For when the other thread runs out today!

OP posts:
sleeplessnightsRus · 10/07/2008 22:52

Hi Slng sort .. I said that her primary methods seem to be "controlling" the kids and that she resorts to punitive measures because she has no control over them, rather than nurturing and supporng them so their confidence increases.

Just saw Head Teacher again and she was being very, very nice and kind to DS1 (they just had school production) - she has clearly got wind of my complaint.

Gossip from other Mums is that there are plenty of negative feedbacks from parents in DS1's class about the form teacher.

A teacher friend of mine said that DS1's teacher has scored very low in her observations this year (carried out by Head and Deputy Head, as she is newly qualified (pants) teacher)

I also heard tonight that she said the "F" word to class in temper and slammed her hand down on a desk so hard she injured her hand - clearly has anger management problems.

Sorry I know I'm being boring, but just cannot help myself.....

Slng I need a wife too.

Anyone have a link, for a site where Slng and I can buy wives online?

sleeplessnightsRus · 10/07/2008 22:53

..oh and where can we buy decent teachers too?

sleeplessnightsRus · 10/07/2008 22:54

...cue private tutor...

slng · 10/07/2008 23:08

Hello Rus! Hopefully something will be done about the demon teacher. Perhaps there are wives for sale on ebay. Need a PA to help me look. Where can I get a PA?

I've just been on the phone for 1.5 hour! Nothing like a good old natter. But must go to bed now. Night-night all!

sleeplessnightsRus · 10/07/2008 23:10

Oh I lurve a good long phone gossip - so theraputic!!!

Nighty night!!!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

rosmerta · 11/07/2008 07:51

Morning,

Slng, sounds like you should've watched 'Personal Services Required'. People looking for housekeepers & PAs, very funny. Obviously they just get 'characters'!

Rus, if the teacher behaved like that in her practice schools I can't believe she qualified . And as the Head seems to know what she's like, I doubt she'll be staying very long. Good luck finding a tutor!

Sleepie - dd2's df (CMs dd) has a teacher on Thursday that shouts at them. Cue lots of LOs throwing up (CMs dd included) sessions Thursday morning. I had to take CMs dd in last week and when I met the teacher I could see the stress in her face trying to deal with a crying child. Why is she a teacher if she can't cope with 7 year olds crying eh?

Mind you dd1's teacher is the worst EVER (I've had an argument with her and dh was scared of her at the PT consultations), she shouts, BUT dd1 has really come on with her (sometimes she needs a bit of hard persuasion) so much so that she is now the teacher's pet. In fact, even I get on with her and like her a lot. She tells it like it is (a bit like me I suppose!).

sj - when do you move? One of the advantages of being married to dh is that he is an expert packer (can pack a kitchen in 1 hour flat).

slng - hope you got my text last night.

Ros - I wanted to watch that last night, forgot it was on.

slng · 11/07/2008 08:29

Good morning all!

We had smoked salmon sandwiches for breakfast. Is that posh/common? Would a PA approve?

Ros - I didn't watch the PA program at all. I can imagine myself being the most nightmarish of employers ...

MrsR - thanks! That has just reminded me just how unwashed the house is ...

slng · 11/07/2008 08:30

Rus - funnily enough most of phone conversation is about schools and teachers too ... Is there no getting away from the species?

Paddlechick666 · 11/07/2008 08:37

I want a wife and a PA and possibly someone to do my job for me too. All unpaid of course.

smoke salmon sarnies for brekkie is decadent and much envied over here!

i think dd's future teachers should be pitied in having to deal with me. i have a sneaky suspicion that i will awful to deal with LOL.

currently struggling with accepting that CM's younger son is a bit mean to dd. i'm horrified but i know i am being unreasonable. he's 5yrs and a lovely boisterous funny little chap and in my head i know it's "good" for dd to have the interaction but my heart breaks when dd sayd "X tells me to shhhh and won't play with me"

sfx, are you around this arvo? need to return your wellies ahead of next week and not sure when i will have time as weekend very busy.

feeling a bit shabby today, friend over for pizza last night. ate and drank too much.........

slng · 11/07/2008 08:54

Paddle - I read an article about just how bad cereals are for you and an article about how high-protein breakfasts are good for you. So while I remember them we are been having alternatives for breakfast. Got sick of eggs, so smoked salmon today, but clearly unsustainable .... Will be back to cancer-causing high-sugar over-processed breakfast products soon, I suspect.

