10:08

good morning all

whatsyourname - latitude we are leaving Thursday

dh has been exemplary lovely this morning and is off to work in a minute
and I have finally been back running so feeling great

hope everyone is well

sfxmum · 12/07/2008 10:09

what a lovely giftbless

rosmerta · 12/07/2008 22:22

Evening all,

Sfx, hope you're having a nice time at Kew. Can just hear the fireworks now!

Rus, such a thoughtful ds you have there

We went to the fair at Old Deer Park today & have to say, thought it was a bit of a ripoff. Had to pay for parking, then entry & then rides on top of that. And tbh, there didn't seem to be that much there! Fortunately ds can still accept when we say no & a free balloon & flag helped with any disappointments!

Am meant to be going to ILs tomorrow, am trying to decide whether or not I go!

sfxmum · 12/07/2008 23:42

we had a blast at Kew tonight got there after 7pm because dh had been working but load of people with kids running and dancing around.

dd made friends with everyone and we had a dance party which turned into a birthday party with cake and candles then Marc Almond showed up and we had as sing along (all together now tainted love ) really must be repeated.

then some people gave us a bottle of posh champers yum yum and freebie Gu stuff and in all a fab time

dd had the latest night ever but seems to have enjoyed herself

shame mummy had too much booze

sfxmum · 12/07/2008 23:43

Ros do send dh and ds to inlaws and put your feet up

Kewcumber · 13/07/2008 08:38

Thanks Ros - was just about to ask if anyone had been to the fair as was thinking about taking DS this afternoon if the weather holds - will give it a miss I think on your recommendation!

Big move forward for DS on the swimming front. Yesterday he was selfpropelled for the first time ever - to be fair he had floats in his swimming costume and was holding onto a noodle thing but still - it was SWIMMING! Man, I've worked hard at the water thing - from screaming horror at even dipping his toe in a bath to swimming (kind of). And its only taken a mere 15 months!

rosmerta · 13/07/2008 10:41

I wouldn't have minded if it was just a couple of quid entry but its £7 per adult & then £1/1.50 for the rides so it ends up being quite expensive!

Well done on gherkin's swimming!

sfxmum · 13/07/2008 11:03

well done gherkin

ros that sounds dear

dh is working again today dd was up at usual time so expect lots of rest during the day, taking it easy here, must remember I can't drink more than a couple of glasses of wine any more

SJ99 · 13/07/2008 11:18

Hello all

Wedding was excellent and great to catch up with friends again. DS seemed to enjoy it and was v. taken by my friend's new baby, hoping this bodes well for his own sibling

Glad you had fun Sfx, esp with all the freebies

Well done Gherkin!

Rus - nice pressie We're off on Weds for hols/Latitude, only 2 more days of packing then can have some fun

Hoep everyone else well

sfxmum · 13/07/2008 12:14

I might have to murder sister who seems to have ruined our tent and only told me what is actually wrong with it today 3 days before we need it

sfxmum · 13/07/2008 12:15

well ok murder too severe but am really

sleeplessinwestlondon · 13/07/2008 12:28

SFX - oooh noooo....can you still use the tent?

Your evening at Kew sounds fantastic !!!

Kew - well done to your DS!! Is it a woggle he holds onto? (long rubbery brightly coloured noodle thing?)

He can practice with my DD at Camber -she loves her woggle

I had a fabulous swim this monring in an empty pool "at my health club" drinking book club this arvo..

DS2 stayed up until 4am at his sleep over on Friday night!! - then he went on to attend two parties on Saturday!!!

DD's party at Snakes and Ladders went very well - she had a wild time

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun - at long last eh?

sfxmum · 13/07/2008 18:26

got a new tent have a headache, really should not drink

slng · 13/07/2008 18:57

Hello!

Went on the tree identification tour yesterday at Kew. Very interesting. 2 hours passed by unnoticed. Who'd have thought!

Busy week coming up: nursery shut for training tomorrow, dentist for me, dentist for ds1 and ds2, parents evening at nursery. Exhausted already.

Baked some bread sticks this afternoon with the kids. I say bread sticks, but really they are the most gnarled and oddly-shaped bread product I've ever seen. Yummy though. DS2 tried to drink the balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip. Are all 2yo barbarians?

SJ99 · 13/07/2008 19:40

Sfx - poor you with tent rage not to mention headache, hope hangover wears off soon

Slng - can't believe your nursery has parents evening maybe that's normal...?

Rus - sounds like your DC have partied hard, hope you enjoyed your wine book club

GP's left now, it was really useful having them round with the wedding and move, can't believe hols are getting closer .

slng · 13/07/2008 19:50

SJ - our parents evening consists of 10-minute meeting with child's keyworker, if you can find them, and then eating. This time we are supposed to bring a dish "from your country or any other country", which narrows it down a bit, doesn't it

rosmerta · 13/07/2008 20:13

sfx, poor you, hope you feel better tomorrow!

Sj, my offer to look after ds if you need to do some more packing is still open!

Slng, I am so glad ds's nursery doesn't do parent evenings, their xmas show was funny enough!

I've had a lovely relaxing day, skived off the ILs visit and went shopping instead

SJ99 · 13/07/2008 20:37

Glad you had a relaxing day Ros, sounds lovely.
Thanks for offer but packing going quite well (although I hate doing it!), need to do errands/chores in morning and think I will get DS to 'help me' pack in afternoon. Have a feeling he'll be quite tried after all the wkend's excitement so probably best we stay at home, don't want to inflict his grumpiness on you!

sfxmum · 13/07/2008 20:40

do not pity me for I am a fool
dd asleep now

ros sounds like a good day

slng - must do that tree thing sometime

SJ happy packing, hols soon, ,marvellous

am without my laptop, using dd's cranky old thing, lent mine to niece she is on work experience with some sort of graphic design outfit.

new tent is quite nice and frankly an improvement

now where is my Sunday paper and headache tablets?

sleeplessinwestlondon · 13/07/2008 21:59

SFX new tent sounds good- at least you don't hve to worry about that now

SJ when is your completion date then?

We are supposed to be driving to Cornwall tomorrow and there is something wrong with our car

SJ99 · 13/07/2008 22:17

Sleepless - house sale not going through anymore (maybe this happened while you were away?!) We're going to rent somewhere new from Aug in the catchment area instead and see how it goes.
Hope you get your car sorted in time for your trip, anything major?

Sfx - just finished reading papers which was great as I normally don't get to read Sunday papers til Monday Good news about new tent