Must work now. Ought to speed through everything after a nutritious breakfast!

Paddlechick666 · 11/07/2008 09:02

costa coffee and a croissant for me when i am WOH and coffee when I am WFH.

dd has mostly been eating Soreen Malt Loaf for breakfast this week.

or porridge.

smoked salmon and scrambled eggs YUM!

slng · 11/07/2008 09:11

That's my plan for tomorrow's breakfast!

SJ99 · 11/07/2008 09:23

Morning all

Slng - sounds like a lovely breakfast, v. posh! Cannot wait for DS to outgrow his egg allergy, opens up new doors re: meal times Off to take him to dietician shortly.

MrsR - I definitely need to your DH to help with packing. Removals coming on 23rd so have been mostly clearing stuff out this wk while my mum's been here (2 bin bags worth of charity chop junk). Am doing as much packing as I can and DH can do rest after we get back from fest/hols.

Can I order a personal shopper while we're on requests? Need someone to go to Kingston this arvo and get me some wedding accessories

sfxmum · 11/07/2008 09:43

good morning all

paddle what time are you thinking?

slng high protein breakfast is good porridge is my staple with occasionally muesli or cooked breakfast minus beans or toast

salmon and eggs yum poached eggs such a favourite any time.

and btw I would like a housekeeper, a cleaner a PA a trainer preferably something nice to look at and a couple more things I could mention but hey being greedy

mrsR nice to see dh has extra marketable skills, always good in a husband

Rus it is shocking that teachers can be allowed to go on for a full year with that kind of behaviour especially when we know a good teacher can inspire you for life.
it is actually quite sad

sfxmum · 11/07/2008 09:46

SJ what accessories do you need? might find them in Richmond. are you going away for the do?
I never go to weddings can count how many I have been to in one hand, people I know just don't marry

stepfordwife · 11/07/2008 09:52

sleepless, hope you get a "good" outcome from your complaint..

ikwym about being more nervous than them. ds2's teacher mentioned it a week ago that he's volunteered and it was on my mind all week. even had a sick stomach on the morning!

funnily enough, he isn't particularly shy (just the usual when meeting new people) and can be quite extrovert outside school.

really is so important which teacher they get, isn't it? i'm really hoping ds2 gets ds1's teacher from this year. she's fab.

as for newly qualified teachers, ds2 had a pants one last year. she clearly didn't like children much, couldn't control the class and was sarky to their faces (went over their heads, but that's not the point)

but ds1 had a fab newly-qualified teacher in yr 1. the fact she was a fine irish woman has nothing to with it, of course

can't believe i've been drawn into discussing schools...

stepfordwife · 11/07/2008 09:55

that PA programme is funny, isn't it ros? loved the 'are they chavs who've won the lottery" when chap was asked to wear a chauffeur's hat
i aspire to be a chav who's won the lottery..

rosmerta · 11/07/2008 10:39

Me too steppy! The dog woman started to irritate me though, it was the different coloured lipliner to lipstick that did it!

I know a lot of people who've decided to do teacher training & I think a fair bit of the time, its because they don't know what else to do. Most of them are excellent but some, you'd never want them teaching your kids!

Paddlechick666 · 11/07/2008 11:43

sfx, dd finishes school at 12:30 then we'll head home for lunch so was thinking of dropping wellies around 2:30ish - 3pm if that suits?

ComeOVeneer · 11/07/2008 11:59

Morning all. Actually is isn't morning any more is it?!? Well cakes done, second coffee morning hosted, ice creams bought. Have to go and fetch ds home for lunch in a mo. DH is still really ill, thats almost a week now with no real sign of inprovement.

LOL at buying a wife online - I'm sure you can . Currently I could do with one, my domestic crown is slipping this week, with all that is going on and a poorly dh. One more week of school, then 4 days until dh and children leave me in peace (assuming dh is better by then and ds hasn't come down with chicken pox).

Can't beleive ds's teacher's comments, whateveryournameisnow. I assume he is leaving her class at the end of term? Nevertheless it still needs to be adressed.

No time to catch up on the rest of the news, but hope everyone is well.

sfxmum · 11/07/2008 12:04

paddle should be ok will text if any problems am trying to go out and sort out a few things but not really motivated head is a bit explody trying to consider some stuff

rosmerta · 11/07/2008 16:10

slng · 11/07/2008 17:30

What's up Ros?

sfxmum · 11/07/2008 17:36
